RAKSHA APP
India is going through an atmosphere of insecurity from borders to streets. To secure the streets for our daughters, sisters, mothers, friends and all women who are out there working, in schools, colleges, bus-stands, shops, mall, trains and so on. Meenakshi Lekhi, BJP spokesperson, conceptualized this application where everyday technology can be used to enhance the safety and security of women.
From ancient times, Indian women are a symbol of power & knowledge. They are already at par or beyond men when it comes to their capabilities. All they need is a secure environment to grow and work in. Thus Bharatiya Janata Party believes that there is a requirement for a paradigm shift in thinking itself. The shift has to be a move from empowerment to 'Secure/Save my space'. By securing and saving the space for women society will be empowered as we recognize women as the embodiment of power 'Shakti'. Traditionally in Sanskrit grammar all words relating to power are feminine gender. In recognition of our cultural ethos we at Bharatiya Janata Party have decided to launch this application as a step towards women's safety and security named as Raksha.
Raksha app - Ensuring women's safety. Just at the press of a button your near and dear ones know your location. Your selected contacts can see your location and you can even ask them to show theirs. A distress signal just by pressing a single key sends out a loud buzzer to your near and dear ones. Your parents need not worry all the time now. You as a woman need not worry about security.
Even if the Rakhsa app is switched off and isn't running, pressing the volume key for just three seconds alerts the specific contacts you have chosen beforehand. Your location is sent to them on a map which sends them your exact whereabouts.
