Following resolutions were passed in the meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party Mahila Morcha meeting:

RESOLUTION- 1

For a country to be empowered, the empowerment of women is extremely vital. Any country will not progress until women get equal opportunity. Acknowledging this fact, Modi ji Government in last seven years has ensured that women are being given ample benefits, equal opportunity and plentiful opportunity. So much has been done for the welfare of women under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, that this period has become the most significant time-period for 'Women Empowerment' in the history of Independent India.

Women-led development:

In shaping New India’s growth story, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has clearly emphasized that India is transitioning from women development to ‘women-led development’. In his grand vision, women have been re-imagined as architects of India’s progress and development. To promote women-led development, a key focus has been on building the capacities in terms of nutrition, health, and education.

'Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana', a direct benefit transfer (DBT) for pregnant women and lactating mothers to meet enhanced nutritional needs and to partially compensate for wage loss. In FY 2019-20, the scheme has crossed a significant milestone by reaching out to one crore beneficiaries.

In the Modi ji era, there have been remarkable improvements in women’s health and access to sanitation. Under the 'Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin', there has been a rapid increase in target achievement from 39 percent in 2014 to 100 percent in 2019 with more than 10 crore toilets built since 2014. The impact of such infrastructural developments is corroborated by a UNICEF study on ‘Access to Toilets and Safety, Convenience and Self-respect of Women in Rural India’ (February, 2020), which states that 91 percent of the women reported that they have been able to save up to an hour and do not have to travel up to a kilometer for defecation after the construction of toilets. Further, the decline in the maternal mortality rate from 167 (in 2011-13) to 113 (in 2016-18)  exemplifies the government’s commitment to promoting maternal health and well-being.

Notable progress has also been made in the education of women. 'Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana', launched as part of 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao', to facilitate the education of the girl child, has already reached out to more than three crore aspirational young women. Further, there has been encouraging progress on the front of women’s higher education as well. For instance, there has been an increase in PhD enrolment of women to 43.82 percent in 2018 from 40 percent in 2013-14 because of various measures taken by the Modi ji government. BJP Mahila Morcha is fully determined to ensure that all the game changer, flagship schemes introduced by the Centre reach down to the grassroots. Our volunteers and office bearers across all districts of the country will lead the outreach program.

India fights Corona:

Besides women-centric schemes and programs, financial inclusion of women has also been a key focus area, and the 'Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana' has played a major role in this regard. In view of the coronavirus crisis, Modi ji government went out of it's way to empower women during these testing times. As soon as the Lockdown was announced in March 2020, Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji immediately announced a big relief for women. 20 crore Jan Dhan account holding women have received Rs 10,025 crores in their accounts so far.

India's fight against COVID-19 is inspiring the world. BJP led Government of India is taking all necessary steps to ensure that we are well prepared to face the challenges and threats posed by the deadly Corona virus. In the initial stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, the whole world was worried about India's situation. But today, India's fight against the virus is inspiring the entire world.

India's ₹20 lakh crore Covid19 relief package - one among the largest in the world is equivalent to almost 10 percent of India's GDP.

Social benefits under the 'Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana' have now been extended to economically vulnerable households till November 2021 in view of the COVID-19 pandemic and related lockdowns. The additional support under the scheme by the central government will be in cash and in-kind benefits. Under the scheme, 81 crore individuals are being provided with 5 kilos of rice or wheat and 1 kilo of chana every month. The fresh stimulus will include cash transfers to 20 crore Jan Dhan accounts. The beneficiaries of the scheme will include 3 crore poor senior citizens and poor widows.

Women's Self Help groups in India have a very strong network and reach. Women organised through 63 lakhs self-help groups are said to support 6.85 crore households. For these women, limit of collateral free lending will now increase from ₹10 lakhs to ₹20 lakhs and is specially designed to help them by additional credit availability.

So many empowering schemes & benefits, especially during the lockdown, have helped India's women tide the crisis smoothly.

The Mahila Morcha of the Bhartiya Janta Party congratulates and thanks the Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji for these significant and important achievements. Our sisters have been extremely active on ground, assisting people and providing them with masks, sanitizers, food packets, donating blood etc.

We resolve to continue our #MahilaMorchaHelps & #SevaHiSangathan outreach with the same fervour & focus.

