Hon’ble Union Home Minister & Minister Cooperation and Senior BJP leader Shri Amit Shah addressed the state convention meeting in Pune, Maharashtra on Sunday. Shri Shah highlighted the developmental work done by the Mahayuti government under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. He also criticized Congress and Sharad Pawar for engaging in corruption. During the meeting, Maharashtra Deputy CM Shri Devendra Fadnavis, State BJP President Shri Chandrashekhar Bawankule and Mumbai BJP President Shri Ashish Shelar, among other leaders were present.

Shri Shah commenced his address by paying homage to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj , Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Bajirao Peshwa and Veer Savarkar. Shri Shah then extended his best wishes to the people of Maharashtra on the occasion of Guru Purnima.

Union Home Minister mentioned that executive meetings across the country are being carried out under the guidance of BJP National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda. However, in Maharashtra, these efforts have a different focus and purpose. The nationwide executive meetings are aimed at preparing BJP karyakartas for a victory campaign after the 2024 elections. In Maharashtra, the efforts are also geared towards reviewing the 2024 elections and ensuring the formation of a BJP-led government once again in the state.

Shri Shah expressed his sincere congratulations and gratitude to all BJP karyakartas. He conveyed his observation regarding their hard work and dedication under intense heat during the election campaign. Each karyakarta in Maharashtra contributed significantly to the BJP's success. Today, the results are clear: for the first time in 60 years, a leader has taken the oath of Prime Minister for the third time, and that leader is Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. The BJP must now work towards achieving an even greater victory in the Maharashtra Assembly in 2024, building on the successes of 2014 and 2019.

Union Home Minister remarked that he had met several karyakartas and conveyed that little confusion was observed. The opposition has created some misinformation. In a democracy, the winning party forms the government, and in India, that government is led by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. Shri Shah reflected on his political career, noting that he had witnessed numerous victories and defeats and had seen people become arrogant after winning. While there are many examples of post-victory arrogance in global politics, Rahul Gandhi is uniquely demonstrating arrogance even after losing.

Shri Shah stated that the BJP won 240 seats, the NDA secured 300 seats, and even when the entire INDI alliance united, they did not reach 240 seats. If one adds up the Congress party's seats from the 2014, 2019 and 2024 elections, the total still falls short of 240. This election has shown that the people of India have endorsed Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s ten-year leadership, granting him the right to govern with a majority for the third time. Despite Congress having governed for ten years, it failed to secure 240 seats following the UPA’s governance. Although there is some dissatisfaction among BJP karakartas as they hold their expectations high, they do not sit idly with their heads down. Instead, set new goals. All the dissatisfaction will be addressed by achieving a complete victory in the Maharashtra Assembly, thereby ensuring the saffron wave once again.

Union Home Minister mentioned that when the BJP once secured only 2 seats, Rajiv Gandhi had then remarked "Hum Do Hamare Do". Now, the Congress has been in opposition for 15 years and it is evident that the BJP will govern the country. This victory is significant, after a decade of effective governance and with no anti-incumbency, the NDA has achieved a full majority for the third time.

Shri Shah stated that Maharashtra will witness the biggest poll in history and the Mahayuti government will be led by the BJP. To fulfill this, we must pledge that we are here not merely to form a government but to follow the ideology on which the party’s foundation is based. In the past 10 years, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has abolished Article 370 and ended the ‘Ek Desh, Do Pradhan, Do Vidhan’ policy. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has not only won the case of Ram Janmabhoomi but also built a divine Mandir for Ram Lalla. The Kashi Vishwanath corridor, which was demolished by Aurangzeb, has been renovated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister. Since entering politics, the BJP has advocated for the Uniform Civil Code. Under the 10 years of Shri Narendra Modi's governance, the UCC has been implemented in Uttarakhand. Terrorism and Naxalism have plagued the country for many decades, and for the sake of vote banks, no one dared to respond to terrorism. However, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has responded to terror attacks through surgical strikes and airstrikes, giving a befitting reply to terrorism.

Union Home Minister stated that in 2014, during an Odisha party committee meeting, he mentioned that the BJP is not a party to form a government for just 5 years, but to govern the country for 30 years. Shri Shah reiterated his stance that the BJP will continue to rule for over 30 years in the country. To achieve this, we must build our self-confidence and set aside personal grudges against each other. The creation of a great India is only possible through the foundation laid by the BJP under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya envisioned Antyodaya, and in the past 10 years, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has provided millions of poor people with houses, toilets, LPG cylinders, free ration, and free health cover of ₹5 lakh. In Maharashtra, the Ladli Behna and Ladka Bhaiya schemes will help those in need.  Congress and its leaders can never undertake genuine welfare work for the poor; it can only be done by the BJP. The Congress is engaged in spreading misinformation about the welfare of Dalits and the poor in Maharashtra. Congress needs to answer what it did for poor welfare after ruling for 58 years. Rather than following the footsteps of Mahatma Phule and Ambedkar, they insulted their ideologies. In the last 10 years, the BJP has focused on the welfare of the poor in Maharashtra.

