Salient Points of Press Conference of BJP National Spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi
After the Pahalgam terror attack, firing is taking place from Pakistan side on the border, while the leaders of Congress and Indy alliance are demoralizing the Indian army by firing their statements.
**************
Congress UP state president Ajay Rai calls India's Rafale a toy and demoralizes the Indian Army. From Siddaramaiah to Ajay Rai, Congress leaders are doing the same. They are also insulting Sanatan culture by making fun of the swastika engraved on the Rafale.
**************
On one hand, Pakistan is terrified by the roar of Rafale on the Ganga Expressway in Uttar Pradesh, but in the same state, the Congress state president is making fun of Rafale and the Indian Army. What can be more shameful than this?
**************
Due to the steps taken by Shri Narendra Modi government, today Pakistan is looking at the Indian Army with fear, while the Indian alliance and the Congress are looking at the Indian Army with a evil eyes. It seems that today the Congress and Indian leaders have an evil eyes on the Indian Army.
**************
Pakistan says that it wants peace and on the other hand it carries out terrorist activities. Congress and its alliance parties also formally talk about being with the Indian government but on the other hand its leaders make statements against the Indian army.
**************
The news channels of Pakistan are praising the Congress and the parties of the Indo-Pak alliance and their leaders. They demand proof of the surgical and air strikes from the Indian army. Pakistan accepts the surgical and air strikes but they want proof.
**************
According to former Air Force chief Fali Homi Major, the Indian Air Force was fully prepared after the 26/11 attacks, but the Manmohan Singh government did not allow action. The Congress government also kept the Rafale deal on hold.
**************
When the country needs unity, Congress leaders are making statements like calling the Rafale fighter plane a toy; this is also attacking the morale of the brave soldiers of the country.
**************
During Congress rule, our army used to win in the battlefield, but the governments used to return after losing everything, only because Congress had to create the “face of reconciliation”, even if that face had to be created with the blood of Indian soldiers.
**************
The term ‘Fifth Column’ was mentioned during the Spanish Civil War, which means – “when some people from within help the enemy.” Today, the Congress and Indy Alliance also seem to be doing the same with their statements.
**************
While on one hand the Indian Defence Minister is having serious talks with the Japanese Defence Minister, on the other hand the politics being played by the opposition is extremely sad and condemnable. The Modi government is fully prepared to give an effective and determined response on both the fronts of war and diplomacy.

Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi addressed a press conference at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi, on Monday. During the conference, Dr. Trivedi strongly condemned Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai for mocking the Rafale fighter jets and referring to them as ‘toys,’ calling it deeply unfortunate and shameful. After the Pahalgam attack, while Pakistan continues its cross-border firing, Congress and the INDI Alliance leaders are weakening the morale of our armed forces with their statements.
Dr. Trivedi stated that following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, tensions have escalated along the India-Pakistan border, with Pakistan repeatedly violating the ceasefire. While there is heavy shelling from across the border, leaders of the Congress and the INDI alliance are simultaneously launching a barrage of statements targeting the Indian Army. Just as Pakistan aims to demoralize our forces through its aggression, these leaders, through their remarks, seem to be attempting the same. Their statements, like enemy bullets, are directed at weakening the morale of our armed forces.
BJP National Spokesperson Dr. Trivedi highlighted that the Congress and the INDI alliance project a façade of standing with the government, yet their senior leaders like Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, and now Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai, repeatedly issue statements that are overtly anti-national and aimed at undermining the morale of our armed forces. This duplicity is no different from Pakistan’s approach: publicly preaching peace while covertly sponsoring terrorism. Congress mirrors this hypocrisy, on one hand, claiming solidarity with the government and, on the other, targeting the Army through divisive rhetoric.
Dr. Trivedi remarked that the Congress party has a long history of misplaced priorities, during its time in power, it never once suspended peace talks with Pakistan, regardless of how many terrorist attacks took place. In stark contrast, under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji over the past 11 years, not a single formal bilateral dialogue has been held with Pakistan. This clearly highlights the fundamental difference in approach between the BJP and the Congress. At a time when the country needs unity and resolve, the Congress is engaging in rhetoric that is not only anti-national but also harmful to the morale of our armed forces.
BJP National Spokesperson Dr. Trivedi condemned Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai for mocking the Rafale fighter jet, comparing it to a toy and ridiculing it by associating it with superstitions like lemons and chilies. How tragic is it that just a day ago, in this very region of eastern Uttar Pradesh, a Rafale fighter jet performed a successful landing and takeoff on the Ganga Expressway, sending a bold message to anti-India and pro-Pakistan forces. The Rafale, whose roar strikes fear in Pakistan, is being mocked by Congress in an attempt to weaken the morale of our brave soldiers. It seems that Pakistan’s military now fears India’s strength, but Congress and its partners look at our armed forces with evil eyes. It is widely believed in Indian culture that lemons and chilies protect against the evil eye. Today, the Indian Army doesn’t need protection from Pakistan, it needs protection from the toxic gaze of Congress and the INDI alliance.
Dr. Trivedi highlighted that when the Rafale jets were inducted into the Indian Air Force, Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh performed a traditional ritual in France, marking the aircraft with a ‘Swastik’, a sacred symbol in Hindu culture. The Congress seems unaware that the Indian armed forces officially appoint religious instructors, and soldiers are trained in a manner that respects their individual faiths and spiritual traditions. Even the battle cries raised during combat often draw inspiration from the soldiers' religious beliefs. While Congress frequently mocks Hindu customs and symbols, Pakistan’s army openly recites the Kalma as part of its military rituals. In India, the armed forces reflect the nation's spiritual diversity with pride, the Bihar Regiment chants “Bajrang Bali ki Jai,” the Gorkha Regiment roars “Aayo Gorkhali, Jai Mahakali,” and the Rajput Regiment proclaims “Raja Ramchandra ki Jai.” These slogans are not just words, but a source of strength and morale for the soldiers.
