Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji addressed a public meeting in Malda North, West Bengal on Friday & criticized the TMC government for endangering the lives of people and youth in West Bengal, highlighting that the welfare schemes initiated by the central government had been halted by them in the state. During the event, BJP Malda North Candidate Shri Khagen Murmu, BJP Malda South Candidate Smt Sreerupa Mitra Chaudhury and several other senior BJP leaders were also present on the stage.

 

Respected Prime Minister stated that today marks the voting for the second phase of the Lok Sabha election in the country.  People are celebrating the festival of democracy with enthusiasm and voting in big numbers and chanting ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’. My heartfelt greetings to all those who are exercising their right to vote. In West Bengal, the excitement for this festival of democracy is palpable. Wherever voting is happening today, I urge everyone to cast their vote as it's crucial for strengthening our democracy. In the first phase of voting TMC and congress were battered and now in the second Phase both parties will be demolished. That's why Malda resonates with the chants of ‘Fir Ek Baar Modi Sarkar’.

 

Shri Modi highlighted that there was a time when Bengal spearheaded the development of our nation. However, the successive reigns of the Left and then the TMC have tarnished Bengal's greatness, undermined its honour and halted its progress. Under TMC rule, Bengal has been marred by rampant corruption, with scams worth thousands of crores plaguing the state. These include the Saradha chit fund scam, cattle smuggling case, Municipality recruitment scam, Ration scam and Coal smuggling scam. The TMC engages in these scams, leaving the people of Bengal to bear the consequences. In Bengal, nothing happens without some form of cut or commission. Even farmers aren't spared. When they go to the Mandi to sell their crops, a significant portion is taken away by middlemen. The TMC has jeopardised the future of our youth. Their involvement in the SSC scam resulted in the cancellation of jobs for 26,000 families. On the contrary, the BJP government at the Centre is providing jobs with full transparency. Schemes like Mudra Yojana, Start-up India and Kaushal Vikas have enhanced the skills of our youth. Thanks to BJP's policies, new sectors are emerging, creating opportunities for the youth. However, in Bengal, the TMC has shut all doors of opportunity for the youth. More than 50 lakh farmers in Bengal have received ₹8,000 crore directly in their accounts through the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.

 

Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Modi stated that the TMC government leaves no opportunity to loot. The funds allocated for Bengal's development from the central government are often shared among TMC leaders and ministers. The schemes attempted to be implemented in the state are stopped by the TMC government. TMC has stopped the Ayushman scheme, which provides free treatment up to five lakh rupees to the people of Bengal. BJP has announced free treatment of up to five lakh rupees for every elderly person, but the TMC will not let the elderly of Bengal avail this scheme either. The TMC government has nothing to do with the troubles of the people of Bengal. TMC wants even the Vande Bharat trains to be stopped in Bengal. The mangoes and foxnuts of Malda's farmers are famous all over the world and BJP wants to increase the income of the farmers, so food processing industries will be set up, but TMC also wants a cut in this.

 

Senior BJP leader stated that the biggest betrayal by TMC after coming to power is with women. When the BJP government ended triple talaq to protect Muslim sisters from oppression, TMC opposed it. There were so many atrocities against women in Sandeshkhali, but the TMC government kept protecting the main accused until the end. There was also an incident of shame with a woman in Malda, but the TMC government remained silent. The BJP government is working for the dignity and respect of women. The BJP government has constructed over 80 lakh toilets in Bengal, benefiting women the most. Nearly 1.25 crore women in Bengal have been given gas connections under the Ujjwala scheme. The majority of the houses provided under the PM Awas Yojana are in the names of women. The BJP government is creating new opportunities for women at every level and empowering them.

 

Hon’ble Prime Minister pointed out that the ideologies and behaviour of TMC and Congress are similar. The main reason for the alliance between TMC and Congress is appeasement. For appeasement, both these parties can do anything and they want to undo actions that are in the interest of the country. INDI Alliance members say they will restore Article 370 in Kashmir, while leaders of TMC and Congress are saying that after coming to power, they will repeal the CAA law. In countries torn by divisions, where crimes are committed against Hindus, Sikhs, Christians and Buddhists, where they are forced to convert, where will they go? At present, there is a large Dalit population and for appeasement, TMC and Congress also want to reject them. The CAA is not about taking away citizenship but about granting it, yet TMC is spreading false rumours.

 

Shri Modi pointed out that the INDI Alliance wants to bring a dangerous law against women, tribals and the poor. In this law, Congress has announced to inspect women's mangalsutras, ornaments of tribal women and anyone's property. For this, Congress’ ‘Shehzada’ has brought X-ray machines from abroad and will x-ray everyone’s property across the country. Congress wants to take people's money, gold, silver, land and give a part of it to their vote bank. Congress has made this announcement, but TMC has not opposed it and is supporting this agenda by remaining silent. There is a competition of appeasement going on between TMC and Congress. The TMC government in Bengal works to settle Bangladeshi infiltrators. On the other hand, Congress talks about distributing the property of people among its vote bank. The Congress is planning to impose a 55% tax on the property of individuals after their death. Instead of passing on the lifelong earnings of individuals to their children the Congress government will seize it, diverting it to their vote bank. After learning about this formula of Congress, the entire country is saying, 'Congress Ki Loot Zindagi ke Saath bhi, Zindagi ke Baad bhi.’

 

Respected Prime Minister Shri Modi highlighted that in Karnataka, the Congress government has already granted a share to the Muslim community in OBC reservations, thereby attempting to distribute the constitutional rights of SC, ST and OBCs on the basis of religion. Congress aims to implement the Karnataka model across the entire country. Senior BJP leader Shri Modi appealed to people to vote for the Bhartiya Jatana Party once again to form the government, fulfilling the dream of a Viksit Bharat.
