Hon’ble National President of Bharatiya Janata Party, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda addressed public meetings in Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Jagatsinghpur in Odisha on Thursday. Shri Nadda highlighted the remarkable development initiatives undertaken during the BJP government's tenure. He strongly criticized the INDI Alliance and the BJD for indulging in appeasement and corrupt practices. During the events, Odisha BJP President Shri Manmohan Samal, Keonjhar Lok Sabha candidate Shri Ananta Nayak, Vidhan Sabha candidate Shri Padma Charan Haiburu, Nabarangpur Lok Sabha candidate Shri Balabhadra Majhi, Bhadrak Lok Sabha candidate Shri Avimanyu Sethi, Jajpur Lok Sabha candidate Shri Rabindra Narayan Behera and Jagatsinghpur candidate Shri Bibhu Prasad Tarai, among other leaders, were present.
Shri Nadda remarked that this time it's evident that Odisha has made the decision to give all the 21 seats in the Lok Sabha to the Bharatiya Janata Party led by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. This time, the people of Odisha have resolved to provide ease to Naveen Babu while entrusting work to the BJP. A decade ago, there was a prevailing belief among everyone that India was stagnant, but today, under the leadership of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, the landscape of politics has been transformed in terms of strategy, integrity, demeanor, culture and definition. Presently, with the resolve of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, India is undergoing a transformation, instilling confidence in the populace that the nation is advancing towards ‘Viksit Bharat’. Previously, politics in India used to be centered around caste, religion and region. However, after Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji assumed office, the nation's politics has shifted towards the mantra of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’. Today, politics is based on development and performance.
Respected Shri Nadda emphasized that tribal people in the country were once merely viewed as a vote bank and their concerns were often neglected. However, Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi Ji has provided recognition, empowered and contributed to the advancement of all tribal communities. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji declared November 15 as Tribal Pride Day to boost the dignity of these communities. With his foresight, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has worked towards elevating the status of women and the entire state of Odisha by empowering a tribal daughter to become the President of the nation.
BJP National President pointed out the stark difference between Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s ‘Mazboot’ government and the ‘Majboor’ administration of the past decade. While the previous government would send dossiers to Pakistan in response to terrorist activities, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji's robust administration has taken decisive action. During the ‘Majboor’ government, terrorists from Kashmir were invited to the PM's office in Delhi and served biryani. They were urged not to engage in terrorist activities. Whereas, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s ‘Mazboot’ government abolished Article 370 in Kashmir and worked to integrate Kashmir as an integral part of India.
National President of BJP, Shri Nadda Shri Nadda highlighted that the people of Odisha face disparity under Naveen Babu's rule, while Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji is committed to justice. He mentioned the allocation of ₹2,442 crore for the development of railway lines in Jajpur, the inauguration of a container depot in Kalinganagar and the construction of a 4-lane road in Kamakhyanagar with ₹760 crore.
Respected Shri Nadda stated that Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has significantly increased the budget for Eklavya Residential Schools by 21 times to ensure quality education for tribal children. Previously, only 10 forest products were covered under the Minimum Support Price for tribal produce, but Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has expanded it to include 90 forest products. Moreover, a total of 12 crore ‘izzat ghar’ have been constructed nationwide to combat open defecation, with 1.5 crore of them specifically designated for tribal women and their families. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has diligently worked to empower villages, uplift the impoverished and support tribal communities. However, the government of the Biju Janata Dal has inflicted considerable hardship upon villages, the impoverished and tribal populations. Consequently, despite Odisha's abundant mineral resources and potential for mining and development, many of Odisha's poor are still forced to migrate in search of livelihood, even for basic meals.
Hon’ble Shri Nadda emphasized the transformation in India's approach, highlighting that Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has stated that even if a bullet is fired from Pakistan, the Indian soldier will not remain silent until the one who fired the bullet is eliminated. Through surgical strikes and air strikes, India has killed the terrorists of Pakistan by entering their homes. This is a changing India. If anyone looks at India in the wrong light, he will be given a reply by entering his territory.
BJP national President emphasized that India has surged ahead under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. After the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the economies of America, Europe, China, Japan and Russia are wavering. However, under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, India's economy has ascended from the 11th to the 5th position. If the people of Odisha re-elect Hon’ble Shri Modi Narendra ji as Prime Minister for the third time, India will emerge as the world's third-largest economic power within three years. Today, India has moved up to the third position in the automotive industry, surpassing Japan. In pharmaceutical exports, India has now risen to the second spot globally, producing the world's most affordable and effective medicines. India ranks second in steel production. A decade ago, mobile phones used to bear the label ‘Made in China’, ‘Made in Taiwan’, ‘Made in Japan’ and ‘Made in Korea’, but today, they hold the label of ‘Made in India’.
