Salient Points Of Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson Shri Shehzad Poonawalla’s Press Conference

**************************************

Focus has shifted from 'Beti Ko Mat Bachao' to ‘Keval Balatkari Ko Bachao' in Bengal. Mamata Banerjee has taken this campaign to such extremes that the TMC has become synonymous with 'Talibani Mujhe Chahiye'

***************************************

Instead of addressing the rapists, murderers, and vandals who attacked RG Kar Medical College, the Trinamool government is targeting common citizens, doctors and media professionals advocating for justice
***************************************

Observing Mamata Banerjee’s actions, even dictators like Indira Gandhi, Hitler, Stalin, and Kim Jong-un would sarcastically commend her authoritarianism, saying, "Wah Mamta Wah you have outdone even our levels of dictatorship"
***************************************

On August 14-15, while the nation was preparing for Independence Day, 5,000 to 7,000 state-sponsored goons in Bengal attacked the peaceful protest, stormed RG Kar Medical College, and vandalized it to destroy evidence
***************************************

Calcutta High Court has noted that the crowd was not spontaneous but rather well-organized. The public has lost all trust in the government and the police
***************************************

Mamata Banerjee is doing 'ABCD' politics on this issue. ‘A’ for Apradhi Bachao, ‘B’ for Blame Game, ‘C’ for Cover Up and ‘D’ for Dharna Wala Drama
**************************************

TMC, displaying its anti-Hindu bias, has started a blame game, attempting to give the issue a communal twist by labeling it as ‘Ram and Bam’
**************************************

Why is there silence from the Samvidhan Bachao Mandali and the Ladki Hoon Lad Sakhi Hoon Brigade regarding the dictatorship imposed by the West Bengal government?

***************************************

Entire Ghamandia Alliance’s character is defined by "Balatkari Bachao aur Betiyon ko Sharminda Karao"

***************************************

If Mamata Banerjee has any shred of morality left, she should resign, and the INDI Alliance should break its silence

Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson Shri Shehzad Poonawala criticized the Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal during a press conference at the party's central office in New Delhi on Saturday. He expressed concern over the unsafe environment for women under TMC rule and questioned the effectiveness of the Bengal police and Mamata Banerjee's administration.

Shri Shehzad Poonawalla expressed his deep concern, stating that for the past several days, the entire nation has been outraged by the horrific gang rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor, a daughter of Bengal and India, at RG Kar Medical College. Everyone, whether doctors, women, or any right-thinking individuals, is on the streets, filled with anger, demanding justice. However, instead of delivering justice, the TMC's agenda has shifted to "Beti ko mat Bachao keval Balatkari Bachao”.

Shri Poonawalla stated that instead of delivering justice, the TMC has made it their agenda to shield the perpetrators rather than protecting the victim. It’s not an exaggeration to say that TMC now stands for "Tanashahi Mujhe Chahiye". Instead of cracking down on the vandals who attacked RG Kar Medical College on the night of August 14th and 15th or taking action against the gang rapists of the young trainee doctor, the TMC government and West Bengal police are targeting those who are fighting for justice, be it ordinary citizens, sections of the media, or doctors.

Shri Shehzad Poonawalla criticized Mamata Banerjee's actions, stating that even infamous dictators like Indira Gandhi, Hitler, Stalin, and Kim Jong-un would applaud her authoritarianism, sarcastically praising her with "Wah Mamta Wah, you have surpassed the level of our dictatorship." The West Bengal government had issued what he called a "Talibani fatwa" of transferring 43 doctors who demanded justice for the victim to remote areas as a punitive measure. It's not just myself or the media criticizing Mamata Banerjee's actions, but also the United Front of Doctors Association, which tweeted, "We strongly condemn Mamata Banerjee for the unjust transfer of faculty who supported the protest. These punitive measures will not silence our demands for justice and security. We stand united and resolute in our fight." He referred to this as a clear display of authoritarianism, labeling it "Talibani dictatorship, par excellence."

Shri Poonawalla stated that for the past two days, Kolkata Police have been issuing notices to anyone speaking out for justice for Bengal's daughter, demanding the removal of their tweets and social media posts under the threat of arresting them at midnight. As a result, some journalists were forced to delete their social media accounts. This is a form of dictatorship. It's unclear where Rahul Gandhi is on this issue, considering he frequently speaks out against dictatorship, he should see this as a dictatorship. Transfer of doctors, threatening citizens, threatening journalists and Trinamool has even threatened its own party MP.

