Salient Points of Press Conference of BJP National Spokesperson Shri Gaurav Bhatia

Arvind Kejriwal and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi Marlena have exploited innocent and vulnerable children for their self-serving political agenda, which is highly unfortunate. Despite public outcry, they have not removed the related posts on 'X.'

***************

As defeat looms and Kejriwal feels his ground slipping, he is now suddenly recalling Hindus and Sikhs, despite his previous stance against Sanatan Dharma.

***************

This is the same Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party who, in their support for liquor traders, opened liquor shops outside temples and gurdwaras. Now, for votes, they are making false promises to priests and granthis. If they truly cared about them, why didn’t they consider them over the past 10 years?

***************

"Aisa koi saga nahi, jise Arvind Kejriwal ne thaga nahi" (There is no one Kejriwal hasn’t deceived). Making false promises has become a habit for Kejriwal. He has failed to fulfill his promises to the people of Delhi and Punjab.

***************

With elections approaching, Arvind Kejriwal is once again engaging in his game of lies. Making empty promises and deceiving the public is the real face of Kejriwal.

***************

This is the same Aam Aadmi Party that once tweeted a picture of the sacred swastika being swept away in a bid for appeasement politics. This is also the Kejriwal who opposed the construction of the Shri Ram Mandir.

***************

Known for his appeasement politics, Kejriwal had promised to pay maulvis ₹18,000 per month, yet he has failed to fulfill this promise, leaving them unpaid for the last 17 months.

***************

Kejriwal has failed to deliver on his promises of building schools and hospitals, providing clean drinking water, creating jobs, installing CCTV cameras, running DTC buses, and offering free Wi-Fi.

***************

He misled the public with his promise to clean the Yamuna, while simultaneously causing harm to the people of Delhi through rising pollution levels.

***************

When it was time to present his report card to the people of Delhi, Kejriwal resorted to making new false promises. The people of Delhi will defeat him and the Aam Aadmi Party, showing them their rightful place.

***************

The people of Delhi have declared that they will celebrate a 'Happiness Festival' by ousting Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party, as they rally to bring the BJP to power with their support.

Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson Shri Gaurav Bhatia addressed a press conference at the party's central office on Tuesday. During the conference, Shri Bhatia criticized Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi Marlena for exploiting children by dragging them into politics, violating the Juvenile Justice Act, and disregarding the NHRC's directive to remove posts on the ‘X’ platform involving children. He highlighted AAP’s governance failures, including unfulfilled promises of schools, jobs and a cleaner Yamuna. Shri Bhatia also criticized Arvind Kejriwal's deceptive politics, false promises, and his new hollow promises, such as providing ₹18,000 to pujaris and granthis, despite having denied the same amount to maulvis whom he had promised earlier.

Shri Bhatia remarked that Kattar Beimaan Arvind Kejriwal has now also proven to be a hypocrite and deceiver. The AAP convenor, Arvind Kejriwal, has stooped so low that he didn't even spare Delhi's children. While politics has its place, using innocent children to engage in dirty and petty politics is something Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi have mastered.

BJP National Spokesperson Shri Bhatia further mentioned that on December 30, the NHRC issued an order pointing out that Kejriwal and Atishi violated the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015, by using videos of innocent children and dragging them into politics. On February 5, 2024, the Election Commission of India released guidelines explicitly stating that children should not be involved in political statements, activities, or presence in any form.

Shri Bhatia stated that the NHRC has emphasized that the 'X' posts by Kejriwal and Atishi, which involve dragging children into politics, exploiting them, and jeopardizing their future, is unacceptable and must be removed immediately. However, Kejriwal has yet to take down the post. Shri Bhatia cited the NHRC's order, which is: "The participation of children in political campaign activities raises serious concerns. NHRC is deeply concerned about such 'X' posts. We take the firm view that the above-mentioned post should be immediately removed and taken down."

BJP National Spokesperson Shri Gaurav Bhatia stated that the anti-children attitude of Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi Marlena raises three very critical issues:

·      Why are Kejriwal and Atishi involving innocent children and violating their dignity, which is a fundamental right, through these campaigns?  Is Kejriwal aware that he is losing the Delhi elections?

·      Why are Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi Marlena violating Article 21 of the Constitution of India, which guarantees personal dignity to our children? Why are they breaching the Juvenile Justice Act? The laws of the country seem to hold no meaning for Chief Minister Atishi Marlena, who has taken an oath on the Constitution to protect and uphold it.

·      Why are they manipulating young, impressionable minds and dragging them into the cheap and dirty politics of the AAP? This is the question being asked by citizens of Delhi and the country. It is our responsibility to shield these young and impressionable minds from the petty and disgraceful politics of AAP.

