New Delhi, May 15: Honorable Union Minister of Home and Cooperation Shri Amit Shah today spoke to ANI on a range of issues.

Shri Shah said that the opposition is trying to misinterpret the BJP’s goal to cross the 400-seat mark.  A stable government helps the development of a nation in taking decisive steps, helping the poor, and ensuring internal security.

On the allegation that the BJP wants to end reservation by attaining an absolute majority, he said, “We have a majority for the last 10 years. But we did not remove reservations. As far as the question of Muslim reservation is concerned, it is unconstitutional.  We will not let reservations based on religion”

On the PoK issue, he said, that there is a resolution of the Parliament that the PoK belongs to India. But Farukh Abdullah and Mani Shankar Shakar Aiyar are saying that the BJP needs to honour Pakistan. What does that mean? Should a great nation such as India with a 130 crore population leave its right on PoK just because of fear of Pakistan? It can never happen. BJP believes that PoK belongs to India.

On the Gyan Vapi Mosque and Krishna Janambhoomi issue, he said that these cases are being heard in the court and this does not behove him to comment on them during that stage.

He also said that the Ram temple was not a political issue for the BJP but a matter of faith.

“We have not raised any political slogan on Ram Temple. Those slogans are raised by the people and people have that right,” he said.

“Ram Temple was politicized only after the Indi Alliance boycotted the consecration ceremony. They did not visit because of fear of losing the minority vote bank. They have no problem having parties on Eid with Muslims. But they have problems with going to consecration despite being Hindus. What kind of politics is this?” he said.

He also said that in the last ten years, Modi Ji has done a lot of work for the poor, for the security and prosperity of the nation and this is the NDA’s agenda.

“No one gave 33% reservations to women. But Modi ji did. It was the first bill Modi Ji brought after the inauguration of the new Parliament,” he said.

“This is exactly how Mamata Banerjee works. First, she will inflict atrocities on people and if someone reveals it then she inflicts more atrocities to suppress them,” he said when asked about the Bengal Chief Minister’s allegations that the Sandeshkhali incident was fabricated by the BJP.

He also said that no one could ever think that for years during a woman chief minister’s rule, hundreds of women could be subjected to such gory atrocities because of their religion. The state government was not ready to arrest the culprits. Even after the court order investigation did not take off. Finally, the case had to be given to the CBI. What kind of rule is this?

In the Prajwal Revanna case, he said that the responsibility of arresting Revanna was on the congress government. But the Deputy Chief Minister allowed him to flee by remaining silent on the issue till the voting in the Vokkaliga belt was completed and raised the issue only after that. But he said that the harshest measures should be taken.

“The TMC government is responsible for the poll violence in West Bengal. After the last assembly election, 53 people were killed and the TMC government shrugged off its responsibility saying that they had not taken oath by then. I think the election commission should take responsibility for law and order till the oath-taking ceremony,” he said on the post-poll violence in Bengal

“Today 300 people are getting citizenship in Delhi. The Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians who have come from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan will get citizenship no matter whether they have documents or not,” he said on the CAA.

He also said that there is a lot of discontentment in the TMC due to the high-handedness of Mamata Banerjee’s nephew and if the BJP wins 30 seats it will only spur the fall of the party adding that the BJP will get 24 to 30 seats.

About Odisha, he said that the state has had a stable government for a long time but did not develop like the other states. Moreover, people feel that someone else is running the government behind Naveen Ji. It is a matter of Oidisha’s pride. The pride of Odiya language, culture and literature is a big issue there. Moreover, the way the government tried to hinder the festivities around the Ram temple, by using government force people were unhappy about it.

“We will repeat our 2019 performance in Bihar,” he said.

On Arvind Kejriwal asking for votes to stay out of jail Shri Shah said that this is a contempt of court. He means that the court issues directions based on election results. He also said that letting Kejriwal out on bail for the election campaign does not seem like a regular order. It looks like a special treatment. He also said that Kejriwal who alleges of being monitored through CCTV does not know that Tihar Jail is under the Delhi government

On the allegation that the BJP split the NCP and the Shiv Sena into two he said, had Sharad Pawar made Ajit Pawar his heir in the party then it would not have been divided. Similarly, if Uddhav Thackeray gave due importance to Eknath Shinde then also Shiv Sena would not have been divided. They wanted to run a party like a monarchy and many people have problems with it.

On Sharad Pawar’s appeal that all the regional parties should merge with the Congress Shri Shah said that this shows that he has accepted that Supriya Sule is not being able to run the party.

 On why he calls Rahul Gandhi's promise a Chinese Guarantee he said Rahul promised Telangana women Rs.12,000 and girls of scooters and farmers of loan waivers but fulfilled none. His promises are meaningless.  

He said that the  BJP will emerge as the single largest party in the south. In all five states, the BJP will emerge as the largest party and the BJP will increase its seats in Uttar Pradesh.

He asked why Sonia Gandhi spent 70% of her MPLAD fund on minorities and said that BJP’s Dinesh Pratap Singh would defeat Rahul Gandhi in Raebareli.

“Had Rahul Gandhi told the people of Wayanad that he would also contest from Raebareli then it would have been a different issue. He hid it from them and went to Raebareli only after the post-poll reports from Wayanad were not favorable,” he said.,

About Rahul Gandhi’s statement that the SCs, STs and OBCs cannot crack the competitive exams because of tough question papers he said that there is no issue with question papers because there are reservations for them.

On Naxalism, he said that Jharkhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have been freed from it. Many places in Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand have been reached with government schemes for the first time. In Chhattisgarh, after the BJP government was formed 112 Naxalites were eliminated, 375 surrendered and 153 were arrested. But Congress is calling them fake encounters.

On surgical strikes and airstrikes, he said that the opposition raised questions about them only because they do not want Modi Ji to have the credit for them and Congress never raised a voice against terror attacks out of fear of losing the vote bank.

He added that after the abrogation of Article 370, theatres have opened there, tazia processions are carried out, 2.11 crore tourists went there and thousands of crores of investments have gone to Kashmir. People have received the benefits of the welfare schemes of the Modi government. As many as 33,000 public representatives in the local bodies have been elected, and development works worth Rs.58000 crore completed.

“There have been harsh steps also. People with a history of stone pelting are not given jobs. People whose families have terrorists are sacked from their jobs. Farukh Abdullah should know that during his regime 8 to 13 % of people voted now 35% have voted and also this time 35% of displaced Kashmiris have also voted,” he said

On why BJP is not contesting in Kashmir he said that there were rumours that the BJP is developing Kashmir for its political benefit. “We admit that our organization there is not strong there and once our organisation is strong we will certainly ask for a mandate,” he said.

“We went alone in Punjab because we could not arrive at a consensus on seats,” he said

He said that Modi Ji visiting Gurdwara should not associated with votes. Because the sacrifices the Sikh Gurus made for the nation, and its religion were hardly comparable with anyone. It is every Indian's responsibility to respect them. They fought against torture, fanaticism and conversion.

“UCC is on our agenda. We will introduce UCC. One Nation One Election is also our agenda. Personal laws will not be allowed during our government,” he said.

He mentioned that the foreign media should not worry much about India because our people are mature enough and can decide for themselves. Our constitution is so balanced that autocracy can never come here, says Shah. Adding that the BJP has fulfilled 92% of the promises made to the people and the Congress will go on vacation after the 4^th of June.
