Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi addressed a press conference at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi on Friday. During the press conference, Dr Trivedi criticized the Congress party for its historical governance failures and misleading promises. He contrasted the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, emphasizing justice, unity, and national development. Dr Trivedi pointed out discrepancies in Congress’ manifesto, questioning unfulfilled pledges and lack of transparency.

Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi remarked that today the main opposition party and the grand old party, which is on the verge of becoming the oldest from old, is moving towards the path of obligation. Dr. Trivedi noted that having ruled the country for almost 60 years, they are now saying that if given the opportunity, they will work for the public. After governing continuously for 4 terms, Congress is now saying that they will demonstrate their work. Dr. Trivedi asserted that currently, the inflation rate is around 5% and the unemployment rate is 3.1%. He highlighted that in the last 50 years, out of the years with the lowest inflation rates, 8-9 years belong to the tenure of the Bharatiya Janata Party. India presently has the highest growth rate among G-20 countries. Dr. Trivedi emphasized that in 1974, 50 years ago, the inflation rate was 26% and the growth rate was 1.19%. In recent times, except for 2020 which was during the Covid pandemic, every time inflation has been above 10%, it has been during Congress' tenure.

Dr. Trivedi highlighted that the image of water management in the Congress manifesto is of New York's Buffalo River. The image related to environmental cleaning is from Thailand. The photo used in the environment section of the Congress manifesto is of Thailand, Rahul Gandhi's favorite destination. He suggested that until now, Congress leaders did not know who was posting from their social media head's account, but their party should have known which images were being used in their manifesto.

Dr. Trivedi emphasized that in his speech today, AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge claimed that when Congress came to power, not even a needle was made in the country. Dr. Trivedi countered the claim by pointing out that for the first time, the ballistic missile was made during the BJP's tenure. He highlighted that India's first power project, the Shivanasamudra power project, started in Mysuru in 1902, and the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, was established in 1916. The first dam was built in Mysuru before independence, but according to Mallikarjun Kharge, there were not even needles made in the country. The Minto eye hospital was established, and CV Raman was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1930, but according to Congress, all educational institutions were opened by Pt. Nehru in the country. After independence, doctors and engineers were all made by the grace of Pt. Nehru as per the Congress party. Dr. Trivedi emphasized that the founder of RSS, Dr. Hedgewar had obtained a doctorate in 1930. Congress claims inheritance of everything, but they seem disconnected from reality.

Dr. Trivedi argued that Congress misled the public when media freedom was limited and literacy rates were low. When the literacy rate of the country crossed 50% for the first time, the Bharatiya Janata Party government was formed for the first time in 1998. Then, when the literacy rate surpassed 60%, the government of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was elected with a clear majority in 2014. Now, as the literacy rate approaches 75%, the NDA is poised to form a ‘400 Paar’ government. This demonstrated that it is increasingly difficult to mislead the public through falsehoods.

The BJP National spokesperson highlighted that when AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge announced the provision of 1 lakh rupees to women, there was no response from the media. He questioned why, despite Rahul Gandhi's 2019 promise of providing 72,000 rupees to farmer and the Congress government's presence in states like Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, the promised funds were not disbursed. Dr Trivedi emphasized that Congress named their manifesto 'Nyay Patra,' indicating an acknowledgement of the injustices they committed during their 55 years of governance. Dr. Trivedi highlighted that those who failed to uphold the potential of the youth, industries, economy, and security of the nation are evident. He also criticized the Congress for compromising national territories in the name of foreign policy weakness, despite the sacrifices made by the army to protect India's borders.

Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi criticized the Congress by contrasting the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, which focuses on justice, unity, and excellence in serving the poor and advancing the nation's development and security. He highlighted the strength of the NDA alliance in bolstering national pride. In contrast, he depicted the opposition as marred by internal contradictions, distrust, and selfish motives, with leaders prioritizing personal gain and party interests over public welfare. He characterized the opposition as a coalition of confusion and falsehoods, contrasting it with the trustworthiness associated with Modi's leadership. Dr Sudhanshu Trivedi asserted that the Congress's manifesto aims to sow confusion, as it fails to deliver on its promises, both at the centre and in state governments.
