Dr. Udit Raj, Special Invitee to the National Executive of Bharatiya Janata Party, said that in a very small span of time, he had realized that BJP is not against Dalits and tribes. There is huge scope for these people here to work for the society. There is a perception that BJP is anti-dalit but it is a myth and not the reality. He appealed that all the underprivileged should join the party and elect Shri Naredra Modi as Prime Minister. The President of National Dalit Front – Shri Ramvilas Paswan, Working President – Shri Ramdas Athawale and Secretary General – Dr. Udit Raj are now with the BJP and it is sending a good message that a maximum number of SC, ST and other Backwards will vote in favour of BJP and the party will achieve its target of 272+. Not only the BJP but others have also acknowledged the political accomplishment of Shri Rajnath Singh who brought so many dalit leaders in the party under the leadership of Shri Narendra Modi.
Dr. Udit Raj said that the Bahujan Samaj Party had emerged when the country’s economic situation was the matter of grave concern. At that time whatever experiments were done to tackle the situation were not sufficient to improve the status of SC, ST and other backwards. The new economic policy changed the economic world and as a result many new sectors like capital market, telecom, service sectors, market, construction, share market etc emerged which completely excluded SC, ST and OBCs. BSP was not able to stand against these policies and could not secure its participation in these sectors. Due to which the number of government jobs have been decreased. Atal Bihari Vajpayee government has done 81st, 82nd and 85th Constitutional amendments. The 85th amendment regarding reservation in promotion was challenged in the Supreme Court which Dr. Udit Raj had defended but it was reversed by Lucknow Bench of High Court in the absence of proper advocacy. Ms. Mayawati was Chief Minister at that time. From the point of view of interest of SC/ST how relevant is the existence of the party? That is the big question.
BJP has done important works for the upliftment and self-respect of SC, ST and OBC. It was Shri Atal ji’s government who declared the birthplace and enlightenment place of Ambedkar at Mahu, as a national monument. BJP has set-up the separate schedule tribe development ministry.
