Coming out in support of Bharatiya Janata Party’s policy on national security, seven veterans of Indian Army and Air Force today joined the party in the gracious presence of Raksha Mantri Smt Nirmala Sitharaman.

 

While welcoming the ex-defence officers in the party she expressed happiness and said that they are all senior and brave officers. They have done splendid job during their services and given their best to the country.

 

Smt Sitharaman said: "I am pleased that they are joining the party. They will help the party in formalisation of policies regarding security of the nation."

 

These highly decorated retired Army officers said, “We are retired, but we are certainly not tired. We have strength to serve the country again.They highly appreciated Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for his dynamic leadership and patriotism. The pace with which development work is going in India under Modi government is really very impressive, the pointed out. The officers said they are impressed with the vision of BJP National President Shri Amit Shah. 

 

The veterans who joined the party and pledged their allegiance to the BJP and offered their services to the party are --

                             

  1.  Lt General JBS Yadav Vr C, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, (Retd.). He served as Dy. Chief of Army Staff, Army Headquarters.
  2. Lt General R N Singh, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM. He served as Director General, Military Intelligence.
  3. Lt. General SK Patyal, PVSM, UYSM, SM (Gallantry). He served as Dy Chief of Army Staff, army HQ.
  4. Lt. General Sunit Kumar, AVSM. He was Director General (Information Services & IT). 
  5.  Lt General Nitin Kohli, PVSM, AVSMA, VSM. He was Signal Officer-in Chief, Army HQ, Ex DG Manpower planning & Personnel Services.
  6. Colonel RK Tripathi. He served as Dy Judge Advocate General Corps HQ.
  7.  Wing Commander (Dr) Navneet Magon (Retd). He was with the Indian air force Medical Services.
