BJYM protests against Kejriwal Govt for mocking Kashmiri Pandits

New Delhi, March 23, 2022: Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) National President Sri Tejasvi Surya on Wednesday led a strong protest against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi for his insensitive comments and the lack of empathy of his government towards Kashmiri Pandits and demanded unconditional apology from Kejriwal.

The protest march, attended by thousands of karyakartas, began from Indraprastha College for Women at 11 am and proceeded up to the residence of the CM of Delhi. The Police, however, used water cannons against the BJYM functionaries and prevented them from reaching the residence of the CM.

Kejriwal recently mocked the 1990 genocide of Kashmiri Pandits on the floor of the Delhi Legislative Assembly in the backdrop of providing a tax break for the Kashmir Files documentary. Kejriwal showed no empathy towards the Kashmiri Pandits, many of who were slaughtered, assaulted, raped & displaced in the 1990 genocide. While speaking on the subject, he even termed the Kashmir Files as a fake movie. It is evident by the statements of Arvind Kejriwal that the plight of Kashmiri Pandits is a matter of ridicule for him & the Aam Aadmi Party.

Surya, who led the protestors, said that Kejriwal has shown that he is against Hindus with his remarks on Kashmiri Pandits and it is part of his political programme. “Kejriwal earlier questioned the surgical strikes and insulted our Armed Forces. He then opposed Ram Mandir and regularly mocks Hindu symbols and deities. The blood of Kashmiri Pandits is now a laughing matter for him. Kejriwal and his party have time and again insulted the sentiments of Hindus. He will pay a price for this depravity,” Surya said.

BJYM National Office Bearers like National General Secretaries Raju Bista, Rohit Chahal and Vaibhav Singh, National Vice President Abhinav Prakash, National Secretary Tajinder Bagga, Delhi BJYM President Vasu Rukhar, National Executive Members Vishu Basoya and Abhimanyu Tyagi were among the ones who attended the protest.

Speaking to fellow protesters, Surya said that the politics of Arvind Kejriwal is based on the notion of populism which has transcended the economic sphere and targeted to appease the radical, fundamentalist & divise elements. “The BJYM has raised its voice against Kejriwal, who regularly ridicule or denies the crimes against humanity. The people have seen through this and will vote out Kejriwal for sure. He demanded an unconditional apology from CM Kejriwal for hunting the sentiments of Kashmiri Pandits” Surya added.
