Union Home Minister & Minister of Cooperation and Senior BJP leader Shri Amit Shah addressed the concluding ceremony of Maharashtra BJP's state convention on Sunday. In his address, Shri Shah stated that the people of Maharashtra have once again reaffirmed their commitment to Sanatan culture and Hindutva. The historic victory achieved by BJP karyakartas in Maharashtra has diminished the confidence of the INDI alliance. During the event, Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra BJP President Shri Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Maharashtra BJP Working President Shri Ravindra Chavan,  Union Minister Shri Piyush Goyal, BJP National General Secretary Shri Vinod Tawde, among other leaders were present.

Shri Shah stated that Maharashtra has always been at the forefront of leading the nation. Brave figures like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Tilak Maharaj, Veer Savarkar, Babasaheb Ambedkar, Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, Krantijyoti Savitribai, and countless other heroes have continuously inspired the country with their sacrifices and efforts to drive progress. After Maharashtra's major victory, today everyone has come together for the first time. The victory carries immense significance. BJP's allies, the real Shiv Sena and NCP, have also triumphed. This triumph has buried the politics of betrayal and opportunism started by Sharad Pawar in 1978, it is due to the relentless efforts of the party karyakartas. Shri Amit Shah also highlighted the betrayal by Uddhav Thackeray in 2019, when he abandoned the party's ideology and Balasaheb Thackeray’s principles to deceitfully become the Chief Minister. He remarked that the public has rightfully shown Uddhav Thackeray his place.

Union Home Minister emphasized that for a long time, Maharashtra faced instability, but by putting an end to that and providing a steady path, the people have entrusted Maharashtra with a strong government under Shri Devendra Fadnavis. The opposition's hopes of winning Maharashtra after the Lok Sabha elections were crushed by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Shri Shah recalled that during his visit to Maharashtra, when he spoke to 9,500 karyakartas, he had remarked, "While some elections influence state politics, others transform national politics. Maharashtra's historic victory will be remembered for redirecting the course of national politics after 25 years." Shri Shah credited BJP karyakartas for this success, and thanked the people of Maharashtra for having delivered a strong blow to dynastic politics. Shri Shah expressed his sincere gratitude to the ‘Ladli Behenas’ and farmers of Maharashtra.

Shri Shah stated that a few days ago, he saw an image where Sharad Pawar was explaining to journalists about regions like North Maharashtra, Konkan, West Maharashtra, West Virar, East Virar, Marathwada, and Mumbai. However, Sharad Pawar should now understand that the Mahayuti won 21 out of 22 seats in North Maharashtra, 16 out of 17 in Konkan, 24 out of 26 in West Maharashtra, 15 out of 17 in West Vidarbha, 22 out of 29 in East Vidarbha, 19 out of 20 in Marathwada, and 15 out of 17 in Mumbai. These victories were the result of the hard work of all the karyakartas. While some tickets were denied and ambitions unfulfilled, the karyakartas prioritized the success of Mahayuti, ensuring victories for Shiv Sena and NCP and strengthening the alliance. The people of Maharashtra have decided that Shri Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena is the true Shiv Sena of Balasaheb Thackeray, and Shri Ajit Pawar's NCP is the real NCP. The people of Maharashtra have sent Sharad Pawar, who initiated the politics of betrayal and Uddhav Thackeray, who delivered the final betrayal, back home. The people of Maharashtra have once again extended support to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji's development-focused politics. They have also reaffirmed their support for Sanatan culture and Hindutva in the state.

Union Home Minister stated that the year 2024 will hold a special place whenever the history of the Bharatiya Janata Party is written. In 2024, Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji was elected as India's Prime Minister for the third consecutive time. BJP secured its third consecutive victory in Haryana, NDA emerged victorious in Andhra Pradesh for the first time, BJP formed a majority government in Odisha for the first time, NDA won in Sikkim for the third time, and once again, NDA received a strong mandate in Maharashtra. However, BJP karyakartas are not ones to tire. The foundation of the party’s work lies in its ‘Sangathan’, and the strength of BJP’s electoral victories is rooted in our strong organizational structure, with booth-level warriors serving as our commanders. Due to elections, BJP’s ‘Sangathan Parv’ in Maharashtra started slightly late. Currently, there are 40 lakh BJP members in the state, and this number needs to be raised to 1.5 crore. He urged BJP karyakartas to add 250 members at every booth, ensuring no booth is left behind.

Shri Shah stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party will strengthen its presence at every booth, tehsil and power center. Elections for municipal corporations, municipal councils and district panchayats will be held this year in cities like Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Party karyakartas must ensure that the opposition is unable to secure any position. The cycle of development is complete only when the saffron flag flies from the Panchayat level to Parliament. Victory is achieved when BJP dominates at every level—Panchayat, Tehsil, District, Municipality, Municipal Corporation, Maharashtra, and the country. Shri Shah called upon all karyakartas to play a pivotal role in securing victories from the Panchayat to Parliament. BJP karyakartas should ensure the success of BJP and NDA in the upcoming local elections and work towards increasing the membership drive to 1.5 crore.

