Former Ambassador of India to the United States Shri Taranjit Singh Sandhu joined the Bharatiya Janata Party

Former Ambassador of India to the United States Shri Taranjit Singh Sandhu has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi, on Tuesday. During the event, BJP National General Secretaries Shri Vinod Tawde and Shri Tarun Chugh, BJP National Secretary Shri Manjinder Singh Sirsa and BJP Media Co-Head Dr. Sanjay Mayukh were present.

BJP National General Secretary Shri Vinod Tawde extended his warm welcome to Shri Taranjit Singh Sandhu into the BJP. Shri Tawde conveyed that Shri Sandhu has excelled in the Indian Foreign Services, particularly during his tenure in the US and as High Commissioner to Sri Lanka. Shri Tawde added that Shri Sandhu belongs to a family deeply committed to development in Punjab. Shri Vinod Tawde emphasized that Shri Taranjit Singh Sandhu's inclusion in the BJP aims to advance Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's development agenda in Punjab. Shri Sandhu's joining is seen as an effort to bolster the 'Modi guarantee' and further strengthen it.

Shri Taranjit Singh Sandhu expressed that he has closely worked with Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's leadership over the past 10 years, especially in relation to the United States and Sri Lanka. Shri Sandhu emphasized that the relationship with the US, particularly in the last four years, has evolved from one of mere relationship to a partnership, with American investments increasing in at least five areas in India. Shri Taranajit Singh Sandhu mentioned that the largest semiconductor company is investing in Gujarat, while in the energy sector, the world's largest company, 'First Solar', is investing in Chennai. Similarly, under the New Education Policy spearheaded by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, which focuses beyond degrees on skills, advancements such as two plus two and three plus one collaborations with international tie-ups are happening in IITs. Shri Taranjit Singh Sandhu noted that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's focus on development is evident, even in the US-India relationship. Shri Sandhu expressed hope that Amritsar will receive the necessary development, and he advocated for Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's policies to extend development to the city, mirroring the progress seen across the nation. Shri Taranjit Singh Sandhu extended gratitude towards Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, BJP National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, and Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah for encouraging him to embark on a new path of serving the nation.
