Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokespersons Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi and Shri Prem Shukla addressed a joint press conference at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi on Thursday. During the press conference, Dr. Trivedi criticized the recent remarks of Chhattisgarh Leader of Opposition Charan Das Mahant against PM Shri Narendra Modi. He also condemned Congress MP Randeep Singh Surjewala’s derogatory remarks against BJP MP Smt Hema Malini, terming it as an insult to 'Nari Shakti'. Additionally, Shri Prem Shukla raised concerns about the Katchatheevu island issue and stated that Congress's casual approach in the matter has created hardships for Tamil Nadu’s fishermen.

Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi remarked that as the nation approaches the Lok Sabha elections and the popularity of PM Shri Narendra Modi continues to rise, the opposition, especially the Congress, has shown signs of losing their composure. Dr. Trivedi highlighted Chhattisgarh Leader of Opposition Charan Das Mahant's recent derogatory remarks against PM Shri Narendra Modi reflecting the Congress' poor mentality.  Dr. Trivedi emphasized that such statements stem from jealousy, a lack of respect, and lingering grudges within the Congress, which he considers highly regrettable for Indian politics. Dr. Trivedi brought attention to Charan Das Mahant's statement “A stick-wielding person can break Modi’s head.” He questioned whether such rhetoric is reflective of the Congress's Mohabbat ki Dukan. Dr. Trivedi emphasized that Charan Das Mahant's remarks were not merely an accidental slip of the tongue. He pointed out that Mahant further elaborated on the statement during his speech, indicating a deliberate intent behind the words spoken.

Dr. Trivedi highlighted that such low-level remarks are not isolated incidents. He referenced a previous incident in 2014 when now-Congress Saharanpur candidate Imran Masood made derogatory remarks against PM Shri Narendra Modi, stating, "Modiji ki boti boti kardunga." Dr. Trivedi expressed that the more the Congress lowers itself in its attacks against PM Shri Narendra Modi, the greater the love and support he receives from the public.

BJP National spokesperson and MP highlighted that Congress leader Randeep Surjewala also gave a statement in which he used inappropriate and disrespectful words for BJP MP Smt Hema Malini, which are not even suitable to be spoken from any official platform. This is a new low for the Congress party, to disrespect and demean women in Indian politics. Dr. Trivedi stated that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has elevated the dignity of women. When India became the first country to touch the South Pole of the moon, Shri Narendra Modi named that point 'Shiv Shakti', to honor the contributions of female scientists. Dr. Trivedi emphasized that the vocabulary of the BJP includes 'Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam' and not the just ‘Mahila Aarakshan Bill’, while the language used by the Congress is so inappropriate that it cannot even be uttered on official platforms.

Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi stated that the issue is not just about one statement but about the systematic and well-orchestrated disrespectful mindset of the Congress party towards women’s dignity. He emphasized that just a few days ago, the official Twitter handle of the Congress' social media Chief used inappropriate language, in context to the auspicious land of Mandi. The Congress party has still not been able to ascertain who tweeted from their official handle if it wasn't them.

Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi stated that just a few days ago, Rahul Gandhi also used disrespectful words for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Dr. Trivedi suggested that Congress leaders should be mindful that Smt Hema Malini is of the same age group as Sonia Gandhi. Smt Hema Malini emerged as a self-made woman after independent India and is a symbol of the women who, through their self-reliance and efforts, have established themselves and created an identity at the national level.

Dr. Trivedi highlighted that Rahul Gandhi has repeatedly made derogatory statements about women, whether it's questioning the length of clothes of women in the RSS or accusing people of going to temples to harass women. Dr. Trivedi noted that not only Rahul Gandhi but several senior Congress leaders including Digvijaya Singh, who used demeaning words for his own party's female official. Referring to the data from the NCRB which shows Rajasthan having the highest number of rapes, then Rajasthan Congress Minister’s Shanti Dhariwal remarked, "Rajasthan mardo wala pradesh hai." Additionally, Shashi Tharoor made a disrespectful comment when Manushi Chhillar won the Miss World title. All these instances illustrate the mindset of the Congress party regarding women.

Dr. Trivedi alleged that Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah had reportedly removed a woman's scarf. He also mentioned an incident on April 15, 2018, where Congress Mahila workers complained to the party's leadership about alleged harassment by male party workers during protests against the Kathua rape case. Dr. Trivedi accused the Congress of harboring a systematic and malicious mentality against women. Dr Sudhanshu referenced a remark by INC leader Renuka Chowdhary, who once remarked, "Rape to hote rehte hai," suggesting a lack of empathy from the Congress towards rape victims. Additionally, Dr. Trivedi highlighted an incident on June 25, 2018, in Chhattisgarh, where a female NSUI member accused the then NSUI chairperson of sexual exploitation. Additionally, he mentioned an incident from last year, during a protest at India Gate, where there were reports of misbehavior towards Priyanka Gandhi, which he believes reflects the mindset within the Congress party.

National spokesperson Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi quoted instances of misogynistic remarks made by senior Congress leaders. Dr Trivedi mentioned the then Congress Karnataka President B. Satyanarayan's statement on the Delhi rape case, where he questioned if women could roam outside at night just because India gained independence. Additionally, Dr. Trivedi highlighted a comment made by senior Congress MLA Shiv Shankarappa, who suggested that women should only focus on cooking and not take interest in any other work. Furthermore, he referenced a statement by then-Andhra Pradesh CM Botsa Satyanarayana on December 27, 2012, advising women to stay inside their homes to protect themselves from rape. These instances, according to Dr. Trivedi, highlights the regressive mindset within the Congress party regarding women's rights and safety. The Haryana Congress spokesperson made a controversial remark stating that 90% of rape cases occur due to mutual consent. He mentioned that the statements of Randeep Surjewala are another episode of the series of Congress's malicious mindset and anti-women ideology.

Dr. Trivedi mentioned that former Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot stated that up to 57% of the rape cases are false and in his cabinet, his minister quoted ‘Rajasthan Mardo ka pradesh hai.’ Dr. Trivedi argued that from cases like the Naina Sahni murder case to the protection of accused individuals in cases like Sandeshkhali, these incidents reflect the Congress's mindset towards Nari Shakti. He alleged the congress for removing a portion from Vande Mataram which was dedicated to Nari Shakti. Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi appealed to voters to remember these incidents and to respond fittingly at the Lok Sabha polls, seeking retribution for the insults to Nari Shakti.

Shri Prem Shukla emphasized that when PM Shri Narendra Modi and Union External Affairs Minister Shri S. Jaishankar made remarks on the Katchatheevu island issue, Congress started a foul cry. Yesterday, INDI Alliance ally MDMK leader Vaiko remarked that Congress has betrayed Tamil Nadu on every front. Shri Shukla stated that now even the allies of the INDIA Bloc, whom Congress had considered, believe that the Congress has treated Tamil Nadu unfairly. Not only Tamil Nadu, but the Congress has betrayed the entire nation. In the same way, the casual approach of the Congress in considering Kachchatheevu Island as merely land and handing it over to Sri Lanka has resulted in ongoing hardships for the fishermen of Tamil Nadu. Shri Shukla noted that the DMK and Congress had worked together to betray Tamil Nadu. Now, this is being acknowledged not only by Shri Narendra Modi and Shri S Jaishankar but also by leaders of the INDI alliance. Hence, it is now incumbent upon Congress leaders and Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister to answer why they betrayed the public.
