Press Release : BJP National President Shri JP Nadda met and interacted with Maldivian President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu in New Delhi under the 'Know BJP' initiative.

Bharatiya Janata Party National President and Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilisers Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda met President of Maldives H.E. Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on 7^th October 2024 at New Delhi as part of the ‘KNOW BJP’ initiative.

During the meeting, both leaders acknowledged the substantial progress in India-Maldives bilateral relations over the last decade. They welcomed the introduction of Rupay Card transactions in Maldives and the release of the Comprehensive Economic and Maritime Security Vision Document. Both the leaders also discussed various ways to enhance cooperation in the health sector. Shri Nadda outlined the organizational structure and activities of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Both leaders agreed to enhance party-to-party relations by promoting exchanges between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the People’s National Congress, aiming to deepen partnership and mutual understanding.

Shri Nadda was accompanied by BJP Foreign Affairs department In-charge Dr Vijay Chauthaiwale during the meeting.

H.E. Dr. Mohamed Muizzu is on a state visit to India. This is the first bilateral visit of President Dr. Muizzu to India.
