on the demise of Justice J.S. Verma
I am deeply saddened by the news of Justice J.S. Verma's demise. Justice Verma will always be remembered for heading the committee to review laws on crimes against women. At a time when our civil society was fast losing its faith in the system he had given a glimmer of hope to people.
He was a thorough gentleman and an eternal optimist all his life. His death has come at a point when the people are once again agitated over barbaric crimes like rape and child molestation. I offer my heartfelt condolences on behalf of my party and pray to God that his noble soul rests in peace.