Shri Shah stated that Congress has created several misconceptions about the BJP, claiming that the BJP would end reservations after forming the government. Initially, the BJP avoided addressing these questions, leading to public misinformation. However, it is clear that in the past 10 years, the BJP has worked to strengthen the reservation system. As the Maharashtra elections approach, many delusions are being spread by Sharad Pawar. He should understand that whenever there has been a BJP government in Maharashtra, the Maratha people have received reservations, which ended whenever Sharad Pawar came into power. In 2014, Maratha people were granted reservations after a Supreme Court verdict during the BJP government led by CM Shri Devendra Fadnavis. In 2020, when Sharad Pawar formed the government, Maratha reservations were ended. After forming the government again, the BJP has reinstated Maratha reservations. To ensure the continuation of reservations, the public should vote for the BJP government.

Union Home Minister clarified the rumors about the import of milk powder from other countries, stating that after consulting with Shri Piyush Goyal, it was confirmed that any circular claiming such news was fake and circulated by Sharad Pawar. He assured that not even a single gram of milk powder will be imported as long as there is a BJP government. Shri Shah termed Sharad Pawar as the biggest ‘Sargana’ (Kingpin) of corruption, accusing him of institutionalizing corruption in the central government. Shri Shah urged the karyakartas to focus solely on the ‘Lotus’ and work hard for the victory of their leaders. He emphasized that the result of the Maharashtra election will break all the delusions of the opposition. He further stated that after the BJP wins in Haryana, Jharkhand, and Maharashtra, the arrogance of Rahul Gandhi will be shattered.

Shri Shah criticized Sharad Pawar, questioning his contributions to the state during his tenure in both the state and central governments over the past 10 years, accusing him of making only fake promises. He highlighted that during the UPA rule, Maharashtra received only ₹1.91 lakh crore from the center. However, from 2014 to 2024, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has provided ₹10.05 lakh crore to Maharashtra.

Union Home Minister stated that the UPA did not work for the development of Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, and Nagpur. It was the Modi-led government that developed these four major cities of Maharashtra. For the extension of roadways and highways, the Centre granted ₹75,000 crore. For railways, ₹2.10 lakh crore was allocated, and ₹4,000 crore was provided for the development of airports. The state received an additional ₹1 lakh crore for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project. The 6-lane Atal Bihari Vajpayee sea link was inaugurated, and the Palkhi Marg was built at a cost of ₹11,000 crore. 34 new railway projects were sanctioned, and airports in Maharashtra were renovated at a cost of ₹561 crore. ₹2,600 crore was granted for the fisheries sector, benefiting 1.80 lakh fishermen. Shri Shah highlighted that Sharad Pawar was the Union Agriculture and Cooperation Minister for 10 years but could not solve the income tax issue of ₹10 thousand crores. However, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji solved this ₹10 thousand crore issue in just one and a half minutes.

Shri Shah stated that the Maharashtra government has passed a new budget. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has provided 33% reservation for women in Parliament and State Assemblies under the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam Bill. In line with this, Shri Devendra Fadnavis has ensured a monthly payment of ₹1500 to women under the Majhi Ladki Behen Yojana. Sharad Pawar questioned the novelty of this scheme, but he must answer why he did not introduce it in the state. However, he will not get the chance to implement it, as the BJP is set to form the government in Maharashtra once again.

Union Home Minister criticized Congress, noting that the public did not trust their ‘khatta khat’. Congress currently governs in three states, which are, Telangana, Himachal and Karnataka, where it has not even fulfilled one-third of its agenda. In contrast, not a single point from the BJP ‘s 2014 agenda remains unfulfilled and only 3% of the 2019 agenda remains pending. Major development projects in Maharashtra, such as the Samruddhi Expressway, Mumbai Coastal Road, Atal Setu, Mumbai-Nagpur and Pune Metros and Krishna-Bhima Stabilization, have been completed. The contributions of Deputy Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis from 2014 to 2019 will be remembered as a milestone in Maharashtra's development history. The BJP’s approach is to prioritize the needs of the poor, Dalits, backward classes and tribals over party or personal interests.

Shri Shah stated that on July 13 in Maharashtra, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji inaugurated and laid the foundation for a new project worth ₹30,000 crores. Shri Shah criticized the Congress party for showing more disrespect to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar than even the British did, and emphasized the need for every party karyakarta to spread this message to every household. The Bharatiya Janata Party has established five significant sites related to Dr. Ambedkar, while the Congress party never honored him with the Bharat Ratna. It is Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji who established Constitution Day and, as Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Narendra Modi Ji organized a yatra dedicated to the Constitution on January 26. The BJP has undertaken the construction of a grand memorial for Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in Delhi.

Union Home Minister emphasized that the Modi government has also reinforced national security, bringing the long-standing issue of Naxalism close to resolution. India will be free of Naxalism within two years. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has focused on inclusive progress rather than appeasement, ensuring the nation’s safety. The government has taken significant measures to eliminate terrorism. The country's security cannot be assured by the Aurangzeb Fan Club, led by Uddhav Thackeray and associated with the Maha Vikas Aghadi. Shri Shah highlighted that Uddhav Thackeray, who claims to be Babasaheb’s heir, is associating with those who fed biryani to Kasab, pleaded for Yakub’s release, hailed Zakir Naik as an ambassador of peace, supported PFI and opposed Sambhajinagar.

Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri Shah, while concluding his address, urged the karyakartas to recall the teachings of their forefathers and to prioritize the nation above all. He emphasized the principle of “Mujhse Pehle Meri Party Aur Meri Party Se Pehle Mera Desh” and called for a strong majority BJP-led NDA government in Maharashtra.
