Bharatiya Janata Party will launch a week long "Campaign against the Congress politics of appeasement" from 15th December, 2006 through out the country till 21st December. During the campaign the Party will mobilise public opinion against the UPA's politics of Minorityism, which is against the spirit of National Unity and secular ethos of the Constitution. The Party will hold Dharnas and organise Rallies in all the state capitals of the country and will submit a memorandum to the Governor.
The appeasement policies of UPA are divisive in nature and aim at vote bank politics. The effort to give reservations on religious basis in Andhra, reintroduction of the provisions of quashed IMDT Act with the intention to protect the illegal immigrants, keeping away Minority Educational Institutes from the ambit of reservations for SC/ST, the appointment of Sachar Committee to study the problem of backwardness of only one particular religious community, effort to grant minority status to the AMU, holding back the decision on the clemency petition of the convicted terrorists Afzal Guru, issuing orders for headcount in judiciary and military, issuing warning of zero tolerance to the security forces instead of the terrorists outfits, reservation in welfare budgets on religious basis, passing of resolution in Kerala Assembly demanding relief to the accused of Coimbtore bomb blast and last but not the least the "first claim" of Muslims on National resources by the PM are all the pointers of worst vote bank politics. The nation is aghast at these developments.
BJP believes in simultaneous progress of all the sections of society without any discrimination. A special package for development of under privileged sections was introduced by NDA in form of "Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan" and many other schemes. Religion can't be the basis for such welfare measures. BJP opposes divisive politics of appeasement of any kind as we believe in the doctrine of "Justice for all and appeasement of none".
