Salient points of Press Conference of BJP National Spokesperson and MP Dr Sambit Patra

A family of Congress took possession of property worth Rs 5,000 crore by paying Rs 50 lakh. This is the masterstroke of the Gandhi family of Congress and the "masterplan of corruption".

****************

On one hand Rahul Gandhi defames the country by going to foreign lands and insults constitutional institutions, on the other hand he embezzles property worth thousands of crores of rupees in National Herald. Rahul Gandhi is a traitor.

****************

Rahul Gandhi, who is making such attacks on India abroad, should remember that he is a criminal and corrupt. National Herald is not a case of theft but of robbery. If Rahul Gandhi makes a hole in the plate in which he eats, then he will be called a traitor.

****************

No business, no newspaper, still profits - this is the Congress model of corruption. On top of that, Congress "chor machaye shor". The Congress family cannot escape this scam. Those who have looted the country should be punished according to the law.

****************

Rahul Gandhi is once again doing on foreign soil what he has been doing for years, damaging India's image and insulting the country.

****************

Rahul Gandhi is under the misconception that people will believe his words because he himself is out on bail on a bond of Rs. 50,000 in the corruption case.

****************

In America, Rahul Gandhi has insulted the great democracy of India by labeling the Election Commission as “compromised.” If Rahul Gandhi is unable to pursue politics in India, he should consider contesting elections in another country.

****************

Rahul Gandhi, who calls the Maharashtra elections a fraud, should first answer—did he strike a deal with the Election Commission in Jharkhand? And did Priyanka Gandhi compromise with the Election Commission just to win a by-election

****************

Rahul Gandhi, who is harping on the BJP's defeat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections when the BJP got 240 seats and the Congress got only 99 seats, should tell whether there was an agreement with the Election Commission even then?

****************

In the Lok Sabha elections, when the Indy alliance won more seats than the NDA in Maharashtra, was there an agreement with the Election Commission at that time? When Rahul Gandhi celebrated in Parliament that the BJP lost the Ayodhya seat, was there any kind of agreement behind it?

****************

The ED action has clearly revealed that through bogus advertisements, bogus rent and donations, the mother-son duo has produced "proceeds of crime" worth crores of rupees.

Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson and Lok Sabha MP Dr. Sambit Patra addressed a press conference at the central office of BJP in New Delhi on Monday. During the conference, Dr. Patra strongly said that In America, Rahul Gandhi has insulted the great democracy of India by labeling the Election Commission as “compromised.”Rahul Gandhi is traitor not just because he insults India's institutions while abroad, but also because he misappropriated property worth crores of rupees through the National Herald scam. Additionally, he questioned whether the Congress had “compromised” the Election Commission during the Jharkhand Assembly elections, Priyanka Gandhi's by-election, and the elections in Ayodhya.

Dr. Patra stated that two major developments have been in the spotlight since this morning.   The first is Rahul Gandhi once again doing what he has consistently done over the years—maligning India's image and insulting the nation on foreign soil. This time, he has defamed India in the United States. It's neither new nor the first time. The second significant news is that several senior Congress leaders are set to hold press conferences across the country, with the sole objective of shielding Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has named both Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in its charge sheet. The next court hearing is scheduled on 25th, and there is a possibility that both may be sent to jail—which, in fact, should happen. When the nation has been looted, punishment under the law must follow. In this context, the Congress party is trying to create an atmosphere of unrest across the country.

BJP National Spokesperson Dr. Patra stated that Rahul Gandhi, once again during his visit to the United States, tried to malign the image of India's Election Commission. But when a person—and his mother—are out on bail on a bond of ₹50,000, and such individuals go abroad to insult India, thinking people will believe their words, it is nothing but a delusion. Back in 2018, when the mother-son duo was granted bail in the National Herald case on a personal bond of ₹50,000 each, they had reached the party office celebrating — it was nothing short of a “celebration of corruption.” Today, the Congress party is trying to recreate that same celebration.

Dr. Patra stated that in the National Herald case, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi formed a company named “Young Indian.” Both of them hold a 76% stake in this company. This paper company, Young Indian, managed to get a loan of ₹90 crore—originally held by the holding company Associated Journals Limited (AJL)—transferred in its name for just ₹50 lakh. It means they paid ₹50 lakhs and took control of assets worth ₹5,000 crore. This is the Congress' masterstroke and corruption master plan. In this entire case, Young India showed loans taken through fraud—fake company, fake loan, and real occupation. Congress' favorites took control of properties like the Herald Building on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, prime land in Lucknow, assets in Bhopal, and properties in Himachal, among others, amounting to crores. Just yesterday, National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda elaborated on the occupation of properties in Himachal Pradesh.

