Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson and Member of Parliament Dr. Sambit Patra addressed a press conference at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi, on Wednesday. Dr. Patra revealed the involvement of NCP (SCP) leader Supriya Sule and Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole in the 2018 cryptocurrency scam in Maharashtra. He also accused them of using the funds from this scam in the Lok Sabha elections-2019 and Maharashtra assembly elections-2024. Dr. Patra stated that Congress and Rahul Gandhi should clarify their position on this issue through a press conference.
National Spokesperson Dr. Patra urged the people of Jharkhand and Maharashtra to actively participate in festival of democracy by coming out in large numbers to vote. He encouraged them to vote for development, the progress of their state, and the nation in the ongoing assembly elections.
Dr. Patra has highlighted a significant uproar in the country concerning a Bitcoin-related issue. Media reports have implicated top leaders of the Maha Vikas Aghadi, including NCP leader Supriya Sule and Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole, in a scam involving approximately ₹235 crore. Details are emerging about the embezzlement and the alleged use of these funds in the current election campaign. This is not a minor scam but a massive one worth ₹235 crore, according to the details that have emerged. This is a serious issue, and naturally, it is important for not just Maharashtra but the entire nation to understand the matter. It must be noted how the Maharashtra Congress President was embezzling money under the orders of Rahul Gandhi, and similarly, NCP (SCP) leader and Baramati MP Supriya Sule was also involved in the embezzlement.
National Spokesperson Dr. Patra revealed that several individuals are involved in the scam, but the central figure is Ravindra Nath Patil, an ex-IPS officer from the 2004 batch. Patil left his position in 2010 to join the corporate sector, working with KPMG as a Cyber expert. In 2018, a cryptocurrency cyber fraud case emerged in Maharashtra, and Patil was tasked with investigating it. However, in a surprising turn of events, he was arrested in 2022 after some bitcoins went missing, for which he was accused. He remained in jail for 14 months under trial. After being released from jail, Ravindra Nath Patil thoroughly investigated the case for which he had been arrested. He had been an IPS officer in Pune, where two other officials were involved—Pune Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta and Pune Deputy Police Commissioner Bhagyashree Navtake. It was later discovered that during the 2018 cryptocurrency cyber fraud, both Amitabh Gupta and Bhagyashree Navtake had taken the wallet containing bitcoins and replaced it with a fake, empty wallet. They stole crores of rupees, then falsely accused Ravindra Nath Patil of the misappropriation, leading to his wrongful imprisonment.
Dr. Patra stated that when RN Patil and his associates were jailed in a misappropriation case, a Cyber expert named Gaurav Mehta, who worked for a company called Sarathi, testified against him. After 14 months in jail, when an IPS officer was released, Gaurav Mehta called RN Patil. Initially, Patil ignored the call, but after 4-5 hours, he answered. Mehta then revealed that the 14 months he spent in jail was based on a false case orchestrated by the IPS officer and Pune Commissioner Amitabh Gupta.
National Spokesperson Dr. Patra stated that Amitabh Gupta holds the real wallet, but there is another layer to the case involving leaders like Supriya Sule and Nana Patole. When RN Patil asked Gaurav Mehta for proof, Mehta sent several audio clips via the Signal app. These clips, now in the media, clearly establish a nexus that has been in place since 2018. The stolen wallet, according to the audio evidence, was used during the Lok Sabha elections-2019 and the Maharashtra Assembly elections-2024 by Supriya Sule, Nana Patole, and their respective parties.
Dr. Patra claimed that there are four such clips of Supriya Sule. In one clip, Sule allegedly warns Gaurav Mehta, saying, "Don’t play games with me," and tells him she knows he has Bitcoin, advising him to go to Dubai to encash it. In another clip, she reportedly reassures him, saying there is no need to worry about the inquiry, as he won't get caught, and that once their government is formed, they will take care of it. Today, Supriya Sule denied the authenticity of these audio tapes, calling them AI-generated, while her brother confirmed that the voice in the clips is indeed hers. Supriya Sule but also Nana Patole is involved in this scandal.
National Spokesperson Dr. Patra claimed that in one audio clip, Patole allegedly tells Amitabh Gupta, "Don’t play games with him," expressing dissatisfaction with the amount he is receiving and demanding more money. Similarly, another IPS officer, Bhagyashree, is heard in a clip saying she is coming herself and wants money encashed from Bitcoin. Gaurav Mehta also shared an audio clip in which he mentioned traveling to Dubai multiple times to encash 50 crore rupees each time. He stated that this money was used in the Lok Sabha elections- 2019 and the Maharashtra Assembly elections- 2024 by Supriya Sule and Nana Patole.
National Spokesperson Dr. Patra stated that the Signal app chatbox reveals that, apart from Supriya Sule and Nana Patole, there are several other 'big players' involved in the alleged corruption. He further claimed that the "biggest players" in the Congress party are the “Mom and Son” that is Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. With ₹235 crore allegedly at stake, the accusations go beyond mere allegations, suggesting a scheme orchestrated under Rahul Gandhi's direction.
Bharatiya Janata Party asked questions to Rahul Gandhi, Nana Patole and Supriya Sule and expected answers from them-
· Did Rahul Gandhi did not instruct Nana Patole?
· The way Supriya Sule is instructing in the audio clip that 'Don't play with me, I need money immediately” and after that the transaction of Rs 235 crore happened, what is the reality behind it?
· Once You (Rahul Gandhi) presented a fake 'safe' and fake picture, but now real crypto currency wallet and real bit-coins have come out. Will Rahul Gandhi hold a press conference to talk about this issue and clarify his stand? After which a transaction of ₹235 crores took place, what is the reality behind it?
BJP National Spokesperson Dr. Sambit Patra mentioned that everyone is wondering why Gaurav Mehta is making such claims just two or three days before the elections. After reviewing an interview with RS Patil, he explained that Gaurav Mehta is likely in fear. Once the Bitcoin wallet goes empty and the money is encashed and given to his masters, Supriya Sule and Nana Patole; Mehta fears he will be eliminated or murdered. To protect his life, Gaurav Mehta has revealed the entire truth to an officer and sought its exposure in the media. He wants the public to be aware so that, if anything happens to him, the people behind it are held accountable. By making these revelations public, Mehta hopes to gain a form of immunity, as the awareness of such a conspiracy would deter individuals like Nana Patole, Supriya Sule, and Rahul Gandhi from taking any action against him. In an effort to safeguard himself, Mehta has brought the hidden details of the alleged Bitcoin transactions and their use in elections to light. The audio tapes now circulating in the media raise serious questions. Dr. Patra asked Rahul Gandhi, "You recently presented a fake 'tijori' and fabricated photograph, but now the real cryptocurrency wallet and actual bitcoins have been exposed. Will you address this issue in a press conference and clarify the stance?"
