'BJYM Border Village Sampark Abhiyaan' launched

New Delhi, January 19: On the auspicious occasion of Swami Vivekanand ji's birth anniversary, which is celebrated as National Youth day, Hon'ble BJP National President Sh. JP Nadda ji inaugurated the 'BJYM Border Village Sampark Abhiyaan' at Kankamura in West Tripura district. This abhiyaan, initiated under the leadership of Hon'ble BJYM National President Sh. Tejasvi Surya ji, will connect with over 200 border villages across 8 states and 50 districts of India.

Taking the vision of our PM Shri Narendra Modi ji forward, BJYM National President Shri Tejasvi Surya called upon all BJYM Karyakartas to take up BJYM Border Villages Sampark Abhiyaan in which a BJYM karyakarta will go to border villages and stay there for 3 days to have direct interaction with the locals and understand their aspirations, apprehensions, life and culture.

The BJYM Karyakartas will also dissimate information about the Union Government’s vibrant villages program to the residents and take their feedback about the changes brought about in their day to day life with this development policy of the Modi government.

Under the dynamic leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi ji, the border regions of our nation are finally getting the attention and infrastructural development that had eluded them for decades. Under Modi ji, the Central Government has focused on providing all forms of connectivity for the border regions – Air connectivity, Rail connectivity, Road connectivity, Power connectivity, Mobile connectivity, Waterways connectivity, Ropeway connectivity, Telemedicine and health connectivity.

In order to ensure faster development of border villages, Central Government has introduced the “Vibrant Villages” initiative. Through this program, the government will help make border villages with sparse population, limited connectivity and infrastructure, become self-sufficient.

Under this scheme the border villages will be provided assistance for construction of village infrastructure, housing, tourist centres, road connectivity, provisioning of decentralized renewable energy, direct to home access for Doordarshan and educational channels, and support for livelihood generation. For this, the Central government has allocated a budget of Rs 2517.02 crores under the “Vibrant Villages” programme in FY 2022-23.

To facilitate better coordination among border infrastructural needs and to expedite the border projects, Central Govt introduced Border Infrastructure and Management (BIM) for developing infrastructure in border regions. Under the 15th Finance Commission, the Union Government has allocated Rs 13,020 crores for Border Infrastructure under BIM.

All these projects and initiatives will ensure year-round connectivity for border villages and border region, assisting in ensuring national security, easy movement of defence forces to the border areas, and easy access to all facilities for the border villagers. These initiatives will provide the border villagers with an opportunity to ascertain sustainable livelihood practices, and ensure long-term prosperity and economic wellbeing.
