Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) welcomes the decision of Delhi University to adopt a common entrance test for undergraduate admissions from 2022. It will help resolve anomalies caused due to admissions based solely on marks because exam boards across the country have different evaluation systems. It will create equal opportunity for students from every state and remove unpredictability and chaos caused by the cut-off-based admission process. Repeated cut-off lists to fill the seats unnecessarily dragged the admission process and disrupted the teaching-learning process. It will also remove the incentive for grade inflation in schools which is making the evaluation process non-transparent and hollow. BJYM hopes that common entrance test will be accessible and affordable for students from all backgrounds. Education reforms remain the top priority of the BJYM to enable our youth to meet the challenges of the 21st CE.
