Senior BJP leader and MP Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad strongly attacked West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's anti-constitutional statement

CM Mamata Banerjee opposes granting shelter to persecuted minority Hindus from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh due to religious reasons, yet she supports settling infiltrators from Bangladesh in West Bengal
*****************

By openly declaring her intention to settle people from Bangladesh in West Bengal, does Mamata Banerjee aim to destabilize India's unity?
*****************

INDI Alliance is undermining the unity of India for vote bank politics. The leaders of INDI Alliance discuss the separation of South India and occasionally hold meetings with Chinese leaders
*****************

At the time of India's independence, only three districts in Bengal had a Muslim majority, but now nine districts in Bengal have a Muslim majority. The demographics of Kolkata are also undergoing significant change
*****************

Mamata Banerjee, Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi advocate governing the country in accordance with the Constitution. However, the authority to grant asylum and citizenship to individuals entering the country from other nations rests with the Central Government, not the state government
*****************

According to the NIA investigation, key conspirators involved in numerous terrorist incidents receive protection in West Bengal under CM Mamata Banerjee's administration
*****************

Whoever talks about Rashtravad in West Bengal faces a threat to their life. Mamata Banerjee's statement in this context is highly irresponsible

*****************

Do leaders advocating governance through the Constitution support Mamata Banerjee's statement? Are they endorsing the idea of breaking India into pieces?

*****************

Bharatiya Janata Party Senior Leader and MP Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, addressed the media from his residence located at 21, Mother Teresa Crescent, New Delhi, on Monday. During the briefing, Shri Prasad criticized Mamata Banerjee's statement regarding granting shelter to people from Bangladesh in Bengal and strongly criticized the situation in Bengal.

Shri Prasad criticized Mamata Banerjee for her statement that she will keep Bengal's doors open for anyone from Bangladesh, including those seeking refuge. Mamta Banerjee, who had previously opposed the Citizenship Amendment Act and said she would not allow persecuted Hindus, Parsis, Sikhs, or Christians into Bengal, is now making contradictory statements. While Mamta Banerjee opposed the CAA, which had no impact on Indian citizens regardless of religion, she is now willing to accommodate all who come from Bangladesh.

BJP asked questions to Rahul Gandhi and other leaders of Indi Alliance-

·      Those entrusted with governing the nation through the Constitution, are they in favor of endorsing the statement of CM mamta Banerji?

·      Do they also want to break India into pieces?

·      BJP has faith in the tradition of West Bengal and strongly opposes such statements.

BJP MP Shri Prasad criticized Mamata Banerjee, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav and INC leader Rahul Gandhi for their claims about the Constitution. The power to grant citizenship to refugees lies with the central government, not the state governments. Mamata Banerjee should understand that the authority to grant citizenship or decide who should be settled does not belong to the state government. Reminding her that after the 1971 war, the central government had decided to settle displaced people. Shri Prasad questioned why Mamta Banerjee is making such declarations, suggesting that it undermines national unity and raises concerns about the relationship of West Bengal with India. Mamta Banerjee made statements that seem to disregard West Bengal's historical and cultural contributions to India, including figures like Shri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Shri Vivekananda, and Rabindranath Tagore.

Shri Prasad pointed out that at the time of India's independence, only three districts in Bengal had a Muslim majority, but now nine districts in West Bengal have a Muslim majority. According to the latest study, even the demographics of Kolkata are changing. Several districts in West Bengal are filled with Bangladeshi infiltrators and Rohingyas. Mamata Banerjee has no concern about the country's security. According to the NIA investigation, many main suspects in terrorist incidents receive protection in Bengal.

BJP MP Shri Prasad highlighted that the INDI alliance actively engages in divisive vote bank politics undermining India's unity and cohesion. There are voices in South India advocating for its separation from the rest of the country. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi directly engages with Chinese leaders. Illegal infiltration is impacting Jharkhand as well. During Congress' governance, Assam faced significant challenges due to illegal infiltration. This situation is deeply regrettable and unfortunate. BJP karyakartas face attacks and RSS volunteers are targeted in Bengal. Anyone advocating Rashtravad in India faces risks in Bengal. Mamata Banerjee's statement on this issue is widely seen as irresponsible and regrettable, and BJP strongly condemns it.
