Salient points of speech of Hon'ble BJP National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda while addressing a massive rally in Udupi, Karnataka

Under the leadership and guidance of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, our senior leaders Shri B S Yeddyurappa ji and Shri Basavraj Bommai ji are taking Karnataka ahead in all spheres of development and growth. In the double engine government of the Bharatiya Janata Party Karnataka has excelled in development and progress and this growth will continue unhindered.

The main character of the Congress party is division, corruption, commission, non performance and to deprive people of their rights. The Siddaramaiah government withdrew around 175 cases on PFI and released over 1,600 of its people.

It is the same PFI whose people are involved in anti national activities, its people used to openly break laws and create law and order situation in Karnataka , PFI created division in the society. The Siddaramaiah government withdrew hundreds of such serious cases against such PFI.

Former Chief Minister Shri Siddaramaiah did so because he never wanted peace in Karnataka. The Congress party always does vote bank politics in Karnataka, it did the sin of creating division in our society. The Siddaramaiah government also conspired to disturb peace and tranquility in the state, it is a fact.

Siddaramaiah should answer why he removed the Lokayukta in Karnataka? He will never answer this as his entire government was neck deep in corruption and nepotism. Division in society, divide and rule, vote bank politics and corruption are the real identity of the Congress party government.

During the Congress party government in the state electricity supply used to be ensured to the Congress party leaders whereas villages in Karnataka used to remain in dark. The state and its people have always suffered without electricity supply during the Congress party government. Then the people of Karnataka snapped the power of the Congress party. I appeal to the people of Karnataka to permanently snap the power of the Congress party in the state.

In this year's Union Budget, the Narendra Modi Government gave Rs 37,257 crores for the development and progress of Karnataka, which is Rs 5,000 crores more than the previous year. The Upper Bhadra Project in Karnataka has been made a national project for which additional Rs 5,300 crores have been allocated.

We all are very fortunate that when the country is celebrating the Azadi Ka Amrit Kaal, we have got the opportunity to work and contribute under the leadership and guidance of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji. It is our responsibility and duty to ensure that in 2047, when our nation completes 100 years of Independence , India is established as a global leader in every sphere of development and progress.

The Narendra Modi Government has so far disbursed over Rs 25 lakh crores directly into the bank accounts of beneficiaries of various government programmes and schemes by eradicating middlemen and commission agents.

Today India accounts for over 40 percent of total digital transactions happening globally. The Narendra Modi Government has done electrification of 52,252 kms railway line. The toilet coverage across the country has gone up from 39 percent to 98 percent. Similarly the tap water connections in the country has jumped from 13 percent to 58 percent. All these are splendid achievements of the Bharatiya Janata Party government under the leadership and guidance of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji.

Our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji recently dedicated to the nation a helicopter manufacturing plant set up by HAL in Tumkur in Karnataka. It will give greater impetus to the growth and development of the state. A mega industrial corridor is also coming up in Karnataka.

I bow before Udupi and its great people because it was in 1968 that the Bharatiya Janata Party secured victory in Udupi municipal council, a first for the party in the South. I consider Udupi as the gateway of the South for the Bharatiya Janata Party.
