Bharatiya Janata Party celebrates the birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, the architect of the unification of India after independence, the visionary and the country's first Deputy Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel ji, with great joy and enthusiasm throughout the country. Since Hon'ble Shri Narendra Modi ji took office as Prime Minister in 2014, the central government has been celebrating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel ji with great respect and honor across the nation.

On the occasion of Sardar Patel's 143rd birth anniversary on October 31, 2018, the Hon'ble Prime Minister unveiled the world's tallest statue, the Statue of Unity. This day is marked by various events organized by the central government, including 'Run for Unity,' where people pay their respects and humble tributes to Sardar Patel. Following the initiative of our successful Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, we have been celebrating Sardar Patel's birth anniversary as National Unity Day since 2014.

This year marks the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel. On this significant occasion, many programs will be organized by the Modi government. I humbly request the party workers to ensure their participation in these events and contribute to nation-building. Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji stated in the 115th edition of his popular program “Mann Ki Baat” that this year, on 31st October, the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel Ji coincides with the festival of Deepawali. Each year, we organize 'Run For Unity' on this day, recognized as "National Unity Day." However, due to Deepavali celebrations, this year's 'Run For Unity' will be held on Tuesday, 29th October. I urge everyone to participate in large numbers and spread the message of national unity as well as the importance of fitness. Party workers should make every effort to ensure the success of the "Run For Unity" program on 29th October. Additionally, I request all public representatives, including BJP MPs and MLAs, along with all party office bearers, to participate in this event and honor Sardar Patel Ji.
