Hon’ble Union Home Minister & Minister of Cooperation and Senior BJP leader Shri Amit Shah addressed an important press conference in Hyderabad on Saturday and attacked the Congress and BRS in Telangana for their politics of corruption and appeasement. He also emphasized the developmental initiatives under PM Shri Narendra Modi’s leadership. During the conference, Telangana BJP President Shri G Kishan Reddy, among other leaders were present.
Union Home Minister & Minister of Cooperation announced that the fourth phase of campaigning for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections will conclude shortly. After three phases, the voting process has ended. In the preceding phases, under the BJP's leadership, all NDA allied parties have secured nearly 200 seats. The fourth phase looks particularly favorable for the NDA and we are confident of exceeding 400 Paar.
Shri Shah remarked that in the fourth phase, voting will be underway in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Both the states are witnessing a strong surge for the NDA and BJP are heading with complete sweep. When the results come on June 4th, in South India, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, the BJP will emerge as the largest party. This implies that in these states, the party securing the most seats will be the BJP. In Telangana, BJP will secure over 10 seats, our position is quite strong on 13 seats, but BJP will win more than 10 seats. More or less, issues have been set in the campaign going on so far.
Union Home Minister highlighted that on one side, there is the UPA, the INDI Alliance and on the other side, there is the NDA, led by the BJP. There is the Congress and its allies who are involved in corruption and scams of ₹12 lakh crores. On the other hand, there is Shri Narendra Modi, who has not been accused of corruption of even 25 paise despite being the Chief Minister for 23 years or Prime Minister for 10 years. As soon as the heat increases, some leaders regularly go on holiday to Thailand, Bangkok. On the other side is Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi who has not taken leave even on Diwali day for the last 23 years. Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra modi celebrates Diwali with the soldiers who protect the country on the borders.
Shri Shah mentioned that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has a track record of 10 years and a vision for the next 25 years. During his tenure, he has focused on development for the poor, ensured national security, combated terrorism and naxalism and facilitated an economic boost from the 11th position to the 5th. Additionally, his leadership has led to the global expansion of initiatives like Digital India and the digitalization and modernization of banks. On one hand, we are fortunate to have a leader like PM Shri Narendra Modi. On the other hand, there have been unsuccessful attempts to launch Rahul Yaan 20 times and now they're attempting it for the 21st time. While PM Shri Narendra Modi hails from a poor family and has worked for the upliftment of the poor, backward, Dalits and tribals, there are leaders born into riches who only engage in dynastic politics.
Union Home Minister affirmed that the public has decided to elect Shri Narendra Modi as Prime Minister for the third consecutive term, ensuring BJP secures over 400 seats. When Telangana was established, it was a revenue surplus state, but now it carries loans worth crores of rupees. Telangana has to repay loans of around ₹80,000 crore annually. The BRS and Congress governments have derailed the development of Telangana. Over the past 10 years, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has undertaken numerous initiatives for Telangana's progress. In 2014-15, the united Andhra Pradesh received a grant of ₹15,000 crore, whereas today, it receives nearly ₹63,000 crore, reflecting a fourfold increase in grant-in-aid facilitated by the Modi government.
Shri Shah highlighted that in Telangana, the BJP government has allocated ₹165,000 crore for road construction, ₹32,000 crore for railway development and ₹7,000 crore for airport expansion. Essentially, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has provided Telangana with more funds than it has ever received in any decade post-independence. Additionally, the Modi government has initiated the establishment of the Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University with a budget of ₹900 crore. The government also initiated the formation of the National Turmeric Board and announced plans to restart the Ramagundam Fertilizer and Chemical Ltd. with an investment of ₹6,300 crore.
Union Home Minister stated that the BRS and Congress parties have deeply immersed themselves in vote bank politics and corruption. Nepotism, corruption, bad governance and appeasement have severely distressed the people of Telangana. This time, the people of Telangana will send a record number of BJP MPs from the state, with overwhelming support for PM Shri Narendra Modi.
Shri Shah stated that whether it's the BRS government or Congress', the steering wheel of the government has always been in the hands of Owaisi. Both have effectively outsourced the governance responsibility to the Majlis by advancing their appeasement theories. They oppose the CAA, question the removal of Article 370 and criticize surgical strikes. They support PFI and advocate for the illegal entry of Rohingyas into the country. They have put an end to the tradition of observing Hyderabad Liberation Day and ceased the tradition of presenting holy garments to Bhadrachalam on Ram Navami. The most detrimental action for the entire country, especially for ST, SC and OBC communities, is that Congress has introduced 4% reservation for Muslims in Telangana. This 4% Muslim reservation directly encroaches upon the reservation meant for SC, ST and OBC communities. Whenever the BJP government comes to power, Muslim reservation in Telangana will be abolished.
Union Home Minister highlighted the extensive list of scandals involving the BRS and Congress. Congress had pledged to waive off a ₹2 lakh loan, stating it would be done on Sonia Gandhi’s birthday. The catch was that Congress never mentioned which birthday of Sonia Gandhi they were referring to. It's been so long since forming the government, but not even a ₹2 debt of farmers has been waived off. The promise of giving farmers ₹15,000 annually, ₹12,000 to agricultural laborers and a ₹500 rupee bonus on every quintal of grain under MSP, all remained unfulfilled. The Congress party also failed to provide students with a credit line of up to ₹5 lakhs, scooters for girls going to college, or open an international school in every district. Congress only fulfilled one promise done to its high command – to divert funds from Telangana to finance elections across India. Revanth Reddy has turned Telangana into Congress' ATM.
Shri Shah remarked that due to Congress' politics of appeasing vote banks, they have reached a point where Congress leaders like Mani Shankar Aiyar and Farooq Abdullah claim that Pakistan possesses an atom bomb. By making such statements, they indirectly support Pakistan's stance of keeping official Kashmir under its control. BJP strongly condemns this stance of Congress. The Bharatiya Janata Party firmly believes that we will never relinquish our rights over Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, as it is an integral part of India.
Union Home Minister accused the Congress of propagating falsehoods and engaging in deceitful politics. According to the Congress, if Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi achieves ‘400 Paar’, he will abolish reservations. However, despite having a clear majority for the past decade, the BJP has never discussed ending reservations. Instead, they have used their majority to revoke Article 370, implement the Uniform Civil Code, abolish triple talaq and facilitate the construction of the Ram Mandir. Shri Shah condemned the Congress for editing his video and spreading misinformation in an unethical manner. The Congress claims that if they come to power, they will restore Article 370, reintroduce triple talaq and introduce Personal Law.
Shri Shah emphasized that on one hand, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has risen as a leader who has surpassed all records of development in the past 75 years. Shri Narendra Modi has presented a vision to the nation that by the time India celebrates its centenary of independence, it will be a fully developed country and a global leader in every sector. On the contrary, the opposition is mired in appeasement, dynastic politics and corruption. The citizens of the country believe that the secure future of this nation lies only under the leadership of the accomplished Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Shri Shah appealed to the public for a similar rise in support for the BJP and its allies in the fourth phase, akin to the previous three phases, leading Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi towards a decisive leadership.