Shri Bhatia emphasized that the BJP will continue to fight against this and ensure that Arvind Kejriwal, the destroyer of the Constitution and an enemy of children, is ousted from power. The people of Delhi deserve better—a government that serves them with dignity and integrity.

BJP National Spokesperson Shri Bhatia highlighted that this is not the first time Arvind Kejriwal has shown such disregard for the future of India and Delhi—its children. In the infamous 'classroom/bathroom' scam, Kejriwal effectively suggested that children in Delhi would no longer study in proper classrooms but instead sit on toilet seats and study in bathrooms because, according to him, toilets could serve as classrooms. This was Kejriwal's twisted vision. While he maintained cozy ties with liquor traders, he showed appalling neglect toward the children of Delhi. Kejriwal even appointed Satyender Jain, a POCSO-accused and alleged rapist, as a therapist. It is widely known that Kejriwal is a master of political theatrics. When students in grades 10 and 12 began failing exams, he worried about his image being tarnished. Instead of focusing on providing quality education, he chose to deliberately fail students in grades 9 and 11 so that the results for grades 10 and 12 would appear more favorable. Failing students in grades 9 and 11 and then celebrating a 'happiness festival' with them reflects Kejriwal’s utterly toxic mindset. Instead of improving classroom facilities and ensuring quality education, Kejriwal chose to use such tactics. As Delhi LG rightly noted, Arvind Kejriwal himself refers to his party's Chief Minister as 'temporary.' Now, the people of Delhi echo the same sentiment. By removing AAP from power, delivering an unexpected and decisive defeat, and ousting them from politics, the people of Delhi are preparing to celebrate their own 'happiness festival' because BJP is set to take charge.

Shri Bhatia stated that Arvind Kejriwal did not even spare his own children; he swore upon them that he would not take support from the Congress. However, when he became Chief Minister for the first time, it was with Congress's support, breaking his promise. If someone is not loyal to their own children, what can be expected from them for the children of the public?

BJP National Spokesperson Shri Bhatia remarked that Arvind Kejriwal had promised to provide Delhi with 500 new schools, but he has failed miserably. Not a single new school has been built by the AAP in the past 10 years of governance. Instead, 16 schools have been shut down. The situation in Delhi's schools is alarming: there are no principals in many schools, and 80% of positions remain vacant. It is deeply concerning that, realizing his political ground is slipping, Kejriwal is now politicizing our children. But we will not let that happen. The people of Delhi and India will respond to this because children are the future of our nation.

Shri Bhatia stated that one might wonder what happened to anti-Hindu Arvind Kejriwal that he is now coming up with new promises. The reason is that Kejriwal has realized the false promises he made have not been fulfilled, and his political career is nearing its end. To save his dwindling political ground, he is making new hollow promises. Kejriwal had promised to provide 8 lakh government jobs in 5 years, but the data from 2015-2020 reveals that only 440 jobs were provided. He also promised to improve healthcare and build hospitals but failed to deliver on that front as well.  Now, when he makes new false promises, such as providing ₹18,000 per month to pujaris and granthis, one must question his intentions. Until now, AAP has been granting liquor contracts near Gurudwaras, temples, and other sacred places, and now Kejriwal is doing politics on the same grounds. It would not be wrong to say, "Chunav ki bela hai, Arvind Kejriwal ka naya jhooth ka khela hai." Till now, he was engaged in appeasement politics, claiming to provide ₹18,000 per month to Maulvis. However, he has betrayed them as well, failing to pay the promised amount for the past 17 months.

BJP National Spokesperson Shri Bhatia stated that Arvind Kejriwal had tweeted, praising his government's so-called good work. However, it is now time for Kejriwal to present his report card. He failed to fulfill his promises: 500 new schools were to be built, but none were constructed; 20 new colleges were promised but not delivered; 15 lakh CCTV cameras were not installed; 5,000 DTC buses were not added; 8 lakh jobs were promised but remain unfulfilled; 2 lakh toilets were not constructed; and the promise to provide WiFi across Delhi was also not kept. Mohalla Clinics are deteriorating, the Yamuna remains polluted, and even Kejriwal himself has admitted his failure to clean it.

Shri Bhatia stated that it would not be wrong to say that Indian politics has never seen a leader more deceptive and dishonest than Arvind Kejriwal. When it comes time to showcase his report card and address his unfulfilled promises, he conveniently forgets his old commitments and instead makes new false promises. It is crucial for the people of Delhi to give him a befitting reply and show him what happens to those in Indian politics who repeatedly lie to the public.