Union Home Minister emphasized the need to create an unbeatable and strong party where no one can betray the BJP. In this membership drive, everyone, from Vidarbha to North Maharashtra, Marathwada to West Maharashtra, from Panna Pramukh to Booth President, and from Booth President to State President, must contribute their efforts. All party karyakartas must ensure that every booth has the women and farmers as members and work towards promoting our ideologies of ‘Rashtra Pratham’ and ‘Jankalyan Pratham.’

Shri Shah highlighted that when the BJP government was formed in Maharashtra under the leadership of Shri Devendra Fadnavis, he committed to making Maharashtra free from drought. This mission started with the ‘Jalyukt Shivray’ scheme. Now, with a full term in office, the BJP will continue its efforts. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis, every farm in Maharashtra will be provided with water. Despite Sharad Pawar holding several crucial positions, including Agriculture Minister, Cooperation Minister, Central Minister, and Chief Minister, he could not alleviate the issue of farmer suicides in Maharashtra. However, after Shri Devendra Fadnavis's government completes the task of ensuring water availability for all farms, it will seek votes and support from the people of Maharashtra. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, only the Bharatiya Janata Party and NDA have the ability to make this happen, as the Modi government has introduced several initiatives for this cause.

Union Minister Shri Amit Shah emphasized that the BJP government follows a tradition of delivering on its promises. The party’s critics have been questioning how the promises would be fulfilled, but they will only watch as the BJP delivers on all its commitments. From 2014 to 2024, the BJP made several promises to the people, and every single one of them has been fulfilled. Yesterday, in Ayodhya, the consecration of Ram Lalla completed one year. For 550 years, Ram Lalla had been residing in a tent, but the BJP had promised to resolve this, and Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji fulfilled that promise on January 22, 2024. The Modi government abolished Article 370 and eliminated terrorism from the country. By March 31, 2026, the government is committed to eradicating Naxalism completely.

Union Home Minister also highlighted the BJP’s promise to uplift the poor, noting that the government has provided homes, gas, food, electricity, water, and medical treatment worth up to ₹5 lakh to 60 crore underprivileged people. Recalling the words of Senapati Bapat, Shri Shah said, ‘Without the development of Maharashtra, the development of the country is impossible,’ stressing that the development of Maharashtra is significant for the development of India. With this vision, the BJP government is committed to implementing all promised infrastructure projects, including express highways, the Shaktipeeth Highway, Pune Metro, Pune’s second airport, Gadchiroli’s steel factory, Navi Mumbai airport, Mumbai Metro expansion, the Lilladhi-Mumbai Economic Corridor, Auric City in Sambhaji Nagar, Jalna and Sangli dry ports, all within the next 5 years. Maharashtra leads in investments, and BJP’s massive victory in the state has instilled renewed confidence among karyakartas across the country.

Shri Shah highlighted that the condition of the INDI Alliance has worsened to such an extent that in the upcoming Mumbai elections, Shiv Sena (UBT) will contest separately from Congress. In the Delhi Assembly elections, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party will also fight separately. In Bengal, TMC and Congress are now isolated, and in Bihar, Lalu Prasad Yadav is struggling. The Ghamandia alliance has now broken down, with Maharashtra’s karyakartas playing a key role in this. The historic victory achieved by BJP karyakartas in Maharashtra has shattered the INDI Alliance's confidence. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, BJP continues to achieve one victory after another. On the 8th of this month, BJP is set to form the government in Delhi as well. Maharashtra BJP closed the year 2024 with a victory, and Delhi BJP will kick off 2025 with its own triumph.

Union Home Minister stated that under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, India will secure the top position globally by 2047, with a vision of becoming a fully developed, secure, and educated nation in every field. However, ‘Viksit Bharat’ cannot be achieved without a ‘Viksit Maharashtra,’ as Maharashtra has always been at the forefront of development. In the coming days, all party karyakartas must put in their best efforts to strengthen BJP at every booth, ensuring that NDA and BJP win every seat. The focus is to defeat all opposition at the local level. With the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, Maharashtra will witness the rise of an unshakable BJP, one that no one will dare betray. This must be the goal for every karyakarta of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Shri Shah expressed that the dedicated karyakartas of the BJP are the true architects of the party's overwhelming victory in Maharashtra. Prior to the elections, by visiting various regions and addressing uncertainties, the karyakartas, under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis, carried the saffron flag and chanted "Bharat Mata Ki Jai," successfully driving the opposition back to their homes. Shri Shah extended heartfelt congratulations to all the karyakartas of the Maharashtra BJP. The BJP's victory march will continue, leading to the establishment of an invincible BJP in Maharashtra.
