National President of Bharatiya Janata Party, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, while addressing the public meeting in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand today, said that on one hand, BJP is doing everything for the development of Uttarakhand, on the other hand, Congress has betrayed Uttarakhand for decades. During the event, Uttrakhand CM Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, Uttarakhand BJP President Shri Mahendra Bhatt, National General Secretary Shri Dushyant Gautam, Pithoragarh Candidate Shri Ajay Tamta, MLA Shri Bishan Singh Chuphal, and several other BJP leaders were present. Shri Nadda emphasized the development carried out by the BJP in the state under the leadership of CM Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, as well as in the country under PM Shri Narendra Modi. Shri Nadda criticized the Congress and opposition parties for their involvement in corruption and for harboring a divisive mindset by discussing the division of states.

 

Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda expressed his fortune to be attending an event in Devbhoomi. Shri Nadda stated that the Uttarakhand has been ‘Veerbhoomi’ and worked for the country’s security. Shri Nadda stated that during the 40 years of Congress tenure, soldiers faced injustice, while Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi initiated ‘One Rank One Pension’ for the welfare of Army soldiers. Shri Nadda stated that Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi has announced that the third decade of this century belongs to Uttrakhand, as was evident from his works. Shri Nadda highlighted the BJP's efforts in the development of Uttarakhand, prioritizing women and youth empowerment. He criticized Congress for decades of corruption and neglect, leading the state toward destruction.

 

Shri Nadda highlighted a list of corruption scandals during the Congress government's tenure, including Scams such as Coalgate, the Bofors, the Submarine, the AgustaWestland,2G-3G and the Commonwealth scam. The Congress has done corruption ‘Jal, Thal and Nabh.’  On the other hand, the BJP under PM Shri Narendra Modi has won all 5 seats from the state in both the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Shri Nadda stated that despite facing challenges like COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine war, India under PM Shri Narendra Modi's leadership has ascended from the 11th to the top 5 economies globally, surpassing Britain. Shri Nadda expressed confidence in India's trajectory, projecting it to become the world's third-largest economy by 2028. He urged voters to support Ajay Tamta and the BJP to ensure all five seats are won by the BJP once again.

 

Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda highlighted significant achievements under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi. He mentioned that India's electronic goods exports have increased sixfold, with over 97% of mobile phones now being manufactured domestically, showcasing the success of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'. Moreover, India has risen to the second position in steel production from fourth place previously. In the automobile sector, India has surpassed Japan, becoming the world's third-largest automobile industry. Additionally, India has emerged as the leading provider of affordable and effective medicines globally, solidifying its position as the world's leading pharmacy.

 

Shri Nadda highlighted that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, over 4 crore houses have been constructed nationwide, including nearly 1 lakh houses in Uttarakhand, with 11 thousand in Pithoragarh alone. He also mentioned that under the Ujjwala Scheme, the BJP government under PM Shri Narendra Modi has provided 11 crore gas connections nationwide, including 1 lakh in Uttarakhand. Shri Nadda highlighted that Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has provided access to clean water and toilets under the Har Ghar Jal Scheme to 11 crore 30 lakh people, out of which 12 lakh households benefited in Uttarakhand from this scheme and 2 lakhs households benefited from this scheme in Pithoragarh alone.

 

BJP National President highlighted that under the Swachh Bharat scheme, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi constructed 11 crore toilets, providing relief from open defecation to 11 crore women, including 5 lakh 30 thousand toilets in Uttarakhand. He also emphasized that PM Shri Narendra Modi launched Ayushman Bharat to ensure the welfare of the rural poor, who constitute approximately 40% of India's population, totaling 55 crore people. And totaling scheme, 55 crore poor people in the country are provided with health insurance of ₹5 lakh per year. Shri Nadda mentioned Atal Ayushman Yojna launched by Uttrakhand CM Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami which provides free medical treatment up to five lakh rupees annually to Uttarakhand residents. Shri Nadda also highlighted that a 601 km road has been constructed for the Chardham, and another 825 km road is planned, with a total expenditure of 12 thousand crore rupees. Under the BJP government, the health budget has been increased from  ₹250 crore to  ₹500 crore. Additionally, he pointed out the opening of medical colleges in Pithoragarh and Almora. Moreover, Shri Nadda emphasised that the budget for drinking water is  ₹1200 crore, with  ₹64 crore allocated for MGNREGA. He further mentioned that Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi allocated a central fund of 41 thousand crore rupees to Uttarakhand CM Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami for the development of Uttarakhand.

 

Shri Nadda highlighted developmental initiatives in Uttarakhand, including the establishment of rail connectivity between Dehradun, Delhi, and Lucknow, and the development of an airport in Pithoragarh. Additionally, a railway line is being extended from Rishikesh to Karnaprayag, with a total budget of ₹16,000 crore allocated for overall development in this region. He also noted that 601 km of road has been constructed for the Char Dham, with plans for another 825 km of road, amounting to a total expenditure of ₹12,000 crore. Furthermore, Shri Nadda mentioned the expansion of roads to reach every village under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.

 

Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda praised CM Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami's efforts for Uttarakhand to become the flag bearer of the Uniform Civil Code in the country. Under the 'Vibrant Village' initiative, 27 villages have been selected from Pithoragarh, and efforts are being made to promote their development. Shri Nadda highlighted PM Shri Narendra Modi's leadership, mentioning surgical strikes and criticizing Congress for doubting soldiers' valour by questioning the strikes. He recalled PM Shri Narendra Modi's swift response to the Pulwama attacks, openly criticizing Pakistan and promising a strong retaliation. Within 10 days, airstrikes destroyed base camps in Pakistan. However, Congress demanded proof of the airstrikes.

 

Shri Nadda criticized Congress leader DK Shivakumar's brother, DK Suresh for suggesting a North-South India divide and a DMK MP for proposing Tamil Nadu as a separate nation. He emphasized that under PM Shri Narendra Modi's leadership, India is secure and steadily developing. Shri Nadda stated that CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, following PM Shri Narendra Modi's footsteps, has undertaken developmental works in the state. Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda urged the public to support the BJP to ensure PM Shri Narendra Modi's third term as Prime Minister and further the state and country's development.
