Former Cabinet Minister of Delhi Government, Shri Kailash Gahlot Joined the Bharatiya Janata Party

Former Cabinet Minister of Delhi Government and Aam Adami party leader Shri Kailash Gahlot has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in the presence of  BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Virendra Sachdeva, Union Minister Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, Union Minister Shri Harsh Malhotra, BJP National General Secretary Shri Dushyant Gautam, BJP National Vice President Shri Baijayant Panda, Delhi assembly LoP Shri Vijender Gupta and BJP National Media In-Charge & MP Shri Anil Baluni at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi on Monday.

Welcoming Shri Gehlot into the BJP family, Shri Sachdeva stated that influenced and inspired by the leadership and policies of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, Shri Gahlot has decided to join the BJP. Shri Sachdeva expressed hope that Shri Kailash Gahlot’s experience would benefit the BJP and aid in better serving the people of Delhi.

BJP National Vice President Shri Baijayant Panda remarked that Shri Gahlot’s inclusion in the BJP highlights the shattered self-confidence of the AAP. Over the past 10 years, the AAP has only made false promises without delivering on them. The AAP government has halted key schemes like Ayushman Bharat, one of the largest health schemes under Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji, which has the potential to drive Delhi towards progress.

Union Minister Shri Khattar stated that the inclusion of a senior leader and former minister like Shri  Gahlot in the BJP marks a turning point in Delhi politics. Inspired by the BJP’s organizational strength, Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s policies, and the party’s ideology, Shri Gahlot has decided to join the BJP. Shri Khattar emphasized that Shri Gahlot must have observed the BJP’s governance style in the past 10 years, and his experience will play a crucial role in the upcoming Delhi elections, where the BJP is poised to form the government.

After joining the BJP, Mr Gahlot expressed his gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, and BJP National President Shri JP Nadda for giving him the opportunity to join the BJP. He thanked Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji for providing the chance to work under his leadership, inspired by their policies, working style, and vision. Shri Gahlot clarified that his decision to join the BJP was neither overnight nor made under pressure, emphasizing that he has never operated under duress in his entire political career. He dismissed claims of joining under ED or CBI pressure as baseless. Shri Gahlot stated that he and many leaders joined AAP with the ideology of serving the people of Delhi, but those values and motives have been compromised before their eyes. He remarked that if Delhi's Chief Minister focuses solely on opposing the central government on every issue, Delhi’s development will remain neglected. Shri Gahlot stated “Our ambition was to work for Delhi and not to put our personal interests first.” Shri Kailash Gahlot added that he firmly believes only a BJP-led government at the Centre can ensure Delhi’s progress, which is why he has decided to join the BJP.