Shri Shehzad Poonawalla highlighted that the TMC showed remarkable generosity towards Sandip Ghosh, the Principal of RG Kar Medical College, by transferring and promoting him to the position of Principal at National Medical College within just four hours of the incident. Sandip Ghosh’s involvement in the rape case of a female doctor raised suspicions, prompting the CBI to call him in for questioning. Former TMC MP and national spokesperson Shantanu Sen remarked that there were numerous complaints against Sandip Ghosh before this incident and questioned why he was retained as the principal of RG Kar Medical College. Within an hour of Shantanu Sen’s comments, he was removed from his position as TMC's national spokesperson. In response, Shantanu Sen stated that he had not made any statements against the party and expressed confusion over his removal.

Shri Poonawalla stated that on August 14 and 15, while the entire nation was gearing up for Independence Day and every citizen, including women, was on the streets advocating for justice for the daughter of Bengal. During that period, 5-7 thousand state-sponsored goons were dispatched to assault the peaceful protest and vandalize RG Kar Medical College to destroy evidence. When BJP karyakartas protested in Bengal yesterday, the police responded with brutality, and one karyakarta was even run over by a vehicle. This represents the introduction of a dictatorial and Taliban-like mentality in Bengal.

Shri Shehzad Poonawalla stated that, given all the evidence, it is clear that the TMC government’s agenda is to conceal the truth, protect the rapist, and destroy the evidence. Efforts to destroy evidence in this case have been underway. New evidence suggests that there might be more than one rapist involved, and the entire process seems designed to offer systematic and institutional protection. This is being done to prevent any connections between the rapists and the TMC from coming to light. As a result the focus has shifted from "Maa, Mati, Manush" to "Rapist Bachao” in Bengal.

Shri Poonawalla emphasized that under the TMC model of rape, murder, and cover-up employed by the West Bengal government, the Calcutta High Court has declared this situation as a failure of the state machinery. The TMC government’s police force failed completely in ensuring the safety of doctors. The question arises as to how 5,000 to 7,000 people were able to suddenly enter RG Kar Medical College. The High Court has noted that this was not an unexpected crowd but rather a meticulously organized one.

BJP National Spokesperson Shri Shehzad Poonawalla stated that the Calcutta High Court has completely lost faith in the West Bengal government and police, resulting in the transfer of both the investigation and the case of vandalism at RG Kar Medical College to the CBI. Instead of taking appropriate action or resigning, Mamata Banerjee is engaging in 'ABCD' politics: 'A' for sa Apradhi Bachao, 'B' for Blame Game, 'C' for Cover-Up, and 'D' for Dharna Drama. Initially, the murder was declared a suicide, the victim's parents were denied access, and a misleading theory that there was only one rapist was promoted. When all efforts to destroy the evidence failed, a mob of 5,000 people was sent. Trinamool, reflecting its anti-Hindu mentality, initiated a blame game, attempting to give the issue a communal twist by labeling it as a 'Ram and Bam' conflict. Today, Mamata Banerjee is organizing a protest, but against whom? Is she protesting against the Home Minister or the Health Minister? The irony is that Mamata Banerjee herself holds both these positions, so who exactly is this protest drama directed at?

Shri Poonawalla questioned the silence of groups like the Samvidhan Bachao Mandali and the Ladki Hoon Lad Sakhi Hoon Brigade regarding the dictatorship imposed by the West Bengal government. Why Rahul Gandhi had only tweeted about quotas and not made any substantial statement following the August 14-15 incident, why leaders like Priyanka Chaturvedi, Priyanka Vadra, Atishi, and Akhilesh Yadav remain silent on this issue. Their silence indicates a conspiracy, with an unspoken agreement to avoid questioning each other’s regions, Kannauj and Bengal.

Shri Shehzad Poonawalla criticized the similar patterns across regions, where victims are blamed, shamed and rapists are protected. Efforts to save rapists are evident in both Ayodhya and Kannauj. Akhilesh Yadav and his leaders’ demand for DNA and narco tests on a minor victim from the Nishad community mirrors the tactics in Bengal, where justice for victims is obstructed. Even in Sandeshkhali, women were misled. This pattern of saving rapists and humiliating victims is emblematic of the entire Ghamandia alliance.

Shri Shehzad Poonawalla stated that another tragic incident occurred in a tribal area of Bengal where a 22-year-old girl's throat was slit and her body was found soaked in blood. West Bengal is increasingly becoming one of the most unsafe places for women. Despite this, Mamata Banerjee's priority seems to be scaring people rather than taking responsibility for these incidents. Rabindranath Tagore once said that the mind should be free from fear and the intellect should remain elevated, but today, under Mamata Banerjee's rule, women in Bengal live in fear and suppress their thoughts. If Mamata Banerjee has any sense of morality left, she should resign and the INDI Alliance should break its silence.
