Press Conference of BJP National President
Shri Rajnath Singh on BSP and ISI
Bharatiya Janata Party national president Shri Rajnath Singh today said that the BJP had thrice helped the Bahujan Samaj Party to form government in the State, but this time it will not do so. He said in Uttar Pradesh which ever party wants can support the BJP. The BJP will not support any party.
Shri Rajnath Singh said that the Uttar Pradesh police chief had admitted that many districts in the State were influenced by ISI activities. These included some districts in both eastern and western Uttar Pradesh.
The BJP president has sought that the government resort to direct action to destroy the ISI camps. Citing Defence minister Pranab Mukherjee's statements, he said that he had admitted that Naxalite and terrorist organisations were getting foreign aid.
Describing as a mere formality the recently held chief ministers conference in New Delhi on the Naxalite issue, the BJP president said that no concrete plan had been made in the meet to deal with Naxalism.
Stating that the Uttar Pradesh government was insensitive and faceless, Shri Rajnath Singh charged that no concrete steps had been taken by it to improve the law and order situation. He said the State government had promised the people that in two years power would be provided at Rs 2 per unit. Two years had passed but the promise had not been kept.
Pointing out that the State government's direction less economic policy was responsible for dismal economic condition in the state, he said that government money was being squandered on few select villages.
Shri Rajnath Singh said that India should have reacted much faster in respect to developments in Nepal. He emphasised that democracy and peace should be restored in Nepal, but at the same time care should be taken that Maoist groups are not strengthened.
