SALIENT POINTS OF THE PRESS CONFERENCE OF THE BJP NATIONAL SPOKESPERSON DR. SAMBIT PATRA HELD TODAY REGARDING EXPOSE BY THE SUPREME COURT APPOINTED COMMITTEE ON SHORTAGE IN MEDICAL OXYGEN SUPPLY IN DELHI AND GROSS FAILURE OF THE ARVIND KEJRIWAL GOVERNMENT
The kind of dirty politics that the Arvind Kejriwal government played in Delhi on supply of medical oxygen, it has all been exposed in the interim report of the Supreme Court appointed Committee on the issue. It is very hard to believe that someone who is in such an important position can blatantly lie on such a sensitive and important issue of oxygen supply in Delhi. How can anyone stoop to such low and play his petty politics when the lives of several Corona affected people in Delhi were at stake?
The truth that has come out in the Supreme Court appointed Committee report is very shocking and sickening. The report says that the Arvind Kejriwal government inflated the demand for medical oxygen in Delhi by four times. It was a deep rooted conspiracy by the Arvind Kejriwal government which was hatched to cover up its gross failures in Corona management and to shift blame in others for innocent deaths in Delhi.
During the second wave of Corona pandemic when the entire nation needed critical medical oxygen supplies, the excessive demand for oxygen by the Arvind Kejriwal government is a clear act of criminal neglect.
In the Supreme Court the Delhi government said that the Central Government was not making medical oxygen available to Delhi which was needed for Corona patients. But the committee report has revealed that due to white lies of the Arvind Kejriwal government supplies of medical oxygen to 11 states, which they needed urgently, was severely affected and they had to suffer due to the incompetence and lies of the Arvind Kejriwal government. This is nothing but a criminal act committed by the Arvind Kejriwal government.
Kejriwal ji, since you had failed miserably in Covid management in Delhi and you to shift blame of your gross failures on someone else, you created this excuse of deficit in oxygen supplies. Kejriwal ji you also abused the governments of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.
The expose has revealed that Arvind Kejriwal demanded 1140 metric oxygen for Delhi on one day. But when data was collected from various Delhi hospitals to find out what was real demand of oxygen in Delhi it was found that the requirement was only for 209 metric tonnes. The excess oxygen was kept in storage. Had this excess oxygen which was unnecessarily blocked by the Arvind Kejriwal government been supplied to Uttar Pradesh and Haryana several lives could have been saved.
In Delhi the number of oxygen beds that were available at that time on 289 metric tonnes of oxygen was needed. Even the Supreme Court appointed committee report has said that in Delhi the requirement of oxygen was between 284 and 372 metric tonnes, but the Arvind Kejriwal government unnecessarily demanded excess oxygen which affected the oxygen supplies of other states.
It was because of the lies of Arvind Kejriwal that medical oxygen supplies of 12 states was affected because the oxygen supplies of these states had to be diverted to Delhi. Had these states been given oxygen supplies on time many lives could have been saved. For this blatant lies he should be made guilty in Supreme Court and he should be punished.
The Arvind Kejriwal government said in Supreme Court that the calculation for medical oxygen demand was based on the ICMR guidelines, but when the Supreme Court appointed committee asked for the copy of the ICMR guidelines, he refused to give it. It very clearly proves that the Arvind Kejriwal government lied blatantly in the Supreme Court.
A person who can say big white lies so blatantly on oxygen supplies, imagine what he will do with ration supplies for poor? Arvind Kejriwal is only interested in taking his name to Delhi homes. Arvind Kejriwal ji you are responsible for deaths in Jaipur Golden Hospital and Batra Hospital, you are responsible for losses of those families. And this is clearly evident from the report of the Supreme Court appointed committee.
