Hon’ble National President of BJP and Union Health Minister Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda’s Press Statement
The incident in Bengal is truly heart-wrenching and shook the whole nation. I condemn it and express my deep sorrow. I want to express that my words fell short over the incident and the way CM Mamata Bnerji’s government did to hide it is highly condemnable.
West Bengal has become a state where there is no law at all in TMC government. Lawlessness is at its peak, and the sad part is that atrocities against women are increasing day by day in West Bengal. All this is happening despite having a woman Chief Minister, which is even more worrying. I would also like to say that the way the CM Mamata Bnerji’s government has tried to hush up this case, suppress it, and deceive the public is deeply concerning, and I strongly condemn it. I welcome the decision of the High Court to order a CBI inquiry, and I have full faith that this investigation will bring out the truth.
Many delegations from doctors' associations have met with us in the last two days, and I have assured them that the Central government and Ministries are deeply concerned about the attacks on doctors. I am committed to finding a remedy to this problem, and the Centre will take every possible step to make it happen.
