Salient points of speech of Hon'ble Union Home Minister & Minister of Cooperation Sh Amit Shah while addressing a massive rally in Belagavi, Karnataka

The people of Karnataka are very keen to blossom 'Lotus' in the Belgaum district by ensuring victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party in 16 out of 18 assembly constituencies. The people of Karnataka have made up their minds to once again form the double engine government of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the state. The flagging off of the Vijay Sankalp Yatra is also the start of the election campaign of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Karnataka.

In Karnataka assembly elections, on one hand, we have the dynasty parties in the form of the Congress party and the Janata Dal (Secular), while on the other hand, we have the team of nationalists and patriots in the form of the Bharatiya Janata Party workers who are being led by our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji who is on the mission to make India the number one country in the World.

In the ensuing assembly elections in Karnataka, on one hand, we have the Congress party which committed the sin of putting the burden of the dynastic Janata Dal (Secular) government which just won 25-30 seats to form its government in the state thus making Karnataka the ATM of the High command and putting the state into deep corruption and anarchy. On the other hand we have the Bharatiya Janata Party government which believes and works on its principles of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabha Prayas'.

I want to warn the people of Karnataka that every vote given to JDS is going to benefit the Congress party. Therefore, I appeal to people of Karnataka to vote with full caution. All these do not want progress, development and prosperity of Karnataka and its people.

The Congress party and the JDS make tall promises and give fake assurances, but they have all been exposed before the people of Karnataka and they are not to fall in the trap of these parties again because they know that the Congress and JDS are just hungry for power and have nothing to do with progress and development of Karnataka.

During her speech in Goa in 2007 Sonia Gandhi had announced that her party's government will not allow the diversion of the water of Mahadayi River towards Karnataka. In its manifesto in 2022 the Congress party had said that the party's government would not allow a single drop of water from Mahadayi River to be given to Karnataka. This is the sensitivity of the Congress party towards the people of Karnataka.

I thank the Bharatiya Janata Party government of Karnataka and the Chief Minister of Goa that they succeeded in letting the water of Mahadayi River reach the farmers of Karnataka. It is the Bharatiya Janata Party and its Governments which amicably resolved the old dispute between the two states. It is a great work that will greatly benefit the farmers and people of Karnataka.

India is hosting the prestigious global forum G-20. India is Chairing this important event which is also a rare honour. This shows that whatever our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji says, it gets importance on the global platform. It is also the honour for the people of Kittore, Belgaum and Karnataka along with the honour and respect for the entire country and every citizen.

The double engine government of the Bharatiya Janata Party has started the 73 km railway line between Kittore and Dharwad with an expenditure of over Rs 927 crores. Similarly in Kittore a mega industrial township is coming up in 1000 acres of land which will give employment to over 50,000 people.

In the memory of our famous freedom fighter Sangoli Rayanaa district Sainik School is coming up and its work is almost complete. In the 2023-24 year jawans for our armed forces will start to come out. I want to ask the Congress party what its Government did for the development of North Karnataka during its rule.

In 2014 the Bharatiya Janata Party government was formed under the dynamic leadership of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and since then twice elections of President have taken place. First time a leader from a poor Dalit background was elected President, while on the second occasion Smt Droupadi Murmu ji who comes from a very poor and Tribal background was made President. Thus our Hon’ble Prime Minister honoured the entire Tribal society of our country which has contributed immensely for the development of our country.
