Salient points of Press Conference of BJP National Secretary, Shri Shrikant Sharma
BJP National Secretary, Shri Shrikant SHarma, held a press conference in the BJP central office today and hit back hard at Rahul Gandhi for baseless, preposterous and ridiculous accusations on the BJP Government at the Centre.
Shri Sharma said that our fight is against the business of terrorism, narcotics, fake currency and black-money. He said, our fight is against corruption and misrule but Rahul Gandhi and Congress are in favor of it while the country wants to get rid of these issues.
Hitting back at Rahul Gandhi, BJP National Secretary said, Rahul Gandhi is depressed by continuous defeats and failures. He said, we would like to remind him that during the UPA govt led by Congress, there were scams like 2G, Coal block allocation, Commonwealth games and VVIP chopper scams running into Rs 1.76 lakh crore, Rs 1.86 lakh crore, Rs 72,000 crore and Rs 3,200 crore respectively. He said that Rahul Gandhi should first name the beneficiaries of these scams that happened during the UPA government. He said, Rahul Gandhi chanting beads of Adani-Ambani day and night and levelled false charges on BJP govt. He said, during the Sonia-Manmohan govt, Corporate Karjamafi worth over Rs. 36 lakh crore were given to the corporate houses, Rahul Gandhi should first tell that what was his interest in it. He advised Rahul Gandhi to stop misleading the nation. He said, in reality, Vijay Mallya is the ultimate friend of Congress. Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi, he asked, when the SBI had freezed the account of Mallya in 2012 then why Congress gave a bail-out package to Mally worth of Rs.1500 crore?
Hitting back at Rahul Gandhi over revealing the names of Swiss bank account holders, he said, when you are not in the power, you are remembering it but when you were in the power, you were silent, the people of India wants to know the truth from you. He said, when all the MPs had filed affidavit to the Chairman and Speaker of the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha respectively stating that they have neither any foreign bank account nor any money in it, if found, it should be declared as public property then why Rahul Gandhi had not filed the affidavit, what was the reason? He said, when you got the list of Indian account holders in the foreign banks around 2011 and Supreme Court of India ordered your UPA govt to set up an SIT to process the investigation then why the Congress took no action and did not constitute an SIT? He said, you know that if we release the name without a proper investigation, then the countries will stop the cooperation with us due to the DTAA treaty with them. He said, we have no difficulty in making names public, but they can be made public only in accordance with due process of law. He said, Rahul Gandhi is trying to save corrupt people here, too, Rahul Gandhi must stop misleading people of the country. He said, we understand the frustration of Rahul Gandhi because Rahul Gandhi and Congress have been helping those who tried to destroy the nation with their black money. He said, Congress has been caught in his own trap, now the probe into the VVIP chopper scam has “reached its doorsteps. Hitting back at Rahul Gandhi, he said, there is a direct responsibility of Rahul Gandhi in it, Rahul Gandhi, first answer who looted the country in your regime and who benefited from the ‘mota maal (hefty amount)?”
Shri Sharma said, deaths are always unfortunate and we have sympathies with the families but on an average 695 farmers ended their lives daily (approx 2.5 lakh per annum) during the UPA government while the Modi government has taken a number of measures to protect them. He said, unlike Congress, we don’t do politics over deats. He said, Congress bakes political bread, even on burning cremation, for the lust of power. In a major attack on Congress Party, he said, Congress accepted division of the country for the lust of power. He warned Rahul Gandhi to stop doing hideous politics over deats.
BJP National Secretary said, under the leadership of Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, our government at the Centre has worked to give farmers a safety net to prevent continuation of the tragic deaths of farmers. He said, our government increased the MSP of crops twice in two and half years of ruling, we have provided Soil Health card, we managed to boost irrigation system and introduced e-mandi for farmers. He said, Rahul Gandhi must answer, why Congress-ruled states like Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Karnataka have not implemented crop insurance scheme yet?
Shri Sharma said, Rahul Gandhi and Congress never concerned with democracy. He said, 10 Janpath could decide who the next president and vice-president of the Congress party but who will be the Prime Minister of this country, it is only decided by the people of the country, Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party must learn to respect democracy. He said, by levelling baseless charges, one can't do politics, truth soon appears before the people. Giving examples of Faridabad Dalit case and attacks on churches, he said, Congress accused the BJP citing false charges without any proper information, but as the truth came out, all the Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi have no choice left except to hide their face. He said, Rahul Gandhi must stop lying and selling a lie. He said, that is the reason why Rahul Gandhi has lost the confidence of many senior Congress leaders, the people of the country have already become disillusioned with Rahul Gandhi. He said, Shri Narendra Modi will remain as Prime Minister of India over a longer period of time, Rahul Gandhi & Co should get used to it.