National Spokesperson Dr. Trivedi questioned, will the Congress mock these sentiments too? The term ‘Fifth Column’, coined during the Spanish Civil War, referred to internal traitors who aided the enemy while the nation was under attack from all sides. Today, Congress and its alliance seem to have assumed a similar role in India, acting as a Fifth Column that boosts the morale of our adversaries through their reckless statements. In a striking irony, even Pakistani leaders are being quoted in Indian media speaking in support of India, while our own opposition parties issue remarks that run counter to the national interest. Pakistan itself acknowledges that the Indian Army is far stronger than its own. Under the resolute leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Government of India stands firm and fully committed to safeguarding the nation with unwavering determination.
Dr. Trivedi stated that in one particular aspect, Pakistan appears stronger than India — and that is the fact that no leader in Pakistan ever makes statements that demoralize their own army. In contrast, several opposition leaders in India have repeatedly made controversial and demoralizing remarks about the armed forces. Notably, no such statements from Pakistani leaders targeting their military are ever seen in the Indian media. Statements by Congress and INDI alliance leaders like Siddaramaiah and Channi are being prominently featured in Pakistani media. Political analysts and panelists on their TV debates are citing Indian opposition leaders by name and claiming, “Not all of India stands with Modi ji.” There are video evidences showing Pakistani commentators describing India’s opposition parties as being “on their side.” Even the opposition has a responsibility to act in a manner that upholds national unity and does not embolden adversaries.
BJP National Spokesperson Dr. Trivedi referred to an incident between 2010 and 2012, when then Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif made a derogatory remark about India’s then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, referring to him as a “Dehati Aurat.” At that time, Shri Narendra Modi Ji, who was the then Chief Minister of Gujarat, gave a sharp response, stating that Pakistan had no right to make such comments about the Prime Minister of India. In 1995, when Pakistan was about to bring a resolution against India at the United Nations. At that time, despite being in the opposition, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee led the Indian delegation and extended full support to the then Narasimha Rao government. Even Pakistan’s Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto appreciated the constructive role played by India’s opposition. Today, the situation is completely reversed, both the ruling and opposition parties in Pakistan stand united in support of their army, whereas in India, the opposition is frequently seen making statements against the armed forces. Some leaders demand proof of the surgical strikes, while others raise questions about the Pulwama attack. Former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, had admitted in the Pakistani Parliament that after the Balakot strike, India was planning something even bigger. Additionally, then Minister Fawad Chaudhry also acknowledged in the National Assembly that “we struck inside Pulwama.” Despite such clear admissions, if any political party in India still demands proof, they should be utterly ashamed of themselves. A Pakistani MP even stated in Parliament that after the Balakot strike, when Army Chief Shah Mahmood Qureshi was briefed, he was visibly trembling and pleaded to return Wing Commander Abhinandan, fearing that India would launch a full-scale attack by evening if they didn’t.
Dr. Trivedi stated that Imran Khan once said in a public rally that conditions would not improve until a government led by the opposition came to power in India. Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar had even sought Pakistan’s help in “removing the Modi government.” Another Congress leader, Saifuddin Soz, endorsed former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf’s statement in his book, which said that “Kashmir should be separated from India.” Whether inside the country or outside, it is imperative to stand united in support of the government and the armed forces—not engage in statements against the military for political gain. At present, the Government of India stands firm with resolve and diplomatic competence. On one hand, while India’s Defence Minister is engaged in serious discussions with his Japanese counterpart, the kind of politics being played by the opposition is extremely unfortunate and condemnable. Despite this, the Government of India wants to assure the citizens that the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has made it clear, the perpetrators of this incident will be hunted down to the very ends of the earth and will be punished with a penalty so unprecedented that history will have no parallel for it.
National Spokesperson Dr. Trivedi Dr. Trivedi reminded the Congress party that these are the same people who, after our army achieved victory on the battlefield, made them face defeat at the diplomatic table. Today, the Congress party has the audacity to call our Air Force jets “toys,” even though after the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, the Indian Air Force was fully prepared to strike. Referring to the memoirs of former Air Force Chief Fali Homi Major, published in 2016, Dr. Trivedi pointed out that during that time, the Manmohan Singh government denied the Air Force permission to act. While the Congress government kept fighter jets as mere showpieces, today, under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji, our government ensures these resources are strategically ready, following effective diplomatic maneuvering.
Dr. Trivedi stated that during Congress rule, India’s soldiers would secure victories on the battlefield, but the government would return home having surrendered those gains, simply to present an illusion of peace. That illusion often came at the cost of soldiers’ blood. Congress was more concerned with diplomacy that looked good than with outcomes that truly served the nation. Such was the state of their foreign policy that China walked away with India’s “rose”, a symbolic reference to Nehru’s failure. While Nehru may not have worn a rose on his coat, China took the real one from India. In Tashkent, India lost its “Lal” (Lal Bahadur Shastri), and Congress kept dressing up defeat as diplomacy, turning victories into compromises.
BJP National Spokesperson Dr. Trivedi said that today, under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, India has a government that is fully prepared to respond with strength and resolve, on both military and diplomatic fronts. He appealed to Congress to refrain from actions that undermine the morale of the Indian Army and the nation, especially at such a sensitive time, and urged them to behave like a responsible opposition.
