Press Release by BJP National President Shri J.P. Nadda

Bharatiya Janata Party National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda today thanked Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji for kick-starting the massive monetary relief distribution programme worth Rs.18,000 crores to 9 crore farmers across India under the Prime Minister Kisan Nidhi Yojna.

Shri Nadda congratulated the 9 crore farmers for getting the second instalment under the scheme directly in their bank accounts. He requested protesting farmers not to fall in the vicious trap of the opposition’s false propaganda and petty politics. He said the Narendra Modi government was highly committed towards the growth and development of the agriculture and farm sector, and for the welfare, prosperity and wellbeing of our farmers.

In a series of tweets today, the Bharatiya Janata Party National President said under the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna a total of Rs. 18,089 crores is being transferred to 9.4 crore farmers directly into their bank accounts. It is a major step towards good governance.

Shri Nadda said a total of 8 crore farmers from across India who had registered to connect with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji for his today’s address directly listened to his speech, which is unprecedented and historical. Shri Nadda said on the occasion of “Good Governance Day”, which is celebrated every year to mark the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Honourable Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has given Rs.18,000 crore directly into the bank accounts of over 9 crore farmers, for this I thank him from the bottom of my heart.

Shri Nadda also said the Bharatiya Janata Party government at the Centre under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji is constantly working towards the modernisation of our agriculture sector and for making agriculture more profitable for the farmers of India, which is an agriculture-centric nation. Our government is also working persistently to ensure that farmers have to spend less in farming and their input costs are reduced, that they get better income of their produce and that their incomes increase consistently.

In his tweets which were addressed to the farmers, Bharatiya Janata Party National President said Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji in his today’s address once again warned against the conspiracies surroundings the farm sector reforms laws. Shri Modi ji also clarified all the misconceptions of farmers regarding the laws and told them about the good intentions and works his government has been doing for our farmers. He warned the protesting farmers not to fall in the trap of any malicious propaganda of the opposition parties.

Shri Nadda stressed that the Narendra Modi government is highly committed for the welfare and wellbeing of the entire farming community and is taking all possible steps needed to safeguard the interests and rights of our farmers. He appealed to all the farmers of India to strongly support and trust Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, who is a true friend of our farmers, in order to make India a strong, prosperous and ‘Atmanirbhar’ (self-reliant) nation.

While expressing his dismay and pain over the omission of farmers of West Bengal from the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna, Shri Nadda said it is a matter of great pain and disappointment that on one hand all the farmers from across India were getting benefitted from the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna, on the other hand our poor and needy 70 lakh farmers from West Bengal are deliberately being deprived from the benefits of the remarkable scheme. I want to ask Mamata Banerjee ji that why did she not implement this highly beneficial scheme for our farmers in West Bengal?

In the end, the Bharatiya Janata Party National President once again appealed to the protesting farmers not to fall in the trap of falsehood and malicious propaganda of those who ruled India for decades but did nothing for the betterment and welfare of our farmers and their families. Shri Nadda said farmers should remain vigilant against such divisive and destructive forces who are playing dirty politics just for their petty political gains.
