With deep sorrow, I condole the passing away of one of the giants of the Indian Industry, Shri Ratan Tata.

 

Among the Indian business houses, Tatas have been the one that I have admired the most. And this is due to the immense dedication, vision and integrity with which Ratan Tata ji steered the Tata group to glory for many decades, thus leaving an indelible mark on the Indian Industry.

 

He indeed proved to be a worthy successor of the very inspiring late Shri J R D Tata, with whom I had the opportunity to interact with on numerous occasions.

 

My last communication with Ratan Tata ji was in February this year when I received a warm letter from him congratulating me on being awarded with the Bharat Ratna.

His warmth, generosity and kindness had always been very endearing.

 

The nation will remain indebted to Shri Ratan Tata-he was truly a legend. May his soul rest in peace. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and innumerable admirers.