BJP MP Dr. Patra stated that Congress leaders are claiming that no property was sold or moved, so where is the wrongdoing? The wrongdoing is exactly where Congress is deliberately hiding it. The ED's charge sheet clearly states that these properties were used to generate 'proceeds of crime,' meaning income from criminal activities. And Congress claims that nothing happened. The National Herald newspaper had shut down in 2008, so how was income being generated in its name? How was revenue being generated from crores worth of buildings? No business, no newspaper, yet profit – this is the Congress model of corruption. As the layers of this entire matter are unfolding, Congress is holding press conferences across the country. Now, it's "thieves make noise" because they are likely to be sentenced by the court. There are chances that the mother and son may have to go to jail, and they should, because those who have looted the country must be punished according to the law.

Dr. Patra stated that earlier, the Herald building on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg housed a newspaper, but after the newspaper shut down, Congress received ₹38 crore in exchange for bogus advertisements. When the list of advertisers was examined, it was found that a Congress leader had placed an advertisement wishing his son on his birthday, and another advertisement worth ₹50 crore was placed to wish Sonia Gandhi on her birthday. The question is, when the paper is not even being published, where are these advertisements being printed? Similarly, in the name of National Herald, ₹18 crore of bogus donations were generated, but there is no list of donors. After this, bogus advance rent was taken for the National Herald building. Several companies paid rent in the name of starting commercial activities, but no such activities ever took place. ED's action revealed that through these methods, Congress generated ₹988 crore as "proceeds of crime." If mother and son think they will escape, they are mistaken.

BJP National Spokesperson Dr. Patra stated that Rahul Gandhi, driven by frustration, is once again tarnishing India’s image and democratic values on foreign soil. During his three-day visit to the U.S., where he is scheduled to deliver a lecture at Brown University in Boston, he has made critical remarks about India. Ironically, this comes at a time when the U.S. Vice President is visiting India. This isn't new, Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, have previously criticized India abroad, such as during the Commonwealth Games. Now, he has gone so far as to label India’s Election Commission as “compromised” while speaking in the U.S. Rahul Gandhi claims that the voting pattern in the Maharashtra elections was fraudulent, suggesting that the BJP and its allies weren’t meant to win and that the Election Commission had allegedly compromised in their favor.  On this the Bharatiya Janata Party asked questions to Rahul Gandhi and expected his clarification:-

·      Whether Rahul Gandhi and Hemant Soren made a similar deal with the Election Commission during the Jharkhand elections, which were held around the same time?

·      Priyanka Vadra also won a by-election during that period and entered the House, carrying a Palestine-themed bag. Was her victory the result of some alleged deal brokered by Robert Vadra with the Election Commission? Or did she win through her own hard work?

·      After the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, where the BJP secured 240 seats and the Congress only 99, the Congress still declared it a victory and called it a defeat for the BJP. Was the Election Commission not “compromised” then?

·      In the Lok Sabha seats of Maharashtra, BJP got 9 seats and the Congress alliance got more seats, so was there an agreement with the Election Commission at that time?

·      When Rahul Gandhi celebrated in Parliament that the BJP lost the Ayodhya seat in the Loksabha Election, was there some kind of pact behind it?

Dr. Patra stated that the people of India now clearly understand Rahul Gandhi’s double standards: blaming the Election Commission when the Congress loses, and celebrating victories without question. This kind of hypocrisy will no longer be accepted. It is due to the Election Commission that India continues to conduct free and fair elections, upholding a vibrant democracy. Rahul Gandhi should not forget he is currently out on bail of ₹50,000. He stands accused in a serious case of corruption. The National Herald case is not just about misappropriation but a matter of large-scale fraud. Acquiring property worth ₹5,000 crore for just ₹50 lakh and evading ₹440 crore in income tax amounts to a massive financial crime. Dr. Patra further stated that both Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are involved in this scam, and it is shameful that despite facing such charges, Rahul Gandhi travels abroad and questions India’s democracy on foreign soil.

BJP National Spokesperson Dr. Patra emphasized that if Rahul Gandhi cannot continue his political career in India, he should consider contesting elections in another country. However, if he undermines the very system that has supported him, he will be branded a traitor. Rahul Gandhi is a traitor, not just because he disrespects India's institutions and degrades its democracy on foreign soil, but also because he has embezzled crores of rupees through the National Herald case. This embezzlement was carried out for his own benefit, his comfort, and his family's lust for power. Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi will not escape justice.

Dr. Patra suggested that Rahul Gandhi's frustration with the Election Commission would not lead to any significant outcomes. The National Herald case as straightforward, implying that both Rahul and Sonia Gandhi would eventually be held accountable and face imprisonment due to their involvement in the alleged fraud.
