Salient points of the speech given by the BJP National President, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda to the media on "Budget 2022-23", thanking Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman ji

 

     As India celebrates Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Union Budget 2022-23 is a Budget focused on welfare and upliftment of the poor and weaker sections. It is the Budget that will empower the poor and make them self-reliant. It is a Budget dedicated to Rural Development, Agriculture Development, Welfare of our workers, Infrastructure Development, and development and progress of our Himalayan and North-Eastern States. The Budget also emphasizes the commitment of the Narendra Modi government towards social justice, equality, life with dignity and equal opportunity to all. The Budget will further facilitate Ease of Living, which has been the hallmark of the Bharatiya Janata Party government led by our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji.

 

     In the Budget the expenditure has been pegged at Rs 39.45 lakh crore which showcases India's strength as a rapidly growing economy. The Government has also done a commendable job in reducing the fiscal deficit target from 6.9% to 6.4%.

 

     The Union Budget comes at a time when India, under the leadership of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, is fighting a decisive battle against the Corona pandemic. This Budget fulfills the hopes and aspirations of all sections of the society, particularly the micro, small and medium enterprises sector, besides giving India's Infrastructure Development a whole new dimension. The Budget is not a one-year economic agenda, our Budget is a solid blueprint of the coming 25 years of economic development that will lay a strong foundation of making India world's strongest economy and a developed nation.

 

     I congratulate and thank our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, our Union Finance Minister Smt Nirmala Sitharaman ji, and her entire team for giving us such a progressive and growth-oriented Budget which touches the lives of all sections of our society, and it addresses the needs of all sections of our economy.

 

     In his Independence Day Speech from the ramparts of Red Fort, our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji had announced the launch of Rs 100 lakh crore Gati Shakti Yojna, and this Budget has given wings to this highly ambitious plan.

 

     This year's Union Budget also focuses on the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme which aims at meeting our goals of making Atmanirbhar Bharat. PLI scheme has received a very encouraging response which will lead to generation of 60 lakh new jobs and increased production worth Rs 30 lakh crore in next 5 years. It will keep the foundation of New India.

 

     The Budget has provision for constructing new 25,000 km National Highways with an expenditure of Rs 20,000 crores. Our Government has also made plans to interconnect 5 big rivers with the help of Jal Shakti Mantralaya. Rs 44,605 crore will be spent on the Betwa Link project which will be the lifeline of 62 lakh people living in the Bundelkhand region. I thank our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji for this very important initiative.

 

     The Bharatiya Janata Party government at the Center under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is committed to agricultural development, welfare of farmers and doubling their income. The government has made a provision for record purchase on MSP in the budget. Special steps have been taken to promote organic farming. Special focus will be given on the land of the farmers living on the banks of the Ganges, for which a 5 km wide corridor has been planned. The plan for digitization of land records has also been emphasized.

 

     More steps have been taken by the government to provide additional credit to help 130 lakh MSMEs In this budget. Financial assistance of about Rs 6,000 crore will be given to MSMEs in the next 5 years. In addition, an additional loan of Rs 2 lakh crore has been arranged.

 

     In this budget, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has been given more extension. 80 lakh additional houses will be built for the poor. For this, a budget of Rs 48,000 crore has been allocated in the budget.

 

     Strengthening the federal structure of India, Shri Narendra Modi government has announced an allocation of Rs 1 lakh crore to the states in 2022-23 which will be interest free for 50 years and will be separate from the normal loan given to the states. I welcome Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman ji for this historic step.

 

     Rs.1,500 crore has been made for the development of North East. At the same time, a provision has been made to run the Vibrant Village Program for the development of the villages located on the northern border. An announcement has also been made to start a tele-mental health program. Along with this, Mission Shakti, Mission Vatsalya, Saksham Anganwadi Poshan 2.0 campaign have also been started. In addition, 2 lakh Anganwadis will also be upgraded. Tap water has been supplied to households at a cost of about Rs.60,000 crore.  

 

     All 1.5 lakh post offices in the country have been linked with banking. Now on completion of 75 years of independence, 75 digital banks will be set up in 75 districts. All post offices in the country will be linked to the core banking system.

 

     About 8,500 old laws and 1,486 Central laws have been abolished. The green clearance window will be expanded. One nation, one registration policy has been launched.

 

     Due to the closure of schools during the epidemic, the children of the village were deprived of education for two years. Now the channels will be increased from 12 to 200 under the one class - one TV channel program for such children under PM e-Vidya. These channels will be in regional languages. A digital university will be set up.

 

     The provision to confiscate the property found in Tax Raid to curb corruption is commendable. Corporate tax has been reduced from 18% to 15% which will give a boost to the industry.

 

     25% of the Defense budget will be opened to the defense R&D industry, startups and academia. Private industry will be encouraged to design and develop military platforms and equipment in collaboration with DRDO and other organizations through the SPV model.

 

     I once again congratulate Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman ji and their entire team for this historic budget. This general budget will give new strength to the economic cycle of the country coming out of the Covid transition period and will help in the all-inclusive development of the country.
