Meenakashi Lekhi slammed Delhi Delhi CM over renovation of residence case, says, “Violation of Statutory Provisions of Law by Sh. Arvind Kejriwal for personal gains”
Union Minister of State for External Affairs & Culture Smt. Meenakashi Lekhi made two very strong points in a press conference held by her.
Lekhi said that In this whole controversy of spending 45 crore, Two points are important :
1. The whole idea is of spending exorbitant amount of money on renovation and reconstruction, if any, of the government accommodation with public money is MORALLY WRONG. A leader that won the election on pretext of being an austere Chief Minister spending 45 crores on a lavish house, a seven star residence is an absolute moral wrong. It is not the money that you have earned with your hard work. It is the money of aam janata’s hard work. You are not a businessman working for your own profits, you are a public servant. You promised one thing to your public and this is how you are behaving after attaining the power.
2. Second point is that this whole ordeal happened at the time of Corona and lockdown. No one can forget that this man, Arvind Kejriwal, spread lies at the time of lockdown that there are buses waiting at Anand Vihar Bus Station and all the poor people were pushed out of Delhi, out of their Karma-Bhumi, because he did not want to take responsibility of them. At the time when food, water, medical facilities were to be provided, the Chief Minister of Delhi was busy renovating his house. At the time when people were unable to get one meal a day, it was only Central Government that worked for these people. Chief Minister of Delhi was busy getting consultations from superior interior designers, buying superior quality marble stone, getting expensive wardrobes made, expensive glass doors installed. Is this the man you call your leader? Is he worthy of being a leader of the capital city of Delhi? When the constructions were banned, there were barely any labour left in Delhi, the so-called austere CM of Delhi was busy building a seven star accommodation for him and his family.
During the second lockdown in 2021, which was so severe that people were dying everyday, our frontline health workers were working 24 hours staright wearing suffocating ppt kits, our BJP MPs were busy distributing ration kits, CM of Delhi was nowhere to be seen.
3. Lekhi said that It was a clear Violation of Statutory Provisions of Law by Sh. Arvind Kejriwal for personal gains.
