Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh addressed public meetings in Lakhimpur Kheri and Etawah in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. Shri Rajnath Singh commended PM Shri Narendra Modi for his dedication to developing India, while also criticizing the INDIA alliance for engaging in religious-based politics. During the event, UP Cabinet Minister Shri Ashish Patel, Lok Sabha Candidate Shri Ajay Mishra Teni, Etawah Lok Sabha Candidate Shri Ram Shankar Katheria, State Vice President Smt Rekha Verma, Regional President Shri Kamlesh Mishra, District Panchayat President Shri Narendra Singh, MLA Shri Lokendra Pratap Singh, MLA Shri Yogesh Verma, Shri Vinod Shankar Awasthi, MLC Shri Umesh Diwedi and others were present there.
Criticizing Congress and Samajwadi Party, Shri Singh said that the land of Lakhimpur Kheri was originally known as Laxmipur, where numerous eminent personalities were born. Despite the aspirations Uttar Pradesh had after gaining independence, it didn't attain the desired heights until recently. However, under the clear majority government of the BJP and the leadership of UP CM Shri Yogi Adityanath, the state's pride and respect have surged. The most pressing issue was the lack of proper law and order, not only in Uttar Pradesh but across the nation. It's widely acknowledged that under Shri Yogi Adityanath's leadership, law and order in UP has strengthened, setting a precedent for other states to follow suit.
Shri Singh highlighted that under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's leadership, India has been rapidly advancing on the global stage. Previously, when India spoke at international forums, it wasn't taken seriously, but now, the world eagerly listens to India's voice. India's stature on the world stage has indeed risen significantly. While Congress indulges in divisive politics, they seem oblivious to the fact that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has been honored by five Muslim-majority Arab nations, a feat unprecedented for any world leader.
Underlining India's strong presence on the world stage, Shri Singh recounted a recent instance during the Russia-Ukraine conflict when Indian students were stranded in Ukraine. Upon their parents' appeal, PM Shri Narendra Modi swiftly engaged with Russian President and Ukrainian President, resulting in a 4.5 hour ceasefire that facilitated the safe evacuation of over 22,000 students from Ukraine. In the United Nations, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has put forward the proposal to embrace Yoga in the whole world and 174 countries have backed the proposal June 21st was made as ‘International Yoga Day’. In 2014, India was ranked 11th globally, but under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, within 7-8 years, India has climbed to the top 5 countries in the world. World economists and experts worldwide acknowledge that under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's leadership, India is the fastest-growing economy globally. If India continues to progress at this rate, it will be among the top three economies globally by 2027.
Attacking Congress for failing in the internal security of the country, Mr Singh said that the contrast between the Congress regime, marked by frequent terror attacks across the nation, and the subsequent decline in such incidents under the Modi government. He referenced the 2008 Mumbai attacks, orchestrated by Pakistani terrorists, during which brave IPS officers and inspectors made the ultimate sacrifice. However, the Congress Home Minister at the time dismissed the incident as a 'Choti-moti Ghatna'. In contrast, the BJP government's resolute action against terrorism has earned praise globally. Despite slogans from leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, and Rajiv Gandhi promising to eradicate poverty, the issue persisted and even worsened over time. However, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, within just 8-9 years of governance, poverty has been effectively eradicated from the country. World financial firms and economic institutions claim that within 8-9 years, 25 crore people have been lifted from the poverty line.
Strongly opposing Congress' announcement of imposing inheritance tax, Shri Singh pointed out that the Indian Overseas Congress President who also advises Congress leaders, proposed that after the head of a family passes away in India, 55% of the inheritance would go to the government and 45% to the offspring. Religious sites in India hold significant value in Sanatan Dharma and require development, but Congress overlooked this. Bharatiya Janata Party has prioritized the development of every religion, evidenced by initiatives like the Kartarpur Sahib corridor and temple reconstructions. Safeguarding the legacy of Indian religion is a responsibility of the Indian government and must be fulfilled.
Highlighting the Modi guarantee, Mr. Singh said that the Bharatiya Janata Party is the only political party that fulfills every promise it makes. Since 1957, when the BJP was known as Jana Sangh, it has honored every commitment outlined in its manifesto. For instance, the party pledged to abrogate Article 370, and upon securing public mandate, it successfully revoked it, integrating Jammu and Kashmir into the mainstream. Additionally, the BJP vowed to build the Ram Mandir. Despite skepticism from Congress and SP, the BJP delivered on its promise, culminating in the auspicious Parn Pratistha ceremony of Ram Lalla on January 22nd, officiated by PM Shri Narendra Modi and religious leaders. This event symbolized the transition of Ram Lalla from a humble abode to his grand temple, heralding the dawn of Ram Rajya in the country. The BJP also addressed the issue of Triple Talaq, despite initial resistance from certain quarters who advised against interfering in religious matters. However, the BJP prioritizes the dignity of every woman, irrespective of religion, and successfully abolished the practice of Triple Talaq.
