Salient points of speech of Hon’ble BJP National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda ji while addressing a joint rally of NDPP-BJP in Kohima, Nagaland
● The double engine government of NDPP-BJP coalition led by our respected CM Shri Neiphiu Rio and Deputy CM Shri Y. Patton under the dynamic leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is determined to make Nagaland a gateway of development. NDPP-BJP is going to form a government dedicated to development once again in Nagaland with full majority.
● First of all I pay my respect to the dynamic Chief Minister of Nagaland who understands the sensitivity of the people of Nagaland and has always taken care of people very well. It is indeed a great opportunity for me to be here to launch the joint campaign of NDPP and BJP.
● I feel great about the rich culture and language of Nagaland. Not only the basic ethos of people of Nagaland but also the history of Nagaland. It was the pious land of Nagaland only where Neta Ji first established the Azad Hind Government. This region played a great role during India's struggle for independence.
● In the previous government, Nagaland was known for band, strike, blockade, insurgencies and abduction and target killing. Now, we can say, Nagaland is the place of peace, prosperity and development. The people here want a stable and strong government in future too, and we'll work for the same, and for the development in Nagaland.
● When you make a wrong decision then the situation will be like Sri Lanka and. Many countries have fallen in the same way because of wrong and untimely decisions. India’s growth rate is moving forward swiftly. At present, India is progressing at the fastest pace in the World. India in 2014 was at 10th largest economy but today we are standing at 5th place in the World.
● If I talk about pharmaceuticals, India has produced the cheapest and effective vaccine of Covid-19. Now India is known as pharmacy-hub of the World. India is exporting vaccines to many countries. Our chemical production has increased by 106% and we are exporting chemicals to 175 countries. This is New India. In steel manufacturing, we ranked second next to China. In 2014, 92% of our mobile phones were being imported but today 97% of the mobile phones are getting manufactured here in India. India is standing at 3rd place in the world for automobiles. India is the 3rd largest energy consumption country in the world. India ranks 4th in Renewable energy.
● Friends as far as Tribal welfare is concerned, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has great respect for Tribals and their culture. We want to make sure that they should not be left behind and they should be brought to the mainstream. At present, our Hon’ble President is a woman's tribal daughter. There are 8 ministers from the tribal community in the Central Govt. We have made provision in this Union Budget to recruit about 38,800 teachers in Eklavya Model Schools. Rs.217 crores were spent on Eklavya schools between 2006 and 2017 but in the last 8 years, nearly Rs.1400 crores were spent on the development of these Eklavya schools. Every aspect has been enhanced to make sure no Tribal children are left behind. From 2006 to 2014, expenditure on Tribal welfare was 11,000 crore but now Rs.42,000 crores are being spent on the development of Tribal community to bring them to the mainstream. If we talk about scholarships, it was Rs.970 crores during Congress-led UPA govt but now it has been increased to 2500 crores.
● Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji is concerned about the solution of the Eastern Nagaland People's Organization (ENPO) issue and our Hon’ble Home Minister Shri Amit Shah ji has tirelessly worked with chief minister Shri Rio and Deputy CM Shri Y. Patton." He stated that the solution has come to the final stage and in the coming times, will be carried forward in the right direction. Issues have been discussed and whatever commitments have been given by the Home Minister will be followed in letter and spirit and shall be fulfilled.
● Friends, if I talk about Nagaland approx. Rs. 3,235 crores have been given for the development of the roads and highways. National highways of the length 1063 km at the cost of Rs.11,711 crores have been approved for Nagaland. 667 km National Highways network has been added in Nagaland in the past 6 years which comes to enhancement of 76%.
● If I talk about the railways, I can say that the 82 kms broad gauge route has been built kohima. Dimapur railway station was made in 1903, after that Shokhuvi railway station came after 100 years. Now railways network are being increased. Railways and highways are the means of economic development and prosperity. This has been achieved under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and able support of our CM of Nagaland.
● I am happy to share that we have decided to invest in Ayurvedic centres and colleges. Many new medical colleges are going to come.
● Friends, apart from these things, PM Ujjwala Yojana, PM Awas Yojana, Gramin Vikas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, PM Kisan Smman Nidhi, Saubhagya Yojana - all these schemes has dynamic enthusiasm to bring infrastructure and development to Nagaland.
● As the North East is the region of gateways of a country's development, we believe in HIRA. The Hon'ble PM has always talked about it. Here is H for Highways, I for Internet, R for railways and A for Airways. 12 airstrips airports are coming to Nagaland. You see after 5 years what Nagaland will become and what opportunity Nagaland will get for tourism," he said. If I talk about withdrawal of AFSA that makes us understand how peace and prosperity are coming to Nagaland, how Nagaland is brought to the mainstream.
● Our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji is very enthusiastic about the development of Nagaland. Dynamic CM, Shri Neiphiu Rio and Dy CM Shri Y. Patton is working tirelessly to bring Nagaland to the mainstream. Speaking on the reduction of AFSPA, Nadda said that this means Naga people are coming to the mainstream. He said that the people are now the opinion makers for the stable and strong Nagaland.
● It is Bharatiya Janata Party who understands national development with fulfilling regional aspirations. Congress does not understand the regional aspiration. Congress has been thrown away from Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal and from many other states. There is only one national party at present that is Bharatiya Janata Party; other than that all are regional parties at least in existence. Why, because BJP understands the regional aspiration and makes plans of development based on that. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, we understand national commitment and regional aspiration properly.