West Bengal - Tyranny of Mamata Banerjee govt:

Following the victory of Trinamool Congress in the recent West Bengal assembly elections, several incidents of violence came to the fore in the state.

We have been flooded with calls, pictures and videos of terrifying violence unleashed by the TMC cadre on BJP workers, supporters and voters across West Bengal. It is mayhem out there. Women especially, were targeted, dragged out of their homes, beaten, molested and even raped. It was as if the perpetrators of violence had a 'licence to kill'. The helpless people had nowhere to go because even the state administration and police paid no heed and no effective steps were taken to ensure the safety and security of the victims, which included women and children.

BJP Mahila Morcha office bearers are personally in touch with hundreds of women who have suffered barbaric post poll violence including molestation and rape. But those women are quiet, well aware that if they dare to speak up, they will be silenced forever. There is also no official record of the horrific brutalities inflicted upon them because the West Bengal Police refuse to even acknowledge or register their complaints. It is understood, their hands are tied. They are merely pawns.

After assembly election results were declared, fearing for their lives, hundreds of BJP workers had to flee West Bengal and are now taking shelter in the neighbouring state of Assam.

Bengal is burning because of 'State sponsored' violence. Barbarity of this extent has never been witnessed in the country's electoral history. It is evident, the victims are being punished by Mamata Banerjee only because they chose to exercise an important and fundamental right that was their only hope to have their voice heard in a state which has registered the maximum number of political murders in the country and where the level of savagery is unprecedented.

The foundation of India's vibrant democracy is built on voices of dissent and differences of opinions, irrespective of ideologies. India, being the most diverse and largest democracy in the world, must not only live up to these all-embracing principles but it should also be setting an example for the other developing nations. Is it too much to expect free and fair elections? Is it too much to expect protection of basic human rights? Is it too much to expect that laws and procedures apply equally to all citizens?

Democracy can only be measured on the existence of an Opposition. The Opposition's main role is to hold the government accountable to the public. Upholding the best interests of the people is not just the onus of the ruling party but also of the opposition. But sadly, in the case of West Bengal, the personal interests of the ruling  party seem to be more important than the legitimate rights of civil society.

The absolute indifference of the TMC Govt. to the brutal atrocities being committed on innocent civilians is shocking to say the least. It is extremely disappointing that in countering our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, they chose to treat someone's tragedy as a political opportunity. This delibrate silence will be considered complicity and history will judge them accordingly. As for West Bengal, make no mistake, it will regain its lost glory. It will rise again from the ashes, to realise the dream of 'Sonar Bangla' - with them, without them, inspite of them!

BJP Mahila Morcha strongly condemns the ongoing post poll violence in West Bengal. Murders, gang-rape and looting by TMC workers against BJP supporters is disgusting and highly condemnable and we demand the restoration of Law and order situation in Bengal at the earliest and also we appeal leaders of the political parties to respond to the voices of the women victims in the state.

Women on the Front Lines :

From health care to home care, restaurants to grocery stores, women workers, low-paid workers, and women of color are on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Women in India Come Together to Fight COVID-19

It is time to recognize the efforts of these unseen heroes of the crisis and acknowledge the critical roles that women play in Indian society.

These are unprecedented times. This global pandemic has forced schools to close, businesses to shutter, and people to quarantine.

A vast majority — nearly 83 percent — of these frontline workers are female nurses who have consistently been putting their lives at risk.

The situation is even starker in rural areas, where health facilities are scant and medical professionals can be hard to find. In these areas, women accounting for 1 million Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) workers are the core providers of health care and medical services.

Amid the pandemic and its devastating consequences, thousands of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) dominated by women have emerged as effective frontline responders in India’s fight against the coronavirus. Mahila Morcha is gratitude for the contribution they have made during covid 19 period.

Political Leadership :

Although India is far from attaining gender equity in politics, women leaders along with the frontline healthcare workers have shouldered the responsibility to stay ahead in the battle against the COVID-19 crisis.

These women leaders have been organizing sanitation drives, monitoring surveillance activities, conducting contact tracing and ration distribution, and more.

While we are still trying to grasp the nature and diverse effects of the on-going pandemic, we need to celebrate and acknowledge the contributions of these women in tackling the epidemic. We also need to include the success of women’s leadership, their achievement, needs, and concerns in our debates and policymaking processes. Last but not the least, we must continue to strengthen them and provide them with the much-needed economic and social empowerment.