Shri Singh stated that during his tenure as India's Home Minister in Delhi, he personally witnessed a significant influx of Sikh and Hindu families seeking refuge from Pakistan. Shri Singh noted the dire conditions they were living in, lacking proper sanitation facilities and bathing arrangements. It was during this time that the BJP had proposed a bill for granting citizenship, which was passed in the Lok Sabha but didn't secure a majority in the Rajya Sabha, thus failing to pass. Shri Singh said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the BJP government fulfilled the promise of bringing a citizenship Amendment Act, under which people facing religious persecution in neighboring countries, will be given asylum in India.
Union Defence Minister Shri Singh pointed out that the Congress party refrained from constructing roads along the Indo-China border due to fears that it might facilitate Chinese infiltration. Such weak leadership, he argued, couldn't ensure India's security. Presently, Shri Rajnath Singh highlighted the rapid development of infrastructure along India's border, demonstrating India's strength and resolve. India is a powerful nation capable of protecting its interests, regardless of China's actions. There have been significant strides made in defense production since 2014, with India now producing defense equipment worth over one lakh crore rupees annually. India not only meets its own defense requirements but also exports defence equipment to other countries, citing the recent export of BrahMos missiles as an example.
Shri Singh stated that the opposition hasn't been able to level accusations of division and discrimination based on religion against the BJP. When the BJP government provides housing, it does so without discrimination based on religion. Every deserving individual receives pucca housing, and initiatives like "Nal Se Jal" are implemented without any caste bias. Whether a farmer belongs to any caste, creed, or religion, they are entitled to receive ₹6000 in their accounts, courtesy of the BJP government. Additionally, pregnant women, irrespective of their religious affiliation, can avail themselves of six months of maternity leave with pay while serving the nation.
Criticizing the Indi Alliance, Shri Singh said that Shri Singh highlighted the significant progress in road infrastructure during the BJP's tenure, contrasting it with the previous Congress regime where only 8-9 kilometers of highway were constructed compared to the current daily construction of roads spanning from 38 to 40 kilometers. Parties like the Samajwadi Party might fade into obscurity in the coming years, akin to the acronym "SP" transforming into "Samapt Party," just as the Congress is gradually losing relevance, akin to the extinction of dinosaurs. India's strength, not only on Earth but also in space exploration, citing successful missions like landing a rover on the southern pole of the moon via Chandrayaan and India's emergence as a prominent spacefaring nation. With endeavors like the Sun mission, aiming to travel a distance of 15 lakh kilometers to reach the sun, and the successful Mangalyaan mission to Mars, India continues to make significant strides in space exploration.
Shri Singh stated that in the journey of India's development, every individual's contribution has been significant. However, the unprecedented pace of development witnessed during the tenure of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's government is unparalleled in the history of independent India. The rapid implementation of various welfare schemes, whether related to food distribution, housing, sanitation, or other initiatives, reflects the determination of the BJP government to bring progress to the grassroots level, a feat unmatched by any previous administration.
Senior BJP leader Shri Singh emphasized that the path of development has not always been smooth for the BJP government, with its fair share of setbacks. However, what distinguishes them is their unwavering resolve in the face of challenges. He illustrated this with the example of the Chandrayaan 2 mission, where despite initial disappointment due to its failure to land on the lunar south pole, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi personally consoled and encouraged the ISRO scientists, acknowledging their efforts. This encouragement led to the successful landing of Chandrayaan 3 on the lunar south pole, showcasing the government's commitment to turning setbacks into opportunities for growth and advancement.
Shri Singh noted that Maharaja Ranjit Singh not only adorned the Golden Temple with a golden canopy but also installed an equally weighty golden canopy at the Kashi Vishwanath temple. Whenever he visits the border regions and hears the resounding chants of "Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal" from Sikh mothers and sees the strong youth standing tall, he is reminded of the invaluable contribution of the Sikh community to India's security. India will never forget the Sikh community's role in safeguarding the nation.
Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Singh appealed to the public stating that it's not just about securing victory for Shri Ajay Mishra Teni but about elevating the pride of Bharat Mata. BJP State Vice-President Smt. Rekha Verma, not only represents her constituency but also effectively voices the issues of Uttar Pradesh in the Parliament. The public must ensure their support for the BJP and strive for a third term for PM Shri Narendra Modi.
