Union Minister Shri Anurag Thakur addressed a press conference at the Bharatiya Janata Party’s headquarters in New Delhi on Saturday. During his speech, Shri Anurag Thakur condemned Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and other AAP leader's involvement in the Delhi liquor policy case. Shri Thakur questioned the double standards of the INC, which previously criticized AAP over the Delhi liquor policy case but is now supporting it. Shri Anurag Thakur also pointed out the tragedy in Punjab's Sangrur district, where the consumption of poisonous alcohol led to the death of 20 people, criticizing CM Bhagwant Mann for not addressing the issue.

Shri Anurag Thakur stated that while discussing the politics of integrity, today we find AAP embroiled in the liquor scam. Shri Thakur mentioned that while former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, other leaders, and middlemen are in jail, now the ‘Kattar Beimaan’ Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was detained by the ED in the Delhi liquor policy case. Shri Thakur highlighted the irony that leaders who once advocated for moral politics are now talking about running the government from jail. He pointed out that in Punjab, an AAP-ruled state, where the party promised to create a ‘Nasha Mukt’ Punjab, over 20 people died due to spurious liquor consumption in CM Bhagwant Mann’s Sangrur constituency just yesterday. Shri Thakur expressed concern over the worsening situation in the CM’s home constituency and emphasized alleged links between AAP and liquor salesmen and middlemen in Delhi, leading to the proliferation of liquor shops in every area of the state.

Shri Thakur emphasized that previously, Arvind Kejriwal criticized the INC and Sonia Gandhi over corruption cases, yet now he finds himself allied with the INC. He also noted that the INC was once critical of AAP's government policies but is now extending support to them. Shri Thakur questioned the rationale behind the INC's support for AAP, especially considering that INC leader Ajay Maken previously criticized AAP for breaking the INC's voter base. Additionally, Shri Thakur criticized Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann for failing to issue a statement regarding the deaths caused by spurious liquor in Punjab.

Shri Anurag Thakur criticized the Aam Aadmi Party for harboring MPs who use international platforms to tarnish India’s image. Shri Thakur further directed his criticism highlighting that the MPs of AAP stand with those forces abroad who are against India and support terrorism. Shri Anurag Thakur further questioned the Aam Aadmi Party about the motives behind their alignment with a nation antagonistic to India. Shri Thakur alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party had aligned with anti-national elements during the Punjab election campaign.