Respected Shri Nadda highlighted that Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji's policies have strengthened villages, uplifted the poor, supported Dalits, victims, marginalized communities, oppressed individuals, youth and farmers. Development is progressing in highways, internet access, railways, and air travel, with airports doubling in number. Through the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, 80 crore people across the nation, including 3 crore 20 lakh people in Odisha, are receiving 5 kg of wheat or rice and 1 kg of pulses, resulting in 25 crore people in India moving above the poverty line. Today, a new story of development is being penned.
Hon’ble Shri Nadda stated that optical fiber has been brought to 2 lakh panchayats and common service centers have been set up in 2 lakh villages. In the past, there were doubts about how digital schemes would function in a supposedly illiterate India. But today, even vegetable vendors are embracing digital payments. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has decided that in the next 5 years, India will be ‘Atmanirbhar’ in pulses and oil. India becoming the world's largest market for coarse grains, as referred to by Shree Anna, will empower farmers.
National President of BJP, Shri Nadda stated that under the Ujjwala Yojana, gas connections have been provided to 10 crore women across the country, including 53 lakh in Odisha. In the future, affordable gas will be delivered to the homes of the poor through gas pipelines. Additionally, 4 crore impoverished individuals have been allotted permanent homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. 3 crore more pucca housing will be constructed in the next 5 years and no individual will be left without a solid housing. Shri Nadda mentioned that a 344 km pipeline from Paradip to Haldia is being developed for the LPG import facility. Indian Oil is constructing a 1,212 km pipeline and 600 km of roads are being built as part of the Odisha Economic Corridor.
Respected Shri Nadda emphasized that under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, solar panels will be installed on every household's roof, eliminating electricity bills for people and the surplus electricity will be purchased by the government. Over 12 crore toilets have been built under the Swachh Bharat Mission and under the Jal Jeevan Mission, ‘Nal se Jal’ has been provided to over 11 crore households. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has not left any stone unturned in the development of Odisha. Grants-in-aid to Odisha have been tripled, an IIM has been established in Sambalpur, Bhubaneswar and Rourkela have been transformed into smart cities and only in Odisha, 4300 kilometers of national highways have been constructed. The development of the Raipur-Visakhapatnam Green Field Corridor is underway, with a twelvefold increase in the railway budget and Odisha has been granted four new airports. A four-lane highway project from Singara to Binjabahal section in Keonjhar, costing ₹1100 crore, is in progress and Similipal Kai Chutney has received the GI tag. Additionally, plans are underway to reroute Vande Bharat through Bhadrak and construct an overbridge at Bhadrak station, with an estimated cost of ₹6 crore. The BJP is committed to resolving the flood problem as well.
BJP National President highlighted that the current administration in Odisha is led by individuals who are not natives of the state but outsiders. If the people of Odisha choose to elect a BJP government in both the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections, a native of Odisha will become the Chief Minister. Currently, all contractors in Odisha are from outside and essential facilities like irrigation resources, cold storage, textile companies and sugar factories have been shut down. Furthermore, basic necessities such as bicycles for children, school uniforms and food security provisions are being supplied by outsourcing companies in Odisha. With the formation of a BJP government, farmers will receive ₹3100 per quintal of rice and paddy directly into their accounts. Women will benefit from a voucher worth ₹50,000 under the Subhadra Yojana, while financial assistance of ₹3000 will be provided to weavers aged between 40-60 years. 11 crore 78 lakh farmers, including 32 lakh from Odisha and 1 lakh 50 thousand from Jagatsinghpur, have benefited from the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji ensures that funds of ₹2000 reach these farmers' accounts every fourth month.
Respected Shri Nadda conveyed that the BJD government had looted the treasure from the Ratna Bhandar of Prabhu Jagannath and made the key disappear. Once the BJP government comes to power in Odisha, there will be a thorough investigation into the Ratna Bhandar and accountability will be demanded at every step. Naveen Babu is reluctant to implement the Ayushman Bharat Yojana. However, if the BJP forms the government, it will enact the scheme and offer free treatment worth ₹5 lakh to every individual above 70 years of age. The members of the INDI Alliance and Congress are focused solely on promoting corruption and dynastic politics by placing their own relatives in positions of power. The Calcutta High Court has invalidated the reservation and certificates provided to Muslims under the OBC quota sub-category in its recent ruling.
Hon’ble Shri Nadda expressed that Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has unequivocally stated that no one can tamper with the reservations for tribal communities, Dalits, and marginalized sections as long as he is in power. The INDI Alliance, along with Mamata Banerjee, Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and DMK members, is attempting to undermine the reservations for backward classes and grant them to Muslims, for appeasement. While the Ghamandia coalition resorts to ‘Tushtikaran’ by depriving some of their rights and favoring others, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has worked towards ensuring ‘Santushtikaran’ for all. Shri Nadda appealed to the public to support BJP legislators and Lok Sabha candidates to secure resounding victories, aiming to establish a BJP-led government both nationally and in Odisha.
