BJYM National President Tejasvi Surya stopped from marching to Karauli to meet riot victims

New Delhi, April 13, 2022: Bharatiya Janata YuvaMorcha’s National President Shri Tejasvi Surya was stopped at the border of the town of Karauli in Rajasthan on Wednesday and detained by the policy when he was on the way to meet the victims of the Karauli riots.

During the Hindu New Year procession recently in Karauli, miscreants resorted to stone pelting and committed acts of violence on a peaceful assembly, marring the celebration of Navratras. Demanding that the Rajasthan Government take strict action against the culprits, the BJYM organised the NyayYatra on Wednesday and proceeded towards Karauli, located about 170 km from State Capital Jaipur. The Congress State Government, however, detained the participants of the peaceful march near the entry point to Karauli. Without any reason, the police also lathi-charged many of the participant karyakartas of the BJYM.

Earlier, the BJYM National President also visited the SMS Hospital in Jaipur and met the victims who suffered injuries from the Karauli violence, along with BJYM National Vice President Neha Joshi, BJYM Rajasthan President Himanshu Sharma and BJYM Rajasthan Vice President MukeshDadhich.

“We have heard of Lalu Prasad Yadav’s Jungle Raj in Bihar but today we are witnessing Ashok Gehlot’s Jungle Raj here in Rajasthan,” Surya said. “Many youth who are just about 20 to 25 years of age and have their whole lives ahead of them, are seriously injured and fighting for lives today. The Bharatiya Janata YuvaMorcha strongly condemns this violence and in the coming times, will oppose Ashok Gehlot’s Jungle Raj more vehemently and fiercely.”

Urging the media to show the truth and pain of the victims of violence to the whole nation Mr. Surya said, “Wherever there is communal violence against Hindu brothers and sisters, every worker of the BJYM will stand as a shield of defence.”

Commenting on the state of affairs in Rajasthan, Surya said: “The lathis of the Rajasthan government on karyakartas demanding justice for the victims of Karauli violence is proof of the appeasement policy of the Ashok Gehlot government and its support to the perpetrators who are responsible for the Karauli violence. Detention will not deter the BJYM. The BJYM will continue to fight for justice for the victims of Karauli violence.”
