Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Dr Sudhanshu Trivedi addressed a press conference at the party’s headquarters, on Thursday and strongly condemned the Congress Party for presenting a distorted map of India during its session in Belagavi, Karnataka. He questioned Congress' connections with anti-India forces, stating that this is not the first instance of the party tampering with India's map and there is ample evidence to prove it.

Dr Trivedi conveyed that today the entire nation is celebrating ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ on the sacred occasion of the sacrifice of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s Sahibzaades but another troubling image has surfaced that during a Congress event in Belagavi, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Aksai Chin were missing from the map of India in the posters put up by the Congress Party. It is reported that the banners and flexes which have been put up by the Congress Party at the entrance of Belagavi city have a distorted map of India where parts of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Aksai Chin area appear to be missing from the map used in the banners and welcome boards. Shockingly, this map was shown alongside a photo of Mahatma Gandhi.

BJP National Spokesperson stated that similar incidents have happened before too, with some tweets later deleted. Is this the India for which Maharana Pratap, Shivaji Maharaj, Rani Lakshmibai, Bhagat Singh, Guruputras sacrificed and gave up their lives for? This is the Bharat Maa whose partition caused no shame to the Congress and yet today the party presents the distorted image and dishonors her integrity.

Dr Trivedi stated that it is now evident that Congress' association with forces envisioning the division of India is undeniable. This conclusion is not drawn from a single incident, Congress has repeatedly tampered with India’s map.  On October 24, 2024, DMK, Congress' key ally in South India, shared a tweet featuring an Indian map that omitted PoK and Aksai Chin. Likewise, on September 30, 2022, senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, during his campaign for the party’s internal elections, released a manifesto through a tweet. This tweet (later deleted but with screenshots still accessible) also displayed a map excluding PoK and Aksai Chin.

BJP National Spokesperson stated that on February 12, 2020, during the early days of the Covid pandemic, Rahul Gandhi posted a tweet in which India’s map was missing PoK and Aksai Chin. In another tweet by Rahul Gandhi, the entire Northeast region of India was omitted, which then prompted strong objections from Assam Chief Minister Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma. On December 21, 2019, Shashi Tharoor posted another tweet where PoK and Aksai Chin were again missing.  Today, the BJP wants to ask Congress a direct and clear question: Why has Congress, in its posts on Twitter (now ‘X’) repeatedly depicted India with parts of its territory missing over the years? Even Congress’ women’s wing once posted a similar map showing the same omissions. Is this mere coincidence, or part of a deliberate anti-India agenda? Who is orchestrating this repeated misrepresentation of India’s map by Congress? Is this being done under instructions from external anti-India forces, like a signal from Soros secret service, or other foreign entities across the seas?

Dr Trivedi emphasized that this issue goes beyond just maps. During the CAA protests, Congress aligned itself with those who suggested cutting the chicken neck and separating the Northeast from India. Congress stood alongside those who chanted “Bharat Tere Tukde Honge.” Dr. Trivedi questioned the grounds for Congress's actions and stated that, technically, Congress is now the main opposition party, as they have not had the necessary number of seats to be recognized as the principal opposition in the last two Lok Sabha terms. Every Member of Parliament takes an oath stating, "I will uphold the unity and integrity of India," and the Congress party and its leaders are violating this constitutional oath. Congress's anti-national face is now visible to everyone. The party has previously tried to divide the country through politics and continues to do so, whether by breaking states, communities, or castes, always working to create divisions.

BJP National Spokesperson pointed out that Congress leader D.K. Suresh had stated that South India is paying higher taxes. When a journalist asked if the region would consider separating, he responded that they might even think about it. Saifuddin Soz, former President of Jammu Kashmir Congress, wrote in his book that Kashmir should separate from India. During Rahul Gandhi's ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ in Tamil Nadu, Father George Ponniah, who participated, expressed the belief that the land of India is so impure that he wears shoes to avoid his feet touching it.

Dr Trivedi questioned the Congress party, asking whether any internal discussion had taken place in Belagavi about dividing India in some way. It was also asked if this was an expression of such sentiments or part of a proposal or ideological stance within Congress. Furthermore, it was raised whether the party's high command had formed a committee focused on making anti-national statements and attempting to incite conflict within India. A minister from Tamil Nadu made derogatory comments about the people of Bihar, while the Congress Chief Minister of Telangana also used offensive language against the people of North India and Bihar. The Congress mindset of spreading hatred is evident – they aim to gain power by dividing the country and society, insulting its culture, and sowing division based on class, region, and language.

BJP National Spokesperson Trivedi emphasized that the Congress, which has been continuously displaying maps of India, has clearly exposed its agenda. The Bharatiya Janata Party assures that under the leadership of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, the government is fully alert to such forces. Just as the government remains vigilant, the people are equally watchful, keeping a close eye on these forces. Their schemes will never succeed. Dr. Trivedi recited, ‘Jaati prant aur aarg bheed ke bhram ko door bhagata hai, sabke man ka bhav ek hai, sabki Bharat Mata hai.
