Salient points of the Press Conference of Senior BJP leader Shri Jual Oram, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan and National General Secretary & Odisha State In-charge Shri Arun Singh
BJP Senior leader, Shri Jual Oram, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan and BJP National General Secretary and in-charge of Odisha Shri Arun Singh today held a press conference in the central office of BJP and thanked the people of Orissa for historical win in the local body elections in Orissa. In connection of the result of recent election held in Orissa, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan made a presentation showing the geographical condition and the grand win of BJP, he also laid emphasis on important facts.
While addressing the Press Conference Shri Dharmendra Pradhan said, the rural areas constitutes 80% of Orissa, in these circumstances the state local body elections and unprecedented popular support being given to BJP across state the credit of it goes to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi the centre government headed by Prime Minister which works on the public- welfare schemes and its policies. He said that the way people have been completely supporting the decisions on the welfare of people, have laid their faith similarly the people of Orissa has reinforced its public support.
Shri Pradhan said that, all section of society especially poor, tribal, downtrodden, in the form of Prime Minister has seen a ray of hope. And because of this the result in Orissa the BJP which use to register its presence in few regions today, except one out of the 30 districts of Orissa BJP has made a strong presence in every district and have distinguished itself. He said that, last time in Orissa out of the 30 district council not even one was from BJP whereas this time as per the latest information out of 30 BJP has registered win with complete majority in 8 district whereas the BJD which is in power last time has 28 out of 30 seats is now down to 16. He said that the congress is completely uprooted in, they could just manage to win 1 seat in district council. He said that in the history of Orissa congress could have not has such a catastrophe defeat.
Shri Pradhan said that, Rahul Gandhi moves across the country and canvasses against Prime Minister saying that Shri Narendra Modi is anti poor, he do not bother about poor, but the fact is otherwise. He said that, in 2008 Rahul Gandhi came to Kalahandi and he promised to the people there that he would be their representative in New Delhi, in 2009 the congress candidate won also, 10 years there was congress government at centre but congress was completely uprooted in Kalahandi, He said that there are a total of 36 seats in Kalahandi, BJP has won in 34 seats in Kalahandi , similar in 2015 Rahul Gandhi visited Bargarh district and spoke of the problems of farmers, but the district did not get any seats in Congress while the BJP won 26 seats out of 34.
Shri Pradhan said that, in 2012 the Orissa District Council there were a total of 854 seats, but BJP had won only 36 seats, this time we have 307 seats, compared to the last time was about 9 times more seats compared to the last time while BJD went down from 651 to 459 seats and congress reduced to 67 from 126. He said that, Malkangiri, Kalahandi, Mayurbhanj, Bargarh districts all such backward and tribal district have registered BJP win in an unprecedented manner. He said that, Malkangiri where the BJP won 10 seats out of 13, whereas won 34 out of 36 in Kalahandi, Balangir out of 36, BJP won at 24 seats, Mayurbhanj where more than 50% of population are tribal BJP won at 49 out of the 56 seats. He said that, at this historical win Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has also placed his gratitude to the people of Orissa and thanked the people to accompany him on the journey to development.
Shri Pradhan said that, after the demonetization wherever the elections were held in different parts of the country, the BJP has registered spectacular success. He said that, the politics of the country has changed after demonetization however few people tried to create an environment of fear and terror but the common people especially the poor people of this country supported Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party and stood behind like the rock, for this I place my heartfelt gratitude to the common mass.
He said that, the BJP win in the district council proved the point that after the 8th Nov 2016, the faith and trust of the people of this country towards Prime Minister and BJP government at centre has increased many fold. He said that people of Orissa in its fight against the black money have supported the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi with heart and soul, not only this in the Naxal infested district after demonetization have surrendered and the violence was reduced. He hoped that, the way Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Odisha by their unprecedented public support has welcomed the Prime Minister's decisions on public interest and in four phases of Uttar Pradesh assembly elections the BJP got the overwhelming support of the masses, the remaining three phases will receive similar love and blessing of the people, the BJP will form a absolute majority government in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
