SALIENT POINTS OF THE PRESS CONFERENCE ADDRESSED TODAY BY THE BJP KISAN MORCHA HEAD AND MP SHRI RAJKUMAR CHAHAR AND BJP MP SHRI VIJAYPAL SINGH TOMAR

 

   The Bharatiya Janata Party Kisan Morcha President and MP Shri Rajkumar Chahar and BJP MP Shri Vijaypal Singh Tomar today addressed the media and said that the decision by the Union Cabinet under the leadership of our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji to increase the Fair and Remunerative Price ( FRP ) of sugarcane to its highest level of Rs 290 per quintal is historic and the entire Bharatiya Janata Party and the farming community thank the Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji . It also shows the the Narendra Modi government is always with the farmers and cares for the welfare and upliftment of our farming community .

 

 

The FRP rate enhancement announced by the Narendra Modi government is highest so far in the country . The decision by the Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji will benefit around 5 crore sugarcane farmers in the country besides benefitting around 5 lakh workers working directly and indirectly in the sector .

 

To safeguard the interests of the farmers the Narendra Modi government that there will be no action in the matters related to the sugar mills where the collection is less than 9.5 per cent .

 

From the day the Bharatiya Janata Party has formed the government under the leadership of Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji there has been decisions to help and support our sugarcane farmers . In the sugarcane season of there was pending payment worth around Rs 75,845 crore out of which the payment of Rs 75,703 crores has already been done . In the sugarcane season of 2020-21 the due payment of Rs 90,959 crores was there , and by August 23 , 2021 the payment of Rs 86,238 crores have already been done .

 

Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has also given soft loan package to the tune of Rs 4000 crore so that the sugar mills can directly make ethanol from sugarcane juice . Sugar mills have already started working on this project and results will visible soon and it would greatly benefit our farmers .

 

The Congress led United Progressive Alliance ( UPA ) government had imported 40 lakh metric tonnes sugar from Brazil when there was no need for it in the country . And then for another one and a half year the government tried to distribute it unnecessarily when there was no need .

 

In the sugar season of 2021-22 the production expenditure of sugarcane is Rs 155 per quintal .  The 10 per cent increase in the minimum price that mills have to pay to sugarcane growers, also known as the Fair and Remunerative Price ( FRP ), by Rs 5 per quintal to Rs 290 a quintal is 87.1 per cent higher than the production expenditure . It fulfills that the government promise of giving our farmers more than 50 per cent more return of their produce .

 

The decision of our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji will make our farmers more prosperous and strong . It will also help in doubling the income of our farmers and make our farmers prosperous .

 

The Narendra Modi government is highly committed to make farmers self reliant and financially strong . Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has done so much for the welfare and upliftment of farmers . No government in the past 70 years has done so much for the development and welfare of our farmers .

 

Under the Pradhanmantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna so far 9 installments have been issued so far where over Rs 1.5 lakh crores have been directly disbursed into there bank accounts . Also , the Narendra Modi government has increased the DAP fertilizer subsidy by 140 per cent to benefit farmers , specially poor and marginal farmers . This year there has been record procurement of foodgrains due to increase in Minimum Support Price ( MSP ) . Similarly , under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Yojna over Rs 1 lakh crores is being invested to improve the basic infrastructure of the agriculture sector in the country .
