Senior BJP MP and former Union Minister Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad strongly criticized the conspiracy of Congress in collaboration with foreign powers to stop the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi
Bharatiya Janata Party senior MP and former Union Minister Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad on Thursday launched a scathing attack on Congress and Rahul Gandhi while addressing the media. He showcased a video of U.S. President Donald Trump’s statement confirming that USAID funds were being used to influence Indian elections, along with another video of Rahul Gandhi openly seeking foreign intervention in India’s democracy during his visits abroad.
Shri Prasad said US President Donald Trump's latest remarks on USAID funding to India vindicated Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi's claim during the 2024 Lok Sabha election campaign that foreign powers were trying to prevent him from coming to power. When people don't vote for them (Congress), they hatch conspiracies, use foreign money to influence India's elections. They defame India's democracy, and we strongly condemn it, Shri Prasad said.
Former Union Minister Shri Prasad stated that Rahul Gandhi has repeatedly called for foreign interference in India's democratic processes, and today, the U.S. President’s confirmation of such funding has further validated the assistance Rahul Gandhi was receiving. He condemned Congress’s actions as utterly shameful and anti-national. Today Donald Trump’s publicly statement clearly established that they used to cry for foreign help in Indian elections because he was not getting votes.
Shri Prasad stated that U.S. President Donald Trump has publicly commented that $21 million was being spent by previous U.S. administrations to increase voter turnout in India, which has now been discontinued. Rahul Gandhi frequently went abroad and claimed that India's democracy was under threat, yet no one seemed concerned. Rahul Gandhi has made such comments abroad many times, and we have also responded to them. So, Rahul Gandhi was whining abroad, questioning why other major democracies were not concerned about the so-called attacks on democracy in India and claiming that he had to fight against it. He was conspiring to weaken India’s democracy on foreign soil while appealing to major democratic nations to intervene and help "save" India's democracy.
Former Union Minister Shri Prasad remarked that Rahul Gandhi was essentially asking for help in winning elections. He doesn’t get votes and keeps losing repeatedly. And today, U.S. President Donald Trump has confirmed the cancellation of millions of dollars in assistance, which he personally revoked. What the Congress party has done is a matter of shame for the nation—mocking India’s democracy on global platforms, constantly whining, and urging democratic nations to interfere. We strongly condemn this. That is why I have come today with solid proof. I have presented both President Donald Trump's statement and Rahul Gandhi's statement before you. Trump questioned for whom this $21 million was being spent, while Rahul Gandhi claimed that India's democracy was weakening and that they had to fight this battle alone—so why weren’t major democratic nations stepping in to help?
Shri Prasad stated that this is a direct linkage—the large-scale funding that was coming in was intended to influence India’s elections. This funding was being funneled through various NGOs aligned with the Congress party and opponents of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi, all working together to manipulate the electoral process.
