Salient points of press conference held by Hon'ble Union Minister and Senior BJP Leader Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad

The Uddhav government in Maharashtra has lost the moral authority to stay in the government. This government is not committed to development, but committed to Vasuli and corruption.

*************

Several aspects related to this loot and vasuli taking place in Maharashtra will come to light. This is probably for the first time in the history of India that a police commissioner has written that the state home minister has set a target of collecting Rs 100 crore per month from Mumbai.

************

If Rs 100 crore every month was to be collected from Mumbai, then imagine what would be the target for the entire Maharashtra? Also if this was the target for the home minister, then what is the target for the other ministers?

*************

Whether the target of collecting Rs 100 crore every month from Mumbai was for the home minister himself or his party, the NCP, or for the Maharashtra government?

*************

If one inquires from the Shiv Sena about this incident, the party says ask NCP, and the NCP says ask the chief minister as he is the one who takes decisions, and if one inquires from the Congress, the party washes its hands of the matter and says ask the two bigger parties in the alliance?

*************

Today something amazing happened. First Maharashtra Home Minister, Shri Anil Deshmukh went to take the go ahead from NCP supremo, Shri Sharad Pawar and then he went to see the Chief Minister, Shri Uddhav Thackeray to tender his resignation.

*************

The silence of Maharashtra Chief Minister, Shri Uddhav Thackeray is this whole murky episode raises several serious questions. What is the political direction that this Vasuli Agadi will take?

*************

We expect a primary investigation by the CBI into this whole issue, like the Mumbai High Court has said in its order today. Also if the CBI finds prima facie evidence of any wrongdoing then it has the authority to register an FIR.

*************

Mumbai High Court also accepted that the issue is serious and since Anil Deshmukh is involved in the matter, a fair and independent investigation by the Mumbai police is not possible.

*************

In his resignation letter, Anil Deshmukh has written an interesting thing. He says I am resigning on moral grounds. Uddhav Thackerayji is there any shame left in you or not? If Anil Deshmukh is resigning on grounds of morality then Uddhav Thackerayji where is your morality?

*************

Actually, the manner in which the Maharashtra government is functioning, there is no doubt that Chief Minister, Shri Uddhav Thackeray has lost the moral right to run the government because the fundamental principle of democracy is that democracy runs on respecting moral values.

*************

The questions raised by the Congress on Rafael are baseless. After facing defeat on all fronts on Rafael, the party is again raising the issue.

************

Even the CAG and the Supreme Court did not find anything wrong in the Rafael issue. In the Supreme Court, Congress was left red faced. Even the CAG did not find anything incriminating. Seems it's not just Rahul Gandhi who does not do his homework, now even the Congress spokesperson is not doing any homework.

*************

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Congress leaders travelled all over the country with a model of the Rafael plane and used unparliamentary language for our Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. Even then they faced a crushing defeat in the elections.

*************

The French general who has raised the issue of Rafael has taken the name of Susshen Gupta. This is the same Susshen Gupta who was arrested in 2019 in the AgustaWestland Chopper case. Names of many big leaders from the Congress party were exposed in the AgustaWestland case.

*************

After all till when will the safety and security of our jawans be allowed to  be compromised by the Congress? I want to urge the Congress party not to demoralise the Indian armed forces.

*************
