Salient points of the Joint Press Conference of Union Minister Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar and BJP National Vice President Shri Dilip Ghosh

The Union Minister Shri Rajeev Chandrashekhar and the BJP National Vice President Shri Dilip Ghosh today addressed a joint press conference at the BJP headquarters in Delhi and targetted the Manata Banerjee led Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal for the SSC recruitment scam in the state where the Enforcement Directorate has recovered Rs 21 crore in cash, property worth over Rs 75 crores besides gold and foreign currency worth crores from the house of a close associate of the West Bengal Industry Minister (Former Education Minister) Partha Chatterjee.

Targetting West Bengal Chief Minister Smt Mamata Banerjee, Shri Rajeev Chandrashekhar said --

In a well planned conspiracy, Mamata Banerjee is trying to target the central law enforcement agencies and its senior officers and spreading canard so that her political and financial crimes remains under the carpet and are not made public. It is a ploy to hush up cases of massive corruption and scam of the Mamata Banerjee led Trinamool Congress government.

Yesterday night, the Enforcement Directorate officials conducted raids in the house of a close associate of the West Bengal Industry Minister and former education minister Partha Chatterjee where they recovered Rs 21 crore in cash, property worth over Rs 75 crores besides gold and foreign currency worth crores. Ironically till a few days ago West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee used to praise her minister Partha Chatterjee and his associates for their 'good work', now the entire world knows what kind of work they were doing.

Recently, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had lauded Partha Chatterjee ( whose close associate's house has been raided where cash worth crores of rupees has been recorded apart from jewellery and foreign currency) and said "keep doing good work". Now it has become very obvious what this "good work" is. It is because of the "good work" that illegal money and property worth crores is being accumulated.

The recovery of crores of rupees in cash and also illegal property from the house of a close associate of a West Bengal Minister is a big political crime. The public funds are meant for the welfare and development of people and for public welfare schemes, but in West Bengal this money is being usurped by political party which is in power.

Mamata Banerjee leads from the front in all the opposition sponsored campaigns aimed at maligning central law enforcement agencies. She patronises corruption and nepotism. Mamata Banerjee always try to weaken central law enforcement agencies so that the cases of political corruption and political crimes can be subverted. She always try to shield corrupt political persons.

A few days ago in a similar manner like West Bengal, cash worth several crores was recovered from the house of a close associate of the Jharkhand Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren.  Similarly huge sums of ill gotten money and illegal property worth crores were recovered from the possession of a minister of the erstwhile MVA government in Maharashtra.

The current Chief Minister of Kerala is also involved in the case of gold smuggling. Several senior Congress leaders including the members of one Family are already out on bail in various corruption charges. Property worth several crores was also recovered from the house of senior Congress leader from Karnataka DK Shivakumar in an income tax raid. Similarly, cash worth several crores has also been recovered from the house of a close associate of the leader of the principal opposition party in Uttar Pradesh.

One common thing in all these cases is that these political parties and their leaders have started a malicious campaign against our central law enforcement agencies to break their morale.

Our law enforcement agencies have so far recovered and seized over Rs 1,05,675 crores. On the other hand the thieves are crying foul because they are now exposed as all their scams and financial frauds are being made public. They are trying hard to target the law enforcement agencies to hide their corruption and crime cases.

A few days back the Congress party tried to put pressure on investigating agency Enforcement Directorate by disturbing peace and harmony across the country when their President Sonia Gandhi and former president Rahul Gandhi were summoned. Today it has become a trend for the opposition parties to hide their corruption cases by holding protests and by launching fake campaign against the law enforcement agencies.

The Narendra Modi Government has empowered all the law enforcement agencies to work independently, honestly and in an unbiased manner. India's fight against corruption and black money will continue uninterrupted under the leadership of our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji.

The Bharatiya Janata Party National Vice President Shri Dilip Ghosh said --

A few days ago West Bengal Chief Minister Smt Mamata Banerjee had openly praised her Minister Partha Chatterjee and his close female associate. It is also a truth that under the Mamata Banerjee government the recruitment process has never been fair and transparent, and every government recruitment process there has been massive corruption and nepotism.

Mamata Banerjee claims that she knows everything, but she does not know what her ministers are doing. On one hand we see Enforcement Directorate officials recovering huge cash, gold and foreign currency worth crores from the house of a close associate of the West Bengal Minister Partha Chatterjee, and on the other hand we see Mamata Banerjee and her Trinamool Congress Party leaders openly threatening the CBI, ED, Income Tax and other central law enforcement agencies officials.

Six months back a senior Trinamool Congress Party leader was killed in bomb blast in Birbhum in West Bengal. The names of several leaders have come in this bomb blast case and all these leaders used to be labourers and daily wagers but now they all are living in houses worth several crores. Today all these leaders are worth several crores. Property worth Rs 150 crores has been recovered from the bodyguard of a Trinamool Congress district president. It is the Trinamool Congress Party leaders who have flourished on public money while the people of West Bengal continue to suffer.

During the lockdown Partha Chatterjee spent Rs 45 crores to construct a college building in West Midnapur. He has several private properties in Diamond Harbour including a private school. The people of West Bengal knows about this corruption, but no one in the state will dare to speak against this corruption because uttering anything against the Trinamool Congress leaders will land them in jail. When I spoke about this several cases were registered against me. Today under the Mamata Banerjee government corruption and nepotism rule the roost in every government work and tenders in West Bengal
