Salient Points of Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson Shri Gaurav Bhatia’s Press Conference

During the Parliament session, while the ruling NDA government focused on public welfare, opposition parties, particularly Congress and Rahul Gandhi, engaged in negative politics

Did Rahul Gandhi express concern about the 1,200 farmer suicides in Karnataka? Did he inquire with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah about the reasons behind these incidents?
********************

Where has Rahul Gandhi been after the suicides of farmers? Why hasn’t he met with the farmers of Karnataka or taken any action against Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar for insulting them?

********************

Congress has failed to fulfill 6 out of 7 education promises and 14 out of 15 employment promises. With only 3% of promises kept and 97% broken, breaking promises seems to be the DNA of Congress and Rahul Gandhi

********************

UPA government was involved in a ₹50,000 crore loan waiver scam for farmers. In contrast, under Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, ₹3,25,000 crore has been provided to farmers through the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme

********************

Congress party is anti-farmer and anti-SC/ST/OBC. They made false promises and failed to deliver on them after the elections, which amounts to deceiving the people of the country

Bhartiya Janata Party National Spokesperson Shri Gaurav Bhatia convened a press conference at the party's central office on Saturday. During the press conference, Shri Gaurav Bhatia criticized the Congress for failing to fulfill numerous promises, including those related to education, employment, and farmers’ welfare. He highlighted the Congress’s unfulfilled commitments, the lack of action on farmer suicides, and the increased taxes despite election promises. He also accused Congress of deceit and hypocrisy, contrasting it with the Modi government’s achievements.

Shri Bhatia expressed that while the NDA government was focused on discussing issues relevant to the people's welfare in Parliament, the opposition parties, particularly the Congress Party and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, were engaged in negative politics, creating noise, and avoiding accountability. Congress's true nature is one of deceit and betrayal. We must expose their broken promises and the lack of trust in their governments.

BJP National Spokesperson Shri Bhatia questioned Rahul Gandhi about the situation in Karnataka, where the Congress government has been in power for 15 months. According to reports, over 1,200 farmers have committed suicide in Karnataka, primarily due to the false promises made by Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi has failed to show concern or question Chief Minister K. Siddaramaiah about the farmers' suicides. The Congress manifesto for Karnataka promised to work for farmers' welfare and take concrete steps for their betterment. Their inaction reveals a stark contrast to these promises.

Shri Bhatia noted that Rahul Gandhi has not met with the farmers of Karnataka, and despite Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar accusing the farmers' families of lying, no action has been taken against him. Isn't it Rahul Gandhi's responsibility to face the public and provide answers?

BJP National Spokesperson Shri Bhatia criticized the Congress Party for their alleged hypocrisy and double standards, especially when compared to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s commitment to farmers. While the Modi-led government has directly transferred ₹3.25 lakh crore to farmers accounts under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the previous UPA government failed to deliver on its ₹50,000 crore loan waiver promise, which turned into a scam. A recent report on Karnataka’s Congress government shows that out of 59 promises made, only two (3%) were fulfilled, leaving 97% unmet. Rahul Gandhi and Congress have a DNA of deceit. Rahul has to demonstrate what he has done for farmers and to fulfill his promises. The people are deeply disappointed with the performance of Congress-governed states.

Shri Bhatia alleged that Congress had made 7 promises in the education sector, out of which 6 remain unfulfilled. In the employment sector, 14 out of 15 promises made by Congress are still unfulfilled. Among the 5 guarantees Congress promised, one is the Gruh Lakshmi Yojana. However, women in Karnataka have not received the two-month allowance under this scheme. When questioned about the delay in payments, ministers attributed it to a 'technical glitch.' This 'technical glitch' is not an issue within the Karnataka government, rather the glitch lies within the administrative system and the minds of K. Siddaramaiah and Rahul Gandhi.

BJP National Spokesperson Shri Bhatia stated that Congress had promised to fill all vacancies for staff and doctors in the public health sector and government hospitals, but these commitments remain unfulfilled. Additionally, their promise to establish fully equipped trauma centers every 100 kilometers on highways has not been met. In education, Congress pledged to reduce fees for students from below-poverty-line families, but this has not materialized due to Siddaramaiah's involvement in corruption. Instead, the Congress administration has been favoring personal interests, such as granting land belonging to the backward classes to Siddaramaiah’s wife under the MUDA scam. The Karnataka government is 'anti farmer' and 'anti SC/ST/OBC.'

Shri Bhatia stated that during the Karnataka elections, AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge was aware of the promises made by Congress. However, the public of Karnataka now feels betrayed, similar to the sentiments in Himachal Pradesh. Instead of addressing inflation, the Siddaramaiah-led government increased the sales tax on diesel and petrol by ₹3, causing further hardship for the people. Additionally, despite promising 200 units of free electricity, the government raised the tariff by ₹2.50 per unit. When questioned about this by a journalist, Siddaramaiah reportedly said, “Where will I get the money for freebies? What I said during the election was just part of the election Jumla. Do you think we will fulfill everything? We can’t pay for something said during the election.”

BJP National Spokesperson Shri Bhatia stated that the government made various promises using deceptive tactics to secure votes. Now, when held accountable by the public, the state of Karnataka, and the media, the government claims that these promises cannot be fulfilled. This amounts to political cheating and misappropriation of public funds. Rahul Gandhi has become synonymous with deception, propaganda, and lies. Despite having time to meet delegations from farming communities in Delhi, Rahul Gandhi ignored reports of 400 farmer suicides in Karnataka. Rahul Gandhi did not allocate even a single minute to address these issues or direct the Chief Minister to assist the affected farmers. It is concerning that having a Chief Minister who promotes corruption, citing the MUDA scam, where an estimated ₹4000 crore of land meant for SC/ST communities was allegedly distributed to Siddaramaiah's wife. The double standard of Congress has been exposed and Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge lack the courage to answer tough questions. If promises cannot be fulfilled, leaders should not deceive the people and mislead the state where they hold power.
