New Delhi, April24, 2022: The Bharatiya Janata YuvaMorcha (BJYM) resolved to magnificently celebrate 24th April 2022 as “Panchayati Raj Diwas” in a meeting held in the BJP National Office, under the leadership of Sh. Tejasvi Surya Ji, National President, BJYM.

On the 24th of April, BJYM organized programs and conclaves for young pradhans, BDC members & elected representatives at the district level and councillors (Parshads) in all the districts throughout India. These programs were attended by senior leaders of the BJP and put forward the importance of Panchayati Raj and Municipalities in decentralizedGovernance & Activism.

The diligent work done at the grass-root level is of utmost importance in the upliftment of society. These programs weretargeted to encourage and honour the foundational democratic pillars of our society.Grass root democratic practices significantly represents the demands &values of all section of society. In recent times there has been increased participation of youth in Panchayati Raj and municipal corporations which is an advancement towards a better India.

Shri Tejasvi Surya, National President remarked that Panchayati Raj & Municipal institutions is the soul of participatory democracy.All stake holders including political parties should initiate measures to strengthen the grass root democracy & to encourage participations across social strata. Participation is the key in the context of Panchayti Raj, thus BJYM, in continuance of its efforts would ensure that more & more youths realize their aspirations through grass root democratic institutions.Shri Tejasvi Surya expressed gratitude towards Hon'ble P.M Shri Narendra Modi for stressing on grass root development initiatives and strengthening local institutions. He also stressed that allocation of Rs. 20,000 crores for development initiatives in Jammu & Kashmir is watershed moment for new dawn of democracy
